Gifting items from the shop to friends
Benser33 replied to ElectroSchnitzel's question in Q&A Section
You can't gift containers to players in Belgium, the payment menu will warn you of this when you select the gift recipient if their region is Belgium. I don't know why you think you can't do it in the UK, theres no law against them. You will need a register an account in that region and then gift normally through that regions shop as you would for someone in your own region. The NA shop has no idea of the names of players in EU and in the case of duplicate names a gift bought in the NA shop will go the NA version of the player and not the EU one if EU was your intended recipient. -
Aerosol Smoke Curtain System - Slot 5 2,500,000 Credits Allows the ship to maneuver in smoke areas at low speeds. +150% to total smoke screen generation time. –10% to ship consumables reload time. –5% to detectability range by sea. –15% to duration of smoke screen. Minotaur only. (this effectively turns the smoke into crawling smoke, allowing minotaur to continue to move at 1/4r speed for about 40s until the consumable ends, after which the smoke cloud lasts another ~90s. Yes, an aerosol is any particulate suspended in a gas. So fog, for example, is a naturally occuring aerosol. Smoke also is an aerosol. But, this more likely refers to a method of producing the smoke screen by releasing particles from a compressed canister, such as compressed titanium tetrachloride which turns into a white cloud on contact with any sort of humid air, as opposed to the more frequent method of evaporating oil into a white cloud by injecting it into the smoke stack.

Well so far the german CVs have both the fastest moving torps and the shortest arming time, for a good CV player a targets reaction time is essentially the arming time so you're looking at 3/3.5/4s to react to the German CV torps. For me, these are perfectly adequate for hitting DDs with. DD players should beware of these torps, they do not hit very hard by they are quite a lot easier to hit with than any of the other nations so far and are reasonably a German CVs best tool against DDs. It will probably take a while for more of the playerbase to realise this.
-
I find I have to scroll out to zoom out with the german bombers more than I did with other nations and I have lost track of the fighter reticle a few times but not had any issues with the torps.

What these? -
But MvR makes up for the lacking DD hunting ability (which it is not useless at, it can hit DDs surprisingly well with the unexpectedly fast torps) with its ability to commit damage to other parts of the team. It just doesnt hunt them down mercilessly with rockets.

There was an issue earlier with the web services such as the armory and the clan tab, but I think it has been resolved now.
-
I suggest trying to just log out and back in to the launcher first.

thats the point

I believe you get access to the armory category, you cant buy the ability to reset lines. -
Completing the German CV directives awards German Carrier containers which have a chance to contain a combat mission that rewards Rhein, Weser and Parseval. https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/general-news/german-carriers-early-access/ This has been going on for almost four weeks, unfortunately if you do not have Weser at this stage it is most likely you wont have it in time to do the mission. Yesterday was the last day to complete the directives that awarded the above containers for a chance to obtain Weser. You can buy some premium containers and hope that you get the mission that awards Weser from that, but it does not seem worth doing at this stage because the german carriers will become freely available on Thursday, but by then it will be too late to complete the mission for the permacamo.

Yes, like the RU & US variants for Ovechkin. -
Since patch 0.9.5 the language of the client is no longer restricted by the region of the client so it is no longer necessary to change any preferences manually, you can simply install the client for EU and select whichever language you want. https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/game-updates/update-095-dockyard/#other-changes

I believe you will only gain access to the Research Bureau category of the armory. -
You are not the only person in the world to have worked in customer support or at a service desk. Could it be better? Sure. Is it difficult to log a ticket? No. And no, your problem is not common, yet it is neither difficult to navigate through the options presented nor is it unnecessary that the other options exist. Someone who works in CS should be familiar with what to expect and why the interface is presented as it is.

From the article But still, having 10,800 RP is worthless to people who cant reset lines to grind more because the only things worth buying cost 50-60k RP. -
Providing people with common solutions to problems or providing automated self services so that real people don't need to waste time telling people basic information is a frequent measure in customer support. Password reset is one such common self service function, imagine if every password reset required a real person to complete, this would require a lot more staff and take more time for customers. As for your problem, I had no difficulty finding a ticket form that I would consider relevant to encountering black screens while playing the game. From the Player Support homepage Contact Support is the orange button at the bottom... From there I chose Technical issue, and from there I can choose either Game Crash or Graphics/Performance issue and both provide me with a ticket form I can fill in. That took me three clicks from the homepage to reach a ticket I could fill in. If you know of a way that you can cause the game to black screen every time that you share the steps you take to reproduce the problem. They will probably ask you to make sure that graphics drivers and such are up to date with is generally a good practise anyway. I know that some players have problems with a black screen caused by playing the game in Fullscreen and can get around the problem by playing in Windowed Fullscreen.

