No, to promote their game. Not to say "omg BBs are special snowflakes, and you only need to pick a BB to be on top of every stupid player that picked something else". If you think any game could work like that, then you're beyond any help. Do you think any dev would go "Ok, now we've made Battleships, these are amazingly good, now lets make a lot of ship that should be cannonfodder for them, and somehow players will want to play that."? Whomever wrote that line likely had little clue that there's actually a difference between the ships and that all aren't just "battleships". And your baseless whining (and it is, both factually on the few points you try to make as they're simply wrong and full of ridiculous hyperbole, and because you don't even try to suggest anything productive) is EXACTLY what caused CVs to not only get some changes they needed, but many extra broad changes made because WG wanted to appease just those "but I'm special cause I clicked on a BB to enter a game" players who didn't manage to survive when their passive defenses weren't enough. -

That's double hilarious. Firstly, it's your sort of baseless whining that have gotten CVs into the position they have now (which in turn both allow and promote a DD heavier meta, not that in fact that this is even a thing, though the lack of CVs allows them to be nearly equal). Secondly, the 2nd image just shows where your bias is. You think that image should somehow "prove" that BBs should have a special snowflake position. -

You're confusing base stats with actual performance. And across pretty much every performance based stats BBs are close to the top including survivability in games, as in HOW OFTEN THEY ACTUALLY SURVIVE. Which is the effect of those survival advantages to every ship, be in stealth, speed, manouverability, hp (and being able to repair lost hp) or armour. And in similar fashion BBs are also at the top or amongst the top damage dealers across the board. -

Seems to me someone screwed up their SQL and it's checking for everything you've done since the event started. As it is, I got awarded diamonds for all the missions I autocompleted (everything bug the t6 kill ones). -

Hey, that's a new fallacy you've not used yet. Ye sure, all DD players are "no true scotsmen" and it's only them not playing them perfectly that makes DDs "OPness" not show up in statistics. And it's not at all the exact opposite with one of the most popular ships in the game being a t8 BB played by a lot of newbies that keeps BB results down is it.. no couldn't just be the exact opposite of your idea.. oh wait, it is. And no, they weren't mean to be "unique" if anything BBs were supposed to be rarer. -
So sad... Just to get Nº of battles...

Damage or XP limit to have it counted, and then a smaller amount of battles to compensate. Or as noted after you, top 8-10 would work nicely too. -

Out of all the outrageously false things you've said in this thread, this might be the worst. Please tell me you're trolling +Edit to expand on your last ridiculous idea that people can't fight DDs effectively. As already shown to you, DDs have the LOWEST survival rates of all classes. People being unable to fight them, and them surviving on a lower rate than any other ship is mutually exclusive. -

There already are, and always were. Map awareness, actually understanding each enemy DDs capabilities (as in, actually knowing which can actually stealth torp and knowing how to corral DDs into spots they can't escape.). And that's beside things like aircraft which hardcounters DDs (but then you can thank the same short sighted nerf crying for the lack of CVs currently, and especially in higher tiers) or other DDs who spends a large part of their time fighting other DDs. As I've said before, you're only looking for excuses for why it's impossible, when in fact it's just you confusing your inability to do something with there not being any way to do so. -

Yep, and it's a very valid point to make games not entirely silly. Some variance in setups are perfectly fine, but games with 4 tirpitzes on each side (+ more BBs) are as bad or worse than games with similar numbers of IJN only DDs. -

No, I just showed you how you were wrong, and pointed out the facts you seem oblivious about. It's ONLY your opinion that they break game balance. In fact they do less damage, survive fewer games, and in no way seem to statisticly affect games in any more significant way than any other ship (indeed less so). "Not reading carefully" doesn't mean "agreeing with you". Just a fyi. If anything, you should read my replies and actually consider them instead of just spouting the same line over and over dribbled with complete falsehoods. -
The design if the missions are poorly thought out. Kill missions means people lose their heads going for kills. And mission that just involves entering a game (and an absurdly large amount) just makes it "profitable" to throw in ship after ship and die quickly every time. So you get people entering games just looking for an easy kill and then not caring what happens afterwards. Missions should have been a reasonable amount of wins, XP (both per ship, ship class and total), damage etc. Things you can do while playing to win.

