If he doesn't have the coloured shells, why is the personalisation option even there? Was there a version for sale that didnt have the coloured shells?
-
Yes, 23,400 (1560 x 15) is quite a lot more damage than any BB, the heaviest of which is 16,200 (1350 x 12) with worse dispersion and reload.
-
Yeah I thought the same. "85° will just go through most bows even head on."

If you go to the WGC installed folder you can find the executables setup.exe, uninstall.exe and wgc.exe Setup.exe allows you to reinstall the WGC without having to fully reinstall all of the games. I would suggest ticking the "Delete the WGC preferences" box when doing so.

No thanks.

The game center launcher only shows a black screen? The entire WGC window is black?

Seems the Free Premium Consumables is cancelled according to todays stream.

Oh Thunderer previously had the Warspite dispersion? Could hardly tell.

If Ohio, with 8x457mm guns, was considered an adequate platform to use large cruiser dispersion instead of regular US/UK BB dispersion, why would they only buff Thunderer to Warspite dispersion? To me it seems likely that the dispersion they decided was unsuitable for a ship that is also strong at close range (Ohio) may be suitable for the other 8x457mm tier X BB they are developing (Thunderer).

Based on the changes; Ohio went from its current Large Cruiser dispersion to US/UK BB dispersion. Thunderer went from US/UK BB dispersion to Large Cruiser dispersion.

Submarines with acoustic torpedoes. Bad idea or good?
Benser33 replied to Elektroboot's topic in General Discussion
I have wondered a few times since the intial introduction of SS how they would engage each other beneath the surface, considering how restricted SS are in terms of mobility and their torpedo firing angles, simply aiming at a target that can move across multiple axes with any degree of accuracy seems extremely difficult, let along maneuvering to defend yourself at the same time. Torpedoes that "home" might be the answer, but just how manueverable are homing torpedos? What sort of turning circle could you expect from one? Also, if SS receive such torpedoes, whats to stop other surface vessels or CVs from expecting them as well. Potentially an interesting gimmicks but also potentially a balance nightmare or recipe for something quite overpowered. -
Nice to see some changes to Thunderer that address what seemed like obvious issues and gives me some hope for a 8x457mm RN ship that will be enjoyable to play. Quite a significant buff to accuracy and reload makes her a dangerous gun platform, as she should be. The converse changes to Ohio seem to make sense, although I'm not sure how straight up nerfs to dispersion, sigma and reload amount to " keep the ship strong in close and medium range" unless the only alternative was to nerf the secondary battery and she maintains her "close and medium range strength" as a result. But good that she does not outshine Montana. I agree with Pete regarding the SAP change, though rather than an alpha nerf I had expected the DD damage reduction to be reduced, not removed. The range improvements look healthy (the tier 8 was seriously less than 14km previously?) and I'm sure the SAP will be quite strong with ricochet angles of 80-85 degrees.

I noticed a potential problem about flags (those purchasable for doubloons), is it already known or supposed to work that way ?
Benser33 replied to Kilen2018's question in Q&A Section
So, you are saying that you dismounted your last Papa Papa flag and then played a game and the automatic resupply automatically remounted a new Papa Papa flag? I have never paid too much attention to my signal flags honestly because for a long time I've had a surplus of all kinds, but I have never noticed this behaviour myself. Would you say you could replicate this behaviour again? -
If the previous collection is any basis, after the 4th anniversary concludes the 3rd anniversary containers may appear in the armory.

The port is super cute.

As a tier 10 premium it will either be coal, steel or fxp in addition to potentially being in the premium shop.

The Japanese have their own dispersion model (better than most other BBs beyond 11km but worse at closer ranges). The Russians have their own (Better up to 11km, worse beyond) The US and the UK share a dispersion model, but where brits use ASM1 for slot 3 the high tier American BBs (and Arkansas) get dispersion mod in slot 6 for a -11% dispersion bonus compared to the -7% of ASM1. German, French and Italian BBs share a dispersion model. Alsace and Normandie have 1.6, the 16 gun Lyon has 1.5. But the nature of sigma is such that even with the worst sigma you will still see good shell grouping sometimes, its just less likely. True, I did forget that tbh.
-
With KGV having 10 guns with 25s reload and 1.8 sigma it seems more reasonable that Cali who has 12 guns at 30s reload should also have 1.8 sigma. KGV and California use the same dispersion model since US and UK BBs are on the same curve, but that doesn't mean their ballistics are the same. The 0.1 sigma difference will not often be apparent, but it will be beneficial in the long run. I am also comparing Calis armament to Arizona, the tier 6 american BB with a waterline citadel, 12x 356mm guns and 1.8 sigma. Cali could be refered to as a tier 7 Arizona, but with better AA (a lot), range (1km), HP (not even 1k), but Arizona gets 1.8 sigma for her guns that have 35 second reload time.
-
I would be comfortable with 12 guns at 1.7sigma if their calibre was more than 356mm at tier 7. Not being able to overmatch 25mm armor would cause a noticable deficiency, so it would be nice if the guns would at least behave, particularly while also having the shortest range of any tier 7 BB (with the exception of stock Sinop and KGV which both exceed 17km with their top FCS).
-
So, California is comparable to New Mexico, as California is essentially a tier 7 NM with the following differences. She gained; 1km range 4.2s faster reload 0.2 extra sigma 5k HP 1km additional secondary range 300m lower surface concealment (13.5 vs 13.8) 600m more aerial concealment though? (9.7 vs 9.1) Almost 4x more AA guns 20mm guns: Cali has 82, NM has 19 40mm guns: Cali has 56, NM has 12 127mm guns: Cali has 16, NM has 8 Some torpedo protection pressumably (WG didn't tell us what it is on Cali but its 40% on NM and supposedly Calis is good as well) Underwater citadel? (NM citadel sits at the waterline but its possible Calis citadel will be even lower, but if Calis armor model includes the turtleback that NM has then I think its unlikely the citadel will be any lower). She lost; 2 secondary guns (16 vs 18) 0.5knt of top speed 2.8s of rudder shift (14.7 vs 11.9) Has to fight tier 9s Overall, although Cali may struggle to employ 356mm guns at tier 7, particularly without the ability to overmatch the 27-30mm plating found more often on cruisers at higher tiers, I think she has gained quite a suitable amount in order to perform at tier 7. Although she has 12 guns and no dispersion mod the 1.8 sigma would be nice, many other T7 premium BBs enjoy 1.8 to 2.0 sigma and even lower tier 12 guns BBs like Arizona have 1.8. @Tanatoy Is Californias aerial detection range correct?

Ok. So, a premium stock Vladi? I'm not sure I understand if you're filling a niche here with this ship, there doesn't seem to be any particular value to it from a gameplay or historical perspective and other than its concealment I don't really see how it compared favourably to Vladi. And 356mm guns at tier 8? I don't understand it. And a CA-2D design Alaska at tier 10. Like a small Montana with radar, but in the cruiser slot. Very interesting. Not sure if I like how it looks and having 12 guns will bring an interesting change in playstyle for a T10 US CA. I like my Alaska so will be keeping a close eye on this.
-
It would be nice for the US to finally have a standard premium BB at tier 7.
-
The issue with wanting secondary spec tier 7s and below is that manual secondaries does not work the same for these ships as it does at tiers 8 to 10, making it much less efficient. At first glance I also imagined California to be a secondary BB in line with Massa, Georgia and Ohio. But the more I think about it, the less viable it seems and the less I want it.