The ship is based upon an italian destroyer leader project called UP 39, a predecessor of the Capitani Romani, if I remember correctly and the gameplay conccept was, as you say, originally developed in collaboration with CCs. From WG:

Why do you think I am comparing them as if they fight each other? That is a useless comparison. I am comparing them as if you were playing either. The reason for that is because the batteries of both ships are very comparable. If I was to sit and shoot at stationary bots with Alsace and then do the same with Pommern I would expect a very similar experience. The more significant differences between them are the hulls, and somehow Pommern is in fact not that different from Alsace in many ways. We essentially have two ships who wield 12x 380mm guns in a very similar way, and one does so with a fast but weak hull that seeks flanks and attacks from range and one does so with a hull that has the HP, armor and tools like secondaries and torps to succeed a bit more aggresively. Pommern can also just trade with Alsace with main guns, because it has almost the same damage output as alsace while also having much better armor and more HP. But again, comparing them as if they fight each other is pointless, you cant compare if there are other people involved or if there is any terrain in the way. You can only compare them as if they fight totally 1v1 in the open which is not a practical comparison. Yes the launchers are also 6km, they are a very minor benefit to the ship. It is nice to have launchers with good angles because it is quite a large amount of damage you can threaten to do in close quarters but thats it. What Pommern brings over FdG is damage output. 101k damage from a salvo of FdGs faster firing 406s, 108k from the 420s. Pommerns 12 380mm guns can do up to 140k with a salvo and 12 guns have the benefit of being more consistent at dealing some of that damage when you fire, although the sigma is slowly getting worse and worse... (because for people who do not notice the trend of sigma being lower when the number of guns increases, which is true for many ships, sigma is being lowered to ensure the ship cannot consistently hit with 75% of its shells every time it fires). And JB works because MBRB is a powerful tool to take advantage of those times when you are not victim to lacking overmatch or when successfully flanking or coordinating firestarting on targets who have used damage control. What Pommern trades with FdG is the ability to overmatch 27mm in exchange for a much higher alpha (and actually higher damage per minute despite the much longer reload), although I don't know if with this sigma that it will really deal the 10% more damage over time than FdG does or if the sigma will bring it in line, but seeing as Alsace is currently dealing, on average, around 20% more damage per game than FdG is currently we should expect the guns on Pommern to be more dangerous than FdGs, and Pommern does get the torps in addition. Pommern also has worse AA than FdG (despite being covered in new, fictional quad barrel 30mm Flak 38s) and doesnt have an catapult aircraft.

Nothing says you cant use the main guns at range in a similar way to Alsace before an appropriate time to close the distance arises. At distance you have the time to angle against return fire and Pommerns ability to turn is very similar to Alsace (910m vs 940m turning circle, 16.6s vs 17.3s rudder shift time) and the gun performance is mostly comparable. Pommerns gun angles are worse, it can fire them all towards the rear at 40° which is only 10° off for most ricochet angles. So, ultimately, the difference between them is Alsaces ability to place itself on a flank. Sure, Pommern cant position itself as quickly as Alsace because it lacks engine boost but it can also position somewhat more aggressively because it can resist a lot of HE and it probably wont mind being pushed so it can kite something in secondary range and utilise that armor and the torps.
-
Sigma worse than Alsace. Dispersion is better, but a pommern with secondary mod instead of aiming systems will have worse dispersion. Built with ASM Pommern has a slight dispersion advantage, Alsace has a sigma advantage. Alsace has the highest salvo alpha of the tier 9 BBs, Pommern has 2nd. Alsace has the highest overall AP DPM of the tier 9 BBs, Pommern has the 2nd. Pommern shells are slightly slower and have ~5% less penetration. Alsace is faster with engine boost, slightly better AA. Pommern is well armored, has usable secondaries, has torps and hydro. Not convinced that Pommern is underperformaning atm and with its main battery firepower is competitive with Alsace at despite having a more forgiving hull.

By not creating pay to win ships that ruin the game? Ok

Despite having a higher number of DP and AA mounts the tier 8 Belfast somehow has worse AA in all respects compared to tier 7 Belfast? Pleased to finally see Nevada.
