ST 0.9.10, Arpeggio of Blue Steel and Black Friday (DB 86)
Benser33 replied to Tanatoy's topic in Development Blog
It means ARP Yamato will be subject to all of the balancing changes made to Yamato herself. -
You'll probably find out the same time as the rest of us. You're thinking of the steel campaign from the year before last I think? There's a bunch of content planned for the new year, including steel snowflakes and two campaigns but Im not aware of either campaign having steel as a reward.

Why GPU usage is very high on the main menu?
Benser33 replied to bluepanther99's question in Q&A Section
This is because the armory is a webpage and the port UI features a slow, flash based integrated browser. https://armory.worldofwarships.eu/en/ -
Could be you got multiple reports and received a second extended ban ontop of the first after the first was issued.

Last years ones might be available but there are definitely new ones, they're in the blog post. -
Consider posting here if you have suggestions;
-
Your properties window says you are trying to open them with Client Runner which is not what you should expect to see. Can you check my post here and see if that sorts your problem?

I would love her a lot more if she didn't have such awful ballistics at range. Great torps though. -

Campaign reward Strasbourg is lovely, I was looking forward to this ship so to earn her for free is endearing. I am sure the free tier 5 permacamos will also be appreciated by others. Snowflakes that reward Coal over 3 tiers, Steel over 2 tiers and Containers for tier 10. For this I am very grateful. Kure Harbour looks great, I found the city ports of previous years seasonal but somewhat claustrophobic. Dockyard Hizen, as someone who enjoys the Dockyard mechanic a lot this also excites me, the Dockyard design looks new (I feared oversaturating events with Dockyards would start to damage some of the shine from the spectacle with a sense of repeated use of art assets and such) and two more free premiums among the rewards is generous, even if Tachibana is low tier and Yahagi is rather underpowered and unpopular... Hizens dockyard camo is also quite pretty in my opinion. Concerns lie with one thing. 4 stages for Hizen that must be purchased means a minimum spend of 7,800 dubloons to obtain her. This is a pretty good price for a tier 9 premium BB for sure (and most likely some coal or steel as one of the other rewards in the final four stages), and perhaps there will be another "starter" bundle that contains a few stages at a discounted rate so the price may be lower still. So the concern really is, will people be required to retire from their jobs and families to stand any hope of obtaining the 22 free stages needed to receive the ship? Will the directives be full of "cause 6 million damage" and "kill 45 ships" and "incapacitate 200 modules", or have you really learned your lesson from last year? Tentatively pleased with the announced content, I hope for a New Year event like I used to enjoy in the past. I hope WG truly asks their community to do nothing more than play their game a bit over the new year period and reward us for being a passionate playerbase.- 35 replies

Not sure what to make of the Italian BBs. Dante Alighieri and Conte di Cavour both look great. Lepanto looks surprisingly small for a tier 9 with a 12 gun salvo, but for a ship with 18km range she has a frankly massive 17.1km surface concealment and 15.8km smoke firing concealment. Much like CCs 17.8km surface concealment and (I assume) 16.4km smoke firing concealment I'm not entirely sure I see the point of them even having smoke. Next we have what finally and most certainly appears to be a horribly named ship based on UP.41. I assume we will see something like 115mm of penetration on the SAP, with SAP shell damage rivalling USN 457mm guns and the ability to overmatch 27mm of armor these seem very dangerous indeed, particularly for destroyers who can look forward to >5k regular penetration damage from these shells. For lacking the smoke consumable she has a much better surface concealment compared to Lepanto. I'm keen to see her armor scheme in more detail, but not as keen as I am to finally see her ingame. Please do, though, increase the shell velocity. Fen Yang seems like a frankly ridiculous idea. A ship that is for most intents superior to Akizuki, with equal or superior stats in almost every category. Slightly superior AA, the option of DFAA instead of engine boost, smoke with 20s less duration but 60s less recharge time, torpedos with 2km extra range that have half the reaction time of akizukis, 1.1s faster rudder shift and the ability to mount the PAN unique commanders with improved DE and SE. And all it costs is 700 hp (19,700), 10s of torpedo reload time (122s) and the ability to torp cruisers and DDs? Like I said, ridiculous. Lastly, Vampire 11. A tier 10 commonwealth DD based on Daring. Interesting but I'm not totally convinced. 1km additional range on Darings guns seems like a useless addition. 1k less HP than Daring is an unfortunate change. The reload time of 3.5s which is 0.7s slower than Darings is quite a painful change, bringing her DPM down from Darings respectable 218k base DPM to a mere 175k. Another painful reduction in the threat this ship poses is the loss of a torpedo launcher, removed to create more accomodation much like the real ship so little improvement to the AA to speak of here either. The reload time is even retained, the single launcher takes a full 125s to reload, not receiving the notable increase that Cossack did. Manouverability mostly unchanged, although a tiny 0.2s increase in rudder shift time does exist. Concealment remains identical. So the most siginficant changes are all mostly reductions in her ability to fight, reduced DPM, reduced health, reduced torpedo capacity. When we look at her consumables we can also see that repair party is gone, combined with reduced HP this further reduces Vampires ability to trade with other DDs quite substantially. In exchange she receives engine boost, not very useful on a ship whose benefits involve crawling and whos max speed is only 35knts as standard All of the positive benefits of the ship are confined to the remaining two consumables; 90 seconds of crawling smoke with access to a 5km hydro that is actually better in terms of total parameters than even the German T9 Hydro. Whether crawling smoke is a viable/positive alternative to RN DD smoke for gunnery or rather just inferior is debatable. So essentially, it's a tier 10 Haida. It has a few advantages over Haida generally (torps are a bit longer, hydro reaches a bit further, Vampire probably has the improved AP) and Haida works quite well at her tier but tier 10 is another thing entirely.

