The biggest thing the Myoko has over the Yorck besides actually good shells is that she doesn't completely melt under HE fire. Even the tiniest HE shell hit on the Yorck does at least 1k damage, often more. So if you end up versus a Soviet DD at range or a CL like the Cleveland or Nürnberg, just RIP. It shares the title of "squishiest ship tier for tier" with the Yubari.

When you already have a mechanic for temporary disabling of guns I really don't get why you would need another level of it. If you feel the need to, just increase the time it takes to repair the guns maybe based on how much damage they've taken. Auto-targeting guns like AA and secondaries can stay permanently destroyed, that's fine. But removing the players active ability to contribute to the battle without sinking him is just pointless griefing. The new incredibly annoying sound that plays when your guns get perma knocked out is just salt on the wounds.

Creating a division in wows compared to platoon in wot
Nechrom replied to Pekoe_Darjeeling's topic in General Discussion
There is little to no exchange between the development teams of WoWS and WoT as far as I know. Smart design choices in WoT don't automatically make it over to WoWS and vice versa. If you want something improved in WoWS, you basically have to get them to reinvent the wheel. Being a younger game also means that even obvious quality of life features have to be developed and implemented piece by piece just like any new content (new ships, maps, game mechanics etc). Everything starts off very bare-bones because they wanted to get the game out and making money before they continued to polish it. Then it just becomes a matter of priorities. Like do we improve the interface and usability of forming divisions or do we push out team battles? -
They apply just as much as they do to any digital service where physical goods isn't changing hands. If they make you waive your right to your cool-off period when you buy it, then you can bet that digital trade laws apply.

Only spamming HE is a waste on a ship with such nice AP shells. It also doesn't have especially high fire chance. It's one of the most adaptable cruisers around since it has great AA, great range, great RoF, good AP shells, amazing ballistics and even decent torpedoes. So don't get caught in a specific play style.

All in all pretty bad compared to the Murmansk, but that's not saying much. Pretty okay compared to everything else. Regardless it's going into the collection.

Way is no button to stop accruing ship experience on world of ships?
Nechrom replied to tigeo's topic in General Discussion
No, there is no current or planned ability to "accelerate captain training". Even without that feature you still level up your captain in World of Warships way faster than you do your crew in World of Tanks. Which is why it's not needed. -
The Mutsuki is the odd transition from the old design, but with slow moving and long reload torpedoes. When you move over to the "special type" destroyers you still have the long reload torpedoes, but you get those nasty 127mm guns with 2100 damage HE shells.

If you have Atago, do you still recommend Mikhail Kutuzov ?
Nechrom replied to JubaM24's topic in General Discussion
Yes, I was including the +3% in both numbers. At least with the Atago you don't have much else useful to pick as the 4th skill. Strengthening DD-level AA is just a waste. -

Nechrom replied to JubaM24's topic in General Discussion
MK doesn't hit well enough at that range for 15% burn chance to work. Atago has better accuracy and 20% burn chance, plus much better actual direct damage. I would probably recommend using AP against BBs with the MK due to the reliable damage when hitting the superstructure, at least at long range. At closer ranges the HE does well because you can get a decent hit rate. -

Nechrom replied to JubaM24's topic in General Discussion
Both ships are good but they play as different as two tier VIII cruisers can. The Atago is very stealthy and has great HE shells, so she's best versus BBs and DDs. She has basically no AA but sports the repair ability. The MK has amazing range, great AP shells and great AA, so she's great support for friendly ships and deadly versus other cruisers. She has no fighter plane but instead a very limited smoke generator. -
Rudder setting should always be displayed.

Rudder position is always shown if it's outside of the neutral position and in the last patch it got more visible. -
Premium shop: Mikhail Kutuzov again for sale
Nechrom replied to JapLance's topic in General Discussion
Russian bias get! I definitely expected this move as the situation was pretty much identical to the one with Błyskawica. First sold only in a bundle and with seemingly little hype from the playerbase (unlike for example Tirpitz) and then not long after we get a chance to pick it up both with or without bundle. Bundle-less offers will definitely keep me coming back for more, so the guy at WG who finally made the call can give himself a big pat on the back. -
I could be mistaken since they already changed how it works once before. So they might have changed it again.

Premium and the victory bonus does, but no other bonus is included like: daily victory, signal, camo etc.
-
Average XP/battle is 1899 so with daily bonus and the occasional signal it makes sense. I'm pretty certain I didn't free XP anything.

I found my stint in the New York very enjoyable. 16 battles to get to the New Mexico, finishing at 81% win rate, 60k avg damage, 1.5 avg ship kills/battle, 1.3 avg plane kills/battle and 69% survival rate. Those guns on her are beastly and have that pleasant low trajectory of the previous US BBs. The low range just removes the ability to fire those pointless long range shots and focus on getting into actual effective gun range. The armor was also more than adequate in my opinion. But it might have helped that I went up the IJN BB line first, where you have to angle all the time or you're gone.

Arpeggio phase 2: EU missions are *very* different to the SEA's mission

Okay, this might be a redundant answer at this point, but: Yokosuka port? -
Arpeggio phase 2: EU missions are *very* different to the SEA's mission
Nechrom replied to Yuzral's topic in General Discussion
While I do enjoy the occasional anime (was way more into it about 10 years ago), I haven't watched Arpeggio. But on the other hand I like collecting ships, so I'll be doing these missions for that reason alone. Also gives me another reason to play which is always welcome. -
Phase 3 is 2 mil damage, not 10 mil.
-
Well the first reward for one of the missions is the captain Haruna. Logically the ship could be one of the other phase rewards in the same mission. I guess we'll have to wait for the official news article.

Arpeggio phase 2: EU missions are *very* different to the SEA's mission
Nechrom replied to Yuzral's topic in General Discussion
The biggest issue I see is that the 100 kills and 10 mil damage phases are on the same mission, so you have to do each separately. By far the two most time intensive phases. I mean I can probably rack up 10 mil damage with the Tirpitz in roughly 100 battles, but that's still a massive time investment especially since it doesn't synergize well at all with the "main battery hits" phase in the other mission. Using something like a CA will easily double the number of battles required for 10 mil damage. It's still totally doable in 2 months, but for a much smaller group of people than last time. -
So that thing they said about future ARP missions requiring the previous ARP missions to be completed was a lie? Or are these missions not even active for those who didn't do the previous ones?
-
This has been an issue with WG for as long as I can remember. Missed several discounts because of this. It's even more of a problem since they started integrating events into their in-game UI, because they refuse to state exact times there, just dates. Annoying but ultimately a minor issue all things considered. Just live and learn and always check at what time events end in the original news post.
