Well I was only talking about AA, but I agree.
-
What we don't have in players we make up for in investment.
-
Yes, for some strange reason.
-
Well at least the IJN DDs from tier 7 onward got an AA buff across the board. From around a 15% buff at tier 10 to a 25% buff at tier 7.
-
Also worth noting is that DDs with dual purpose main guns had their main gun AA strength increased by up to 6.7x depending on their starting damage. The later tier DDs and ships using mostly long range AA guns got quite a lot more air defense. Tirpitz lost 0.5 km AA range but got a lot better damage. Atlanta didn't even lose any range it just got way more powerful.
-
At a certain point, yes. Before that they just take the damage themselves that they deal to teammates.

I hate to break it to you but the mission is designed to be more difficult if you don't already have a few tier 6+ ships. Since the reward is a free tier 7 ship. But you could be in a much worse position seeing as you do have the Cleveland which is good at both the 1st and 2nd stage of the mission.

Benson: Lo Yang: Yes. Without the 5th captain skill it has a detection range while firing of 10.3 km (with the 2 mil upgrade). The guns have a range of 11.6 km without AFT and 13.9 km with AFT.
-
Both yes and no. Benson gets two torpedo choices: 11600 dmg, 109 sec rld, 55 knt and 9.2 km. 16633 dmg, 122 sec rld, 55 knt and 9.2 km. Lo Yang get two torpedo choices: 11600 dmg, 109 sec rld, 55 knt and 9.2 km. 16633 dmg, 122 sec rld, 68 knt and 6 km. Besides that difference, the Lo Yang also gets less HP (800 less) but has armored steering gear and AA mounts which the Benson doesn't. Lo Yang is also the only destroyer that has the option to use Hydroacoustic Search instead of Engine Boost or Defensive Fire. Everything else should be more or less identical. tl;dr - The Lo Yang is a Benson which is specialized to counter other destroyers even better with faster but closer range torpedoes, hydroacoustic search and less critical damage taken.

They did the same with the Mutz in WoT. Hopefully it's the start of a new attitude towards selling premium content.

I have a confession... I caved and did the 10 wins in the Hosho. Truth be told I actually had fun when I went up against another Hosho or had a USN CV on my own team. Going up against a USN CV alone or with another IJN CV...

So you think girls "skating" on the water would fit more into the regular ship line-up?

Just here to complain about the Ars Nova missions
Nechrom replied to Sorata_'s topic in General Discussion
The Kongo mission went really fast. Something like two weeks of regular play, not focusing on anything in particular. Been slowly working on the Myoko mission and I'm about to finish the 2nd stage on that. Took quite a while due to the only time I'm in a position to do fire damage with tier VI+ ships is while doing the daily in the Ibuki and Cleveland. If I were to actually grind out the missions they'd be finished much faster, but I quickly realized that 2 months was plenty of time to complete them while playing as I normally do. -

Tier IX and X....shimakaze and CO torpedo sam...

Cruisers in high tiers aren't DD hunters as much as they are the fire support for the actual DD hunters, other DDs. The DD you are all complaining about will lose 100% of the time against another DD of equal skill and in some cases even worse skill. As has been pointed out already, the biggest problem with torpedo dependent DDs at higher tiers (IJN for the most part) is that you have so little influence over whether you do any damage or not. There's a CV on the enemy team? Congratulations, your torpedoes will now get spotted long before reaching their target. Oh, he's also good? He can at the very least perma-spot you with no way out for you except running back to your CAs. If he wants he can simply delete you with a couple of TB squadrons. No CVs? Oh, don't worry. There are enough DDs on the enemy team that your torpedoes will most likely be spotted by them either way or by a random float plane. You don't have the reload speed to be able to take advantage of every launching opportunity like you do at lower tiers, so a failed spread takes a huge chunk of possible damage and rewards away from you. You're on a team with 3 other DDs? The enemy will be cursing, but not as much as you when the shorter torpedo range DDs mill around between you and your possible targets and their constant smoke and torpedoes make the enemy super cautious. When you think you're having a bad battle in your BB versus a DD-heavy team. Just stop and think how much damage each individual enemy DD has actually done, spread among them. Chances are most of them are having a pretty shitty battle as well. -
Just throwing in another reason to increase the number of multi cap point conquest maps: DDs have their average rewards halved just by spawning on a two base cap point map.
-
The Atlanta is a wonderful and fun cruiser. Do AA and anti-DD support or sneaky ambush tactics. Preferably both. I wouldn't get it if your main objective is credit grinding, but if you already have a good credit grinder like the Murmansk or a tier VIII premium then the Atlanta is good fun and perfect for training USN DD and CL captains.

If we get above 5mil before next week I'll start worrying.
-
I don't think WG have any idea what they are getting themselves into if we don't reach 10mil. Bundle and region difference complaints will seem like a wonderful paradise in comparison.
-
Yay! She's back!
-
At the end of the day I don't think WG, no matter what you think of them, will want hordes of pissed off players who spent time during 4 weeks to earn a free ship and in the end didn't get it despite their best efforts. My guess is that if the end date rolls around and we're not at 10mil yet, then they will add a week or two. If the 10mil is reached before the end date then they will allow players to continue gathering pearls for themselves until that time.

Arkansas/Wyoming:"Where are my planes and AA guns?!"
Nechrom replied to Han951753's topic in Battleships
The game uses the ship configurations which makes sense for their tier. -
The wrongness... Fuso was torpedoed by a destroyer. Atago was torpedoed by a submarine. Mogami was scuttled by an IJN destoyer. That's only counting the specific name ships I picked off the top of my head.
-
One class is always going the be the "game-maker". Even the most successful team games with a ranked ladder have classes or roles that are more important for the win than the others. Don't mistake this as me saying that ranked is fine, I'm just pointing out that having one class be the "carry" is not in and of itself wrong.

So recently I moved form IJN CAs to BBs... what a difference!
Nechrom replied to thepasty's topic in General Discussion
This has a lot to do with carrier gameplay in general. You're more or less forced to pick on the exposed and/or separated targets, which also happens to be the least important targets most of the time.
