When I really need the wins and I am pressed for time, the Giulio Cesare comes out.
-
I can add that you get a message for every compliment, but you only get a message for reports if there are 2 or more sent in one battle.
-
Exploit it? Personally I enjoy when my targets are confined to moving predictably in a single dimension at half power. Please do this more.
-
Are we still on this "Both CVs way below 50% WR" deal? Draw percentages are ~0,03% for Haku. Can we move on now?
-
Just, just... Look at @Culiacan_Mexico's post for the actual server data:
-
Stop this. It's not even an argument. You are off by a factor of 10^-2
-
Draws are less than 1% of battles, way less. So claiming that 7,85% of tier 10 battles with CVs are draws is indeed ridiculous.
-
I want to start by questioning your numbers, and I'm quite certain you can imagine how ridiculous the idea of both the Haku and Midway having substantially below 50% WR is. Now if we leave your numbers aside and talk about balance as a concept. You really have a few points to cover. Team balance: The ships facing each other needs to be somewhat comparable given equal skill. Either through a tight MM algorithm or through maintaining strict ship v ship balance. Ship balance: Ships need to adhere to some sort of zero sum power score balance. Basically if a ship is good at something it needs to bad at something else of equal value. Reward balance: Ships need to be able to have equal access to rewards. Doesn't mean that all ships need to have the same max and min reward potential, there is room for more or less skill dependent ships. Team Balance Pretty straight forward in theory but limited by how much WG wants to tax the matchmaker, or how much they want to normalize ships so that the exact team composition matters less. Ship balance What most people think about when talking about new ships and how much they will own or get owned versus other certain ships. Really difficult to pin down prior to large scale usage on the live server, and even then it's going to be very subjective depending on what you want from the ship. Do you think every DD should be good at capping? Should every ship be viable in ranked? Should every ship have the same general impact on the result of a battle? Reward balance This is probably what is important to most players who don't spend time arguing over balance. Does the ship bring in the rewards you expect at the end of the day. The advantage to this way of balancing is that it can be done centrally and does not require balancing individual ships as much. In theory you reward everything you want players to do in the game and then you balance the ships to bring in the same average rewards. In the end it's going to come down to a combination of these three approaches to balancing, simply because the game should cater to a wide audience: the players who wants a fair team battle and doesn't care that much about individual balance, those who wants to have equal impact on the outcome of the battle given that they can utilize their ship's strengths, and finally the players who just wants to play the game and be greeted by decent rewards after the battle. Most players will be some combination of all three.

Why are people making so many assumptions? If you don't know, don't assume, search for the answer or ask. From the transcript of the 0.7.1 Q&A with Lordofdroid and Sub_Octavian (kindly written by our @MrFingers):

Just wanted to point out that the Eastern Dragon Myoko-clone is now available to purchase from the premium shop. This is a ship which hasn't been available on the EU server before, unlike her sister ship Southern Dragon. It works like the ARP ships in that it can't mount camos and can take any IJN, ARP or Dragon captain without penalties (like a premium). Doesn't have any other bonuses associated with premium ships though. She comes with a uniquely named and depicted captain with 10 skill points, it's otherwise a normal IJN captain able to command IJN and ARP ships as well. Both dragon ships are available if you also missed the southern one. Edit: They are also available for doubloons in-game. (credit to @iJoby for that bit of info)

Then a few weeks later they would show the movie for free.

I don't really understand the problem honestly. It's as if you're forgetting that this is a F2P game. They need their premium ships to be in demand. Call it what you want, but that's the revenue stream. That's why they threw the Duke of York in as "good will" because it wouldn't have sold hardly at all. That's why the free XP ships are the Missouri and the Musashi. Sister-ships sell like crap. Look at what they have to do even with ships which aren't technically sister-ships to make them desirable (Cossack, Z-23 and Asashio). Mutsu sold badly, Ashitaka even worse. If you want to play for free then it's unfortunate that you won't get to play all your favorite ships, but that's how it works. Personally I found the Normandie to be a fun ship and the Lyon looks to be more of the same with even more guns and actual AA. In hindsight would Strasbourg have been the better premium leaving Dunkerque for the tech tree later? Probably. But only WG knows where they were in the planning phase of the French BB tree at that point. -
The collection is supposed to continue through to the next patch where you get more opportunities to get boxes. But there is always going to be people who think different things are important to them. When WG sells a premium ship, are they "cashing in" on the people who want that ship? Technically yes, but you normally don't phrase it like that, just like you don't say that cinemas are "cashing in" on people who wants to watch the new Star Wars movies. I'll be clear in that I don't think that random loot boxes is the best delivery system for things you want and are willing to pay for. But I have no problem with free rewards being loot boxes as long as it's not gating something you can't get otherwise (like special upgrades, that's pretty stupid). If instead of getting a unique premium ship at the end of a campaign I got 10 boxes, each with a 10% chance to drop the ship, then I would be pretty pissed off. But not if I can just wait a bit and get it later instead. It's like when you could get a Gallant in the Dunkirk boxes. Nice if you do get it, otherwise you could just buy it like any other premium ship.
-
How long does it take you to get to the tier 5 BB the normal way? Probably less time than you have spent doing the missions. Getting a head-start on tech tree ships seems to me like the one of the least bad things to tie to chance. Something you can just get for free later the old-fashioned way. I can see why someone wouldn't like the random chance of boxes, but until they add something really exclusive into the loot-table I'm not that bothered to be honest. I don't feel like I need a head-start on a new ship line, but it's convenient and saves me some credits if I do. You still have the unique French captain as well as the Aigle to earn in the event.

Wargaming's Deck of Playing Cards must have 5 Aces in it

I got 15/18, then traded in 9 duplicates (had 10) to complete the collection. Didn't seem that bad. -
Under that system there would be an incentive to take damage from teammates. I don't think that's a good idea. Just removing the teamkiller from the battle is probably the best solution. In that way the current system works fine. Lets accidental teamkillers stay and be useful to the team while removing deliberate ones.

I really think you are just searching for the outrage in that statement. If they "aren't too eager to add sisterships", does that mean that they won't ever? No, it means that they don't want to if there are other viable options. Honestly I agree. In most cases when they add sister ships people start to whinge. It's difficult to make two unique ships out of the same class of ships. You either go the gimmick route like Belfast/Edinburgh or the time-period route like most IJN premiums. Both make people angry for different reasons. It also makes it super easy to compare the two and complain if one is doing worse than the other. A lot of variables are obviously considered when making premium and regular ships. In some cases they make them because "why not" and it's low investment, like Mutsu. Or they have incredibly easy access to data for designing them, like with most active museum ships. Maybe it's just that iconic and famous, like the Hood. All variables being the same, I think they prefer to have distinct ships in the game. -
Suggestion Swedish ships - example minor nation
Nechrom replied to Johan_Jung's topic in General Discussion
I doubt that would be necessary. It doesn't really solve anything since all Scandinavian/Nordic nations had the same style of navy for that time period. So you still wouldn't be able to make a full cruiser line even if you combined them, much less a BB-line. On the other hand looking at DDs, you would have no problem making a line simply from Swedish ships. I assume that WG wants to be specific with nations if they can afford to.- 168 replies

I got mine immediately just like every time I buy something in the premium shop. Maybe it's a payment provider issue. I always use PayPal.

I read your post as if they had been put up for doubloons but I couldn't verify since I already own them. Then I went to sleep.

I don't know. Collecting? Having a Myoko-fest every time there is a higher than normal 1st win bonus event? You really like the color blue? You are Chinese? You have found a way to make 7 different Myoko builds? Why do people do things anyway?
