Well, my first ever game in a Midway confirmed for me that no matter what you do, if the team wants to suicide, it'll suicide.

I swear I'm getting deja vu.

Impossible play with DD after this CV rework
Pandafaust replied to Mydgard's topic in General Discussion
Unless they're Beast's aircraft's, as they seek out the fluffy black marshmallows of fun. -
If it helps to clarify my earlier comment, I'd definitely say that there were many instances during the cross server clan battles test season a month or so back when I did see ships being incredibly vulnerable to air attack.
-
I have found no instances of ships in this season's clan battles being vulnerable to air attack.

If you have to attack a ship with strong AA, then yes wearing down its AA mounts with some HE spam is a good idea (especially ships such as the RN BBs, which tend to cluster many of the mounts in one easily crushable spot). For the same reason, if you're in an HE spamming surface ship, it's quite helpful for the friendly CV if you soften these targets up a bit for them in advance when you get an opportunity to do so.

Not sure on the second, I always found that my karma went steadily up if doing well in a CV. Also, I vaguely recall @El2aZeR saying he had 500 karma or something quite a while back, so . . . Generally, I find so long as you're not an aggressive nugget in the chat, and you're making a genuine effort to win/assist, then your karma will at worst maintain its level.

Bearcat 3xTiT sealclubs ( lower tier ) Cruisers
Pandafaust replied to Beastofwar's topic in General Discussion
In fairness to Shaka, it sounds like his alternative is demonstrably superior to the traditional alternative. This isn't the case with secondary speccing CVs in order to blitz attacking DDs. That said, I really don't mind what tactics people choose to use, unless they lose me games by doing it - knock yourself out, bud. -
Unrealistic, certainly, but necessary for gameplay purposes nonetheless.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Pandafaust replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
I haven't heard of any localised MM parameters, but I haven't noticed any particular preponderance of German/French players over English, either. -
To be fair, you could do the same with mine for Battleships. I just can't get the hang of them at all, whereas I find DDs, Cruisers and CVs pretty comfortable to play.
-
Indeed, @namuras is right - it would also be just as easy to find people who, say, barely scrape 28k damage in the Midway. By the OPs logic could we then demand that it gets a major buff?

Impossible play with DD after this CV rework
Pandafaust replied to Mydgard's topic in General Discussion
To be honest, I always find standard battle the easiest to win in as a CV, as you're not gimped so much by any inability of your team to contest cap points. Just need to smash the enemy team around as it ambles down across an entire map. -
As @Panocek pointed out, so long as you get the timing right (approximately), they come in on the reinforced sector and leave through the reinforced sector. Essentially, sector switching is just a test of your ability to predict aircraft speed and path, and your ability to multitask if making other manoeuvres at the same time.

Just finished up a match with @The_Finnsterand @ColonelPete - should have been a fairly easy win but it got a little hairy towards the end due to a spate of suicides (mine included, I'm sorry to say) and the reds managed to finish last-man Pete in his lightning with the dying breath of a moskva radar. -
Atlanta (VII) - shooting range 15,5 kms???

I've offered just as much proof as the OP, what more could you possibly want? -
Atlanta (VII) - shooting range 15,5 kms???
Pandafaust replied to Yaskaraxx's topic in General Discussion
I know everyone thinks that @Yaskaraxx is mistaken on this due to the trifling issues of it not having happened, and the refusal to provide a replay. However, I have it on good authority that it definitely did happen, and Yask doesn't want to show it because shortly after the first salvo he managed to sink the Atlanta with some long range deepwater torps from his Boise, and he doesn't want to get into trouble for having used them.- 73 replies

Just adding to the general earlier comments re: sound - I've had quite a few battles now where the sound has completely cut out mid-game, it's incredibly frustrating to play like it, with no audio cues to give warnings of torp detections (and direction) etc. On another sound note, the continuing bug with fairly nearby planes suddenly triggering a maximum volume 3 second burst of engine-like white noise is still randomly occurring.

You get 15k credits per duplicate (and with some collections you also lose the ability to collect more duplicates once complete). So essentially, by waiting to get the last collectable, you gain a minimum of 75k. It's not much, but hey, it's free. Btw just to clarify my earlier guess, I'm going with @KeeperOfTheDungeon getting a further 10 duplicates and getting the one you need on the 11th item :-)
-
I'm going to go with 11 - what do we get if we win?
-
I vaguely recall seeing that they start auto-opening on collection once you have more than 999 of them available.

How is your Crown & Florin collecting (for the 3x RN CVs) going on?
Pandafaust replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Currently sitting on 150 crowns / 800 florins after having bought Hermes - I should be okay to get Furious, but Implacable's going to join the collection via the usual grind. For the credits loss on CVs thing, I'm just not seeing it. Even after a bad match, I'd be making credits even with premium disabled - it's not like you're replacing a ton of consumables like you would in the US light cruisers or something. -
Cheers bud, that clears up my question nicely. Quote sniping is just where you take a tiny element of someone's longer post and ignore the rest of it - usually it's an annoying tactic people use in debates, when they have no answer for the rest of the post.
