  1. Myoko is getting a range nerf and Mogami is getting a range buff in 0.5.4. Not by much, but it fixes the comparative imbalance between the two. -0.5 and +0.5 km respectively, landing the Mogami with a 0.1 km range advantage over the Myoko.
  2. The only "automated system" in place in WoWS regarding team kills and team damage is the system which makes repeat offenders turn pink and eventually get their friendly fire damage done to themselves instead. But no, there is no way to get a team killer punished, as in banned. Maybe if he team kills a WG employee.

    Serious Gameplay Issues

Hold on... so you're telling me you've so far believed that you are able to look through smoke from the inside? Okay.

Some premium ships need some updrades

    Is this a troll?

Why is RNG playing the game instead of me?

You might want to add a "tl;dr" at the end. Not sure many (me included) want to read a wall of text if it's basically a rant. As for the topic... Where you are at the mercy of heavy RNG, your job is to shift the odds in your favor as much as possible. If shots can land anywhere within a specific area when you fire, then your job is to place the center of that area as close to the enemy ship as possible to give yourself better odds of hitting. What you call RNG in most of your rant is just the built in aim assist. It's there in order for our current way of aiming to work. If there was no basic aim assist 90% of players would miss so much that there would be no point to even play. For completely unassisted shooting to work you'd need an almost top down view when aiming or only very close range gunnery. At long ranges just moving the crosshair a single pixel up or down makes a massive range difference. You can easily check that for yourself in-game, and you'll quickly realize that hitting exactly where you're aiming isn't something that works with the current system of aiming. Not to mention how you'd be able to fire over obstacles.

    A premature radar nerf thread

I like the #2 option. Effective for giving positional information but not directly countering the DDs. If you want to fight them you sail or fly over there and flush them out.

So 5.3 improved matchmaking? Yeah, sure...

I suggest reading the patch notes regarding the matchmaker changes as they have nothing to do with the specific matchmaker issues you are pointing out.

    Smoke nerf?

I've not noticed any difference after the patch. But I'd like to note that in your screenshot you've already stopped generating smoke while you are still moving, so it's pretty clear in that case why you are being spotted.
  9. I like option 3 since the main thing I do with gun focused DDs (and I hope most other players as well) is to cap points and hunt other DDs. Invisi firing is nice but it's not worth the less health and definitely not worth higher detection range. The only DDs I'd ever consider using AFT with are ironically the Japanese ones that have less use of extra health and can still use their torpedoes at those ranges combined with really good gun ballistics. For anyone who likes to target bigger ships with their DD guns I'd probably recommend Demo Expert over AFT, but neither is my style. I only use my DD guns versus bigger ships as a last resort or when I have friendly ships tanking for me and I'm under no risk of being shot.
  10. Gremyashchy is very OP at tier 5. I doubt they'll sell it ever again unless they decide to nerf it first. Might end up as a prize ship for competitions at some point. Sims is a good ship and very good in the hands of someone who knows how to use it. It's one of the most agile ships in the game and is a close range monster. The issue some have with it is how to get into close range with such a visible DD. Yubari was a decent ship with a high fun factor, but she was nerfed hard where it really hurt. Now she's a curio and something you sail for sentimental value more than anything.
  11. You don't. Or more specifically, not alone. 1 v 1 you're going to lose even against some DDs, so you have to be just a few extra gun in a bigger fight. You can't take damage in the Yubari and you can't lob shots at long range anymore. Never be the first one in, always let someone else take the heat and just be the second line support. The only time you really should be aggressive is later in the battle when there are fewer ships around and you can get the drop on a lone BB that is occupied with someone else. Those torpedoes you have do a lot of damage but have such short range and bad angles that you can't use then against someone who is focusing on you.

    A premature radar nerf thread

Which is kind of the point don't you think? A "kill any DD within 12 km"-button would be pretty overpowered. We already have Hydro which is the high risk/reward option. If you want to cover a 12 km radius area you shouldn't expect to pop a full health DD who is evading during that time. I see radar as that ability you pop to finish off a DD who got spotted and popped smoke or went just outside of detection range after catching CA aggro. You use it to finish off a DD, not create a 12 km radius kill-zone for all DDs. You can of course also use it to scout for DDs you suspect is nearby and get some shots on them, but mainly give the DDs position away for your team to use (CV to send planes, DDs to hunt, BBs to avoid torpedoes etc).
  13. Well the daily gifts in WT kinda sucks, so that might not be the best example. You could see the daily missions we have in WoWS as daily gifts that you need to actually play to get. But those also kind of suck, so I guess both games are pretty equal in suck.

Ship info screen during battle, F1

Unless I've missed it there's no mod that adds the numerical values for detection range to the in-battle UI, other than the circles on the radar map which isn't what I'm looking for.

    A border exploit?

