Please tell me about DD win rates, because the only IJN DD after tier 5 with above 50% win rate is the Shimakaze.
-
Still having to just feed on the clueless players, while the rest will just buy their way out of it. It's the life story of DDs (IJN especially) to have to rely on the enemy being bad and having no way to fight a good enemy regardless of the skill of the DD captain. I keep waiting for the changes to DDs that enables good DD players to fight on the same playing field as good CA and BB players. Obviously not go toe to toe with them, but outplay them.

First I was like "Finally!", then I was like "Oh...". So a non-change in reality. Looks good on paper, has no effect in-game.

Sadly it's ~80° to each side.

WoT-style "MMOs" (I hesitate to even call them that) have about as much in common with WoW-style MMOs as games such as Battlefield has. MMORPGs for the most part has its content back loaded at the end of the progression, while the content of WoT-style online multiplayer games actually tapers off at the end. The latter are designed to be played at any point in the line of progression with just as much content as later in the line. If you actually find these games fun to play and not just for "newer and shinier toys" you could literally just stop at any point in the progression and you'd have the same game play experience as someone who is playing higher up the tiers. Now I understand that almost everyone is conditioned to seek progression, but even then you'd have a difficult time actually maxing out your possible progression while playing for free as long as you're okay with dropping down a few tiers for a while. There is just as much content and game play at tier 5 as there is at tier 10, if not more.

I don't think you've actually played War Thunder based on what you're saying.

Why is the compensation after being tked not enough to pay repairs?
Nechrom replied to Hwrs_Xander's topic in General Discussion
The difference goes to WG as an administrative cost. -
That feeling when you're 2nd place on XP earned, but you lost.

Holy balls! And I thought the Japanese had bad citadels. This one is huge, all well above the water line and even has both magazines above the water line (which the Japanese and US don't). I think I'll pass.
-
Companies don't make games for everyone to be able to play the entirety of it completely free. Thankfully you can still do so if you're good. Otherwise you do what you've always had to do when acquiring entertainment someone else spent time and money to produce. You pay for it.

I'm not just talking about one model of gun. Many ships have Swedish AA guns under different designations, but the Błyskawica for example has Swedish main guns.
-
I'm content with having Swedish guns on the playable ships for now. The small victories.

It's just an attempt to push blame back on the players for not explicitly stating every time that every region should have comparable offers, specials and events. Which, I'd like to point out, we actually do most of the time. That's the entire point we're basing our argument on after all. But as you say it's not the job of the players to point this out. It's not even the players job to make sure their own region doesn't get left behind. That's actually quite literally Ectar's job, which he and his coworkers are currently failing at.

Meanwhile Armored Warfare offers single premium vehicles at fair prices; 4.59€ for tier 4 and 14.99€ for tier 6. War Thunder has a bunch of bundles at 50% off. From how WG is acting you'd think WoWS was in such a good state that they can afford to do Blizzard pricing, with 20€ cosmetic mounts and pets. But we know this isn't the case, so either they are just this bad at business or they are literally jumping ship and trying to squeeze the last money out of what they are abandoning.
-
Don't forget the metric ton of premium vehicles that they raffle away to players who win just 5 battles.

Small Nations premium ships, Sweden, Poland, France, Italy etc
Nechrom replied to northwind789's topic in General Discussion
The maximum range of the 283 mm gun was 24'000 m even at the lower 20° elevation once they switched to more modern shells in 1939. It's not really a ship which is supposed to go head to head with BBs but rather the smaller ships able to pursue it in shallow waters. But even going up against BBs would be no problem with a bit of angling, like you have to do with BCs like the Kongo. Why I think it would be interesting is precisely because it would be a different experience than the Kawachi and South Carolina, relying more on maneuverability and superior range instead of armor and volley weight.- 66 replies

Yes of course it would be awesome if every new offer in the premium shop was a new and exciting ship, but I don't see a problem with making a reasonable bundle with a good ship we can already buy. Beats forcing you to get an expensive bundle for cash money if you want the latest new premium. I'm merely saying that this is fine, not that this is the ultimate dream.

Murmansk + 30 days premium @ 20€ Decent price if you didn't have it already and also want to refill on premium time. Totally okay with a bundle using a ship you can already get by its self. Having no doubloons, signals or consumables in the bundle also helps. Already have the ship myself. Probably the best value premium ship there is.

I think that the Sverige-class, or more specifically in the shape of a premium; the Gustav V, would make a really interesting and unique addition to tier 3. A tough little ship with 2 x 2 280mm guns @ 4 rpm with great ballistics. Fast for a tier 3 ship (23 knot) and decently armored (200 mm belt and guns, 100 mm citadel) with reasonable AA. I see it filling the same role as it did historically, namely attaching to cruiser and destroyer groups and following them into narrows and places where sailing a BB would not be recommended. Same length as a St Louis, a bit faster, with AA and 4 x 280 mm guns. Me wants.- 66 replies

Sweden had a whole bunch of destroyers that would fit, a few tier 1-3 cruisers and the quite unique Sverige-class.- 66 replies

First off you get 50% more XP just from being on the winning team, secondly it's not all about damage numbers but rather how much % of the targets health you can take off. Killing a full health DD by yourself should give roughly the same XP as killing a full health BB if you ignore that you'll probably score more criticals and start more fires while whittling down the BB.

I highlighted the part I think it completely wrong now. They used to be very good at it or at least superior to the US DDs when using torps, but that has since changed with several US DD buffs, overall ship maneuverability buffs and the introduction of IJN CVs with plane spam. What IJN DDs still has over the US DDs in mid-high tiers when it comes to torpedoes is larger margin for launching undetected and the questionable advantage of longer range. But US DDs have something the IJN DDs don't which trumps all that, that is much lower torpedo spotting range. Now that US DDs can actually launch undetected they are the better DD at everything but scouting.
-
There is so much you could do to make IJN tier 6-9 destroyers more useful. Increase turret rotation - You have such a massive difference between IJN and other nations here so there's a big margin to work with. Increase module hit points - Having only 2 turrets and consistently losing at least one every engagement is a big reason why you don't want to gamble on DD duels even if you are confident in your own skills. Reduce torpedo detectability by ship and plane - Pretty much a no-brainer. The other nations have much lower torpedo detectability range at higher tiers so once again there is room for improvement without creating something overpowered. Reduce torpedo reload - Should really be a thing for all higher tier DDs as their effective DPM doesn't scale anywhere close to other ship classes and in some cases the DPM even goes down as the tiers go up.