Depending on loadouts, they actually had one radar+5 sonars, +2 DDs to spot with all those CAs killing what they spotted on a map with plenty cover to get close to those DDs if they sit in a cap. If BBs followed closely behind you could easily flush DDs out of a cap and put heavy pressure on them. But that would be trying to win, and not trying to find excuses. -

Except it will change little if anything for me. You're just so intent of twisting me into being the one with an agenda, when that's all you. It's amazingly hypocritical that you beyond that spends an entire post on a personal attack trying to twist that into being my error. Then you add a bit of concern trolling at the end just to add onto this hypocrisy. If you want to have a rational argument, you need to manage to divest your own ego from the facts. And at this point you take any counter argument personal instead of actually talking about the points. Here's some quick tips for you, if you say something hypocritical (like you did in this post) then that makes you a hypocrite. If you lie, then you're a liar. If you say something outrageously ignorant, then you're either ignorant or attempting to create a public opinion that's actually a lie, which makes you a liar. The one I addressed on that point is by definition one or both of those. -

Sorry, what part of "only in one single tier can you find more games played with DDs than other classes, and in most cases it's OTHER classes being more played". didn't you understand? Your citation only proves my point, not yours. And noone limited this merely to tier 10, nor are the only ships in any game only tier 10 ships. But lets actually check, if we do it simply by removing 2/3s of t8 and half of t9 games played from the pool to account for games where those ship tiers didn't get into a tier 10 match. I'd guess that'd be a fair assumption, maybe even too fair in "your" favour (but I guess. 4 t10s per side in t10 games doesn't look entirely implausible). This gives us from last week amount of played games on the EU server for tier 10 games: BBs: 1.722 million games CAs: 1.469 million games DDs: 1.276 million games So which class was more popular again? (and again, since I'm honest, a huge amount of those CA and BB games were premiums, so if you excluded them you'd actually get a fairly even number). And if you don't want to be called ignorant, don't pretend that all DDs can stealth fire torps, when this clearly isn't the case (which is where I've used that word, but as far as I see I never used that against you, unlike you who did that towards me). If you have issue with any claim like that, try to keep to the arguments, and not go purely personal as you tend to do. P.S. Next time try less cherry picking. If you want to extrapolate the popularity of a class of ships, it really doesn't work if you have to limit your "evidence" to one single tier (and the one tier with fewest players, least played games, and most skewed ship selection). -

Except all DDs can't fire torps like that. And to spew the "not affected by rng" line you have to intentionally twist everything. Torps have FAR lower hit rates than any ships guns. And the last "argument" that torp rates are low because torps have no limit falls on its face because torps are limited by your reload, which is again FAR lower than any guns. You could as well say that any ships gun rate of hits is as low because people just "abuse" (to even us a word like that is .. just stupid and intentionally trying to insult anyone using those weapons) how guns have no limit on ammo and so high rates of fire that you don't care if you miss. Also, how ignorant do you have to be to think torp aren't affected by random factors? Sure there's no computer moving them around a bit, but most torps are missed not because your target actively tried to avoid them, but because any random change in speed or direction from the time they're launched to when they would hit will make them go several km off target. Guess what? Some CAs can fire their guns undetected. And pretty much every BB can fire guns from ranges where none other than BBs can fire back. This is how these ships can manage to fight without being taken out of the game after their first attempt to attack. Your "argument" about them firing undetected is just immensely silly as that's a basic of how torp based DDs actually work. If DDs would always be spotted when firing torps, they both get shelled to bits (even more than they do now, with uniformly the WORST survival rates in the game) and never ever hit a single torp as people would have minutes to take evasive action (and that still wouldn't stop us getting OMG NERF TORP threads on this forum).