If you specify a target inside the border you can still change the approach to that target so the planes fly from outside the border. It's intended so that you can't block planes using the border. What you can't do, on the other hand, is setting a move order outside of the border.

Russian Cruiser line stats from Reddit...

Profintern looks like a sweet ship which I'll buy barring any ridiculous bundles. It's basically a Svietlana-class light cruiser but with a heavily upgraded fire control system and very beefed up AA. Looks to be a nice support cruiser that can stay at long range and provide AA cover to friendly BBs, kinda like the pre-nerf Yubari. Almost like how the Chapayev is a pre-nerf Mogami and the Budyonny is a pre-nerf Cleveland (minus the AA). Do I see a trend here?

Like in WOT Russian OP...or cheater?

In general they really are though.

Ship info screen during battle, F1

The only information I'd like in battle that we currently don't have is detection range. It would be easy to add a general stat pop-up when hovering the mouse over the ship miniature, just like we have for guns and torpedoes. That info could include detection ranges, max speed, rudder shift time, turning radius etc.

Low calliber HE-is still a mess

The Cleveland shells are better, not by much but still better. The only reason I can think of why you get worse results with the Cleveland is the accuracy and the ballistics. When you engage a ship with the Cleveland it will most likely be further away so you can't expect the same reliable superstructure hits. Combine that with a higher trajectory and you'll be hitting more deck armor and less superstructure. An IJN DD will be engaging at most from 10 km and has better shell velocity so it will hit where it aims a lot more often. As for the OP, you much seriously be picking the wrong targets or aiming in the wrong locations because I don't have this problem in my Anshan (basically the same ship with the same guns). If you exclusively fire at BBs then sure, but why would you ever do that other than in a few rare battles when there are no other targets. Even then you'll start enough fires on BBs for it to even out due to their slow repair cooldown.
  20. From the final Project R article: Did not reach the goal? Had no luck in the raffle? Do not despair - Kamikaze R will be available for purchase sometime in the future for everyone to enjoy!
  21. 1) That's down to what time you like to play and your connection to the server. I don't think there's any special reason not to play on the EU server aside from not having special events centered around NA holidays. 2) Isn't that why he's asking? He wants to start on the EU server and would like to have those ships again. 3) Well actually it's going to be sold later. Not immediately after the event, but they've said that it's coming to the premium shop. As for the original question, I'm afraid not. Those ships are not premium ships, so it would be a WG first if they eventually sold them. They are also supposed to be a part of a longer line of events, each requiring that the previous part has been completed. A third reason is also that they are licensed content and probably not completely in the hands of WG to with as they want. So selling them is probably not part of the licensing deal.

Yubari - what's your opinion about it?

"- very fast" Same speed as the Kuma, worse than the Phoenix. "- best AA for its tier" Nope. The Wyoming is better and has better range. The only advantage the Yubari has is the Defensive Fire consumable. "- up to 3 anti air defence fire consumables for extra AA defence" Yes, that's the only advantage. "- excellent torpedo range of 8km" No, it's 6 km. "- devastating torpedo damage with 14k damage" Sure. 4 torpedoes with 14k base damage, but with awful angles and short range. So you have to get within US DD torp range and give your flat side to the enemy in order to launch. Not the best idea in the most fragile non-DD in the game. "- only 44s torpedo loading" Worse than the Kuma. "- by far the fastest turning cruiser, DD like" 0.2 sec better rudder shift than the Tenryu, otherwise the same. "- fast shooting guns" Worse than both the Tenryu (which has the same number of effective guns) and the Kuma (which has 2 more guns than the Yubari). "- 10% chance of setting fire with HE shells !!" Same as the other ships with those 140 mm guns, the Kuma and the Tenryu "- best concealment of tier 4 cruisers, down to 8.5km spotting range" Best for tier 4, but worse than the tier 3 Tenryu which is better than the Yubari in almost every way. "- hard to hit whith speed and course changes on longer ranges" Sure. But that's par for the course with low tier CLs, like the Tenryu for example. I'm not saying that the Yubari doesn't have any good qualities, just that it doesn't have anything other than its AA over the other tier III and tier IV cruisers. And the AA is not really that good, it's just that almost no one has any AA at that tier. Before the patch you could actually play to your strengths by staying close to friendly BBs while at the same time have the range to do something from there. Now you are forced closer to the enemy where your DD-like "armor" ends up being a huge disadvantage and you can't lend your AA to the big guys. You'll straight up lose a gun duel with a Clemson for example. And anything heavier is just out of your league completely if it's a 1 v 1. The Yubari worked because it didn't have to go into close combat if it didn't want to, like the fragile German tier V and VI cruisers.
  23. Nechrom

Yubari - what's your opinion about it?

Yup. 57 mm belt armor, then everything else is low tier destroyer armor (10 mm). Worse armor than the Tenryu.
