Any way to acquire any US premium ships T4-6 right now? (EU Server)
Nechrom replied to Phlogistoned's topic in Cruisers
That sounds very promising. She would be basically like a New Mexico but with roughly the same level of modernization as the New York, which leaves her a bit short on AA. So a nice fit for tier 6, taking into account that she'll be a premium ship. -
More accurately the Fujin is literally the same as the Kamikaze, while the Minekaze is basically the same as the Kamikaze.

And the sad part is that this is basically the entire issue. But it's such a massive problem and have seen so little fixing over such a long time that it just sours the entire game. The arbitrary battle ratings are so infuriating and illogical that you just shake your head in disbelief.

Correction: Obsidian is the developer, Mail.ru/My.com is the publisher. Also the actual people over at Gaijin making War Thunder are amazing. Unfortunately they have incredibly stupid management. Read some devlogs from the actual developers and compare them to articles/interviews by a certain Mr. Yudintsev. It's so sad. What a waste.

Pointless change. Just have better missions, since that is the only thing effected by kills. In every other situation you just want the enemy sunk as fast as possible.

What we currently have is this, AA-wise: Mutsuki - 22 x 25 mm & 2 x 120 mm Hatsuharu - 25 x 25 mm & 4 x 127 mm Fubuki - 20 x 25 mm & 6 x 127 mm Kagero - 19 x 25 mm Shimakaze - 22 x 25 mm & 6 x 127 mm I think you might see the problem. So why don't we instead of the Kagero have: Yugumo - 20 x 25 mm & 6 x 127 mm ...which is identical to the Kagero in every other way?
-
There are lots of similar questions we could be asking. Like why do we have Kagero at tier 9 instead of Yugumo? We'll probably never get an answer.

Amagi has longer belt armor reaching almost all the way to the stern. It also has way better deck armor at 32+95+70(114)=197(241) versus 25+70+44=139 for the Nagato, or slightly better than 37+140+19(43)=196(220) for the North Carolina.

Kamikaze R in the premium shop - That was fast...
Nechrom replied to Nechrom's topic in General Discussion
For three days if they pay 20€. Both Tirpitz and Warspite were for sale longer. -
What I can say is that the Mogami is getting 0.5 km longer range while the Myoko is getting 0.5 km shorter range next major patch (0.5.4). That leaves the Mogami with 0.1 km over the Myoko. So far no changes to the Amagi. Personally I think the Amagi looks to be fine (I don't own it yet) and has better armor layout than the Nagato as well as of course more guns. Having a decent AA battery also favors the Amagi. I have to take other people's word for it, and I've heard very little negative about the Amagi to be honest. Actually I've heard a lot of good things about it.

I'm on basically the same page. A light bundle is fine since the ship was available for free to active players. It's also a way better bundle than the Fujin had. So if you didn't get that one, you might find this price a bit more reasonable. A much nicer camo is also a bonus. -

Nah. Not before Russian CV line. -

None of the above. Which ship? Gustav V. Which branch? Nordic/Scandinavian. -
I've always been spotted while moving and using smoke even at 1/4, unless I also turn away from the ship spotting me.

Give it some time. The human mind tries to find patterns where there are none. Soon you'll be cursing at your bad luck again and be convinced that everyone is using aim assist.

IJN DDs can be fun if you embrace the sneak and don't put all of your eggs in one basket all the time. Try only using a single launcher at a time unless you have a perfect situation. Less time spent just waiting around. I like all kinds of DDs and I can use them in pretty much any way, even the sub-optimal ways for that specific DD type. Don't get stuck in a single play style just because it's the optimal one for that DD. If the situation calls for a bit of gunnery, go for it. The IJN DDs can even be pretty fun versus other DDs because of their insane HE damage. If you get a nice first strike in on another DD you'll not only take off a huge chunk of health but also wreck a few guns and modules. While prolonged fights are not recommended you can always just disengage and fight another day. If you only like gunnery and don't like torpedoes then IJN DDs will just not be very fun in comparison to the other nations, that's just a matter of taste really.

What is the worst premium ship in the game?
Nechrom replied to AndyHill's topic in General Discussion
The Atlanta is fine, it's just less of an all-round ship than most other cruisers. It has a different play style which throws people off. Not going to claim its exactly on the same level as the other tier VII cruisers, but it's completely okay for a premium. -

None of the ones you can buy right now are bad. -
What makes you think that the MK is being played by more "decent" players? A smaller player base doesn't equal better players. Access to disposable income also doesn't equal a better player. The ability to not have to play a single battle before getting the MK on the other hand should lower its average stats. I'm still trying to figure out where any of this is different from the pre-nerf Mogami, which you say was OP. You can't ignore stats just because of your gut feelings. If you have an actual reason why you think the stats are not reflective of the ships performance then please state that reason. Stats are never wrong. You can interpret and apply stats the wrong way, but the stats are what they are.

How much the ship is played has no impact on the stats unless it's played so little that you can't get a statistically significant sample size. If anything the MK can be played by completely new players, so it should have inherently worse stats than the regular cruisers. Ironically the MK is now much better than the Mogami ever was in its ability to "sitting back and lobbing shots with a minimal risk of getting shot". Plus it also has insane AA, the exact opposite of the Mogami. If you thought that the Mogami was OP, then that directly implies that the MK is now much more OP.

Saying things doesn't make it true. If you have anything backing your claims that the MK is fine then please present that. Until then we actually have stats showing the MK to be outperforming the other tier VIII cruisers in all areas.

And you have a tier VIII DD...