No theyre nerfing the dispersion so the shells do hit the other flamable compartments of the ship rather than all hitting the middle. Raising the dispersion to hit slightly higher wont cause them to deviate towards the ends of larger targets.
-
They still still wont hit the bow/stern.
-
Even if the secondaries are bad at penetration they can still start fires, but secondaries that mostly hit the center because of artificially improved accuracy will rarely start bow/stern fires. But the Italians are not overall very impressive secondary ships, unfortunately.

ST 0.9.10, balance changes and changes to test ships. (DB 87)

While this is true, this is specifically Belfasts 1943 configuration we are supposedly getting. However, historical accuracy is becoming increasingly weak in WG standards. -

Bigger salvo than Pommern with faster shells, more overmatch, better dispersion beyond 8km, better sigma, better turning, access to a catapult. It also used to have better range and concealment, now it has 1km worse range and 100m worse concealment. Pommern obviously has access to torps, viable secondaries, a well protected citadel and more HE resistant deck, hydro and has main guns that reload and turn faster. But, Hizen has a dangerous battery by comparison still. -
total EXP boost in % for using signal flags
Benser33 replied to Aethervoxx's question in Q&A Section
Warships premium increases base exp by 65% Signals ESCL 50% Red Dragon 100% Hydra 50% Basilisk 75% Scylla 50% Leviathan 50% Mosaic Camo 400% First Win of the Day 50% and 5% EXP bonus from a clan at most combine to make a 830% exp boost These two things (cumulative bonuses and the premium bonus) are separate, multiplative modifiers so; 1 * 1.65 * 8.3 = 1369.5% exp boost meaning 1000 base exp with all of these modifiers would become 13,695 exp. I'm not sure if there are any modifiers that can bring the total modifier higher than that -

Colombo must have been pretty strong to get such a hammering. I dont understand the change to Leone, but this ship has seemed like a mistake from the start. I'm sure you still haven't even given the guns the right names yet. More Hizen nerfs, guess this thing really was very strong. Z-44 is still a horrible concept and the ship does not deserve to sit at tier 9. You did the right thing by moving Z-35 down from T9 to T8 so why create yet another stupid 1936B hull DD at tier 9? It doesn't make any sense. -
Reseting a Tech Line: What happen with the accumulated experience ?
Benser33 replied to neorvo's question in Q&A Section
This part just describes that all of the ships except the Tier 1 ship will need to be researched again. This part describes how all of the research done on each individual ship is also undone, so the module research such as upgrades hulls and FCS must also be researched again. And this part explains what happens to other things related to the reset. Upgrades on ships are sent to your inventory, Commanders on ships are sent to the reserve and XP on ships is sent to the tier 1. Thus, why my Erie has almost 2m exp on it. -
Tzoli is high explosive

Reseting a Tech Line: What happen with the accumulated experience ?
Benser33 replied to neorvo's question in Q&A Section
All of the exp accumulated on the silver ships is transfered to the tier 1 ship of that nation. Full details on the specifics in the official article; https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/game-updates/research-bureau/ -
Seems like Hizens firepower is quite strong.

Wow, good spot. Unfortunate that WG recently are too lazy to fix things like this. -
Yes, and if it could get the same benefit from Manual Secondaries it would have better accuracy too.
-
Can you show us what the properties of one of the replay files looks like?
-
You're right, I did miss this change. I transcribe patch notes into some documentation of my own so I can track changes to ships over their development and I have the other changes from that devblog post but not the Oklahoma change. Although I am relieved to see the penetration is infact more normal than the previous penetration which was ridiculously low.
