Oh but the MM is not fine. There is for example no proper distribution of DD's or radar ships, tier 7 is a mess of powercreep and with the current MM algorithm tier 7 are almost always top tier which means that tier 5-6 play in uptiered games 3/4 of the games.

This game is far from perfect, and certain shiplines and the whole premium ship buisness certainly needs sorting out. However it's still fun IMO, and it manages to hit my addiction spot lately a lot more than WoT for example that suffer far worse premium and balance problems.

Things are getting worst, u must change something

Is there really a massive problem with "killstealers" during these kill focused missions though? I certainly have a hard time telling if one guy deliberately holds his fire or if he just happens to ge the kill. The problem is more to the point that people play like headless chickens when there is a time limited campaign on. The rest of the campaigns are virtually unlimited as far as time is concerned so those are rarely a problem (atleast you don't notice them). As for the "camping" Clevelands, well that is what a Cleveland does. It finds an island and then punish everything trying to get near it. And are you 100% sure those Clevelands truly waited or did they just happen to reload in time to get the final blow? And removing kill missions are not a terrible idea, but those "parasites" you speak of will then just pick some high damage ship and purely focus on damage and nothing else. So we are not really removing one problem, we are merely shifting it around. -
It isn't. It's purely down to RNG and luck.

What is your highest amount of credits?
ollonborre replied to Themisto97's topic in General Discussion
Gamescom gives you 50% increase in credits. Ocean soul gives you 20%. -
You are not doing anything wrong per se. All the German BB's are pretty much impossible to citadel under normal circumstances thanks to turtleback armor:

La Galissonniere just a bad ship or am i doing something wrong?
ollonborre replied to SovietFury43's topic in General Discussion
Bad turret placement? Having superfiring turrets at the front and a blistering 15 sec traverse is in my mind pretty damn good placement. Concealment is just 1 km worse than the Cleveland but on the other hand you get 16 km of range with pretty flat arcs so there is that. Armor is paper though, but with speedboost you can evasive tank fairly well provided you keep a bit of distance. The guns are mainly why I enjoyed it. 9 sec reload is not great but it is manageble and you got a decent fire chance. However for some reason I found the AP to be very good, I had no problem citadeling cruisers at 12-13 km. Basically you need to play this ship at full speed constantly unless you find an island. Take pot shots at BB's with HE and suprise broadside cruisers with AP volleys (or BB's too for that matter). -
How would you improve the skill of player base?

I'm pretty tired at the moment so I'm not fully sure what you mean. In this case what I mean is saying that just because you manage a good game in a widely considered bad ship and then ending your post by saying that since you managed to perform well in the Krym all cruiser whine is unfounded and cruisers should just l2p instead is in my oppinion not constructive in the cruiser vs BB argument. Sorry for offtopic. -
With good situational awarness in a secondary focused ship manual secondaries are much more flexible since it means you can actually rely on the fact that the target you have selected will take damage and either be forced to turn away or continue with the risk of taking large amounts of damage, while you focus all your primary firepower on a second target. If a third target pops up then you simply need to assess the situation and prioritise by HP or overall danger to you. It is a personal preference sure, but if I went secondary focus on a ship I would never not take manual secondaries for reasons stated above.

My point is that throwing down one great game in a discussion that mainly revolves around long term averages is irrelevant. I could put up the Arizona game where I did 160k damage and then say BB's are utterly broken at tier 6 due to that one great game while in reality tier 6 BB's sport tons of problems in their own right. -
It might seem like you loose half your potential secondaries, but in reality the hit ratio means that manual secondaries increases your overall secondary firepower. Better to have your secondaries really harass and potentially kill one target than having them score the ocassional hit on 2 targets.

Not saying that a 60k damage game in a tier 5 cruiser in a tier 7 game is bad, but it is not great and kind of a bad example in the whole cruiser vs BB argument. -
No battleships are staying in non influential positions and are passive due to a lack of understanding their role (and a bunch of other gimmicks WG in their wisdom decided was going to balance out the BB population). And if you want to talk about the firespam, why not bring up the worst offenders in that regard, the RN BB's? But they can't be the problem surely since they are BB's.

HEPL! Mogami, the lovable scamp - Playing tips, if you have any?
ollonborre replied to RAHJAILARI's topic in General Discussion
I use my Mogami with the 155 IFHE and ofc concealment expert. However I have fallen for the rudder module instead of the concealment module. 10 km concealment is still very nice and once you do get spotted around 4 seconds of rudder shift makes you really hard to hit. However islands are your true friend. It is no Cleveland but you can lob shells without much issue over most landmasses. And that is it pretty much, I use islands whenever possible and rely on manuverability when I'm not in cover and so far it is working pretty well. -
I would argue yes. The secondaries outrange your torps, they are more reliable in terms of hitting and causing crits and applying damage over time and by boosting your secondaries with for example AFT you are also boosting your AA. Torps are even more situational than secondaries and IMO should be used in conjunction with your secondaries for maximum effect, not replacing them.

The Gneisenau is a polarising ship, you either hate it or love it. I hated it, I just could not get along with the guns at all and that was the deciding factor for me. But the ship itself is great. Fast, great armor, great AA and torps. So what I did to make it work for me is to go secondary focus and get stupidly close to enemies. With the secondaries and torps you slightly offset the derp nature of the guns and can make the thing work. So basically the closer you get the more dangerous you become. The trick is to not rush in to early and not chew on your keyboard in frustration when you miss 3 volleys in a row on a beached broadside Schors from 10-6 km.

Does that not apply to yourself with this garbage thread?

It is a relatively quick way to aquire large amounts of flags like bushwacker said and also getting that nice service cost reduction flag. And since there are a lower amount of players it is also easier getting the flags from certain medals like High caliber and confederate.

After a pretty bad session playing a secondary specced Graf Spee in a operation is just fun and weirdly relaxing. Rewards are nice and you get to dust of ships that you normally would not play or have touched in ages. I find CooP to be pretty unrewarding garbage, but operations are the complete opposite. Sure it is not very hard and the AI barely evolve past "rush headlong into battle guns blazing", but it is again, fun.

The ones where you have to play the Duke of York does.
-
Did you also collect the ones you get from playing the Duke of York itself? Because those missions give a total of 5 extra containers aswell.

Have not made it to the campaign that requires purely BB's yet (is it 3 or 4? Can't remember of the top of my head) since I just started the North Cape this evening. Still the first missions up until the final task on the 2 part was stupidly easy with the BB heavy MM right now. Unlocked the final task in part 2 in just 9 games, so currently I'm not really complaining about cruiser focused missions. Neither does my Cleveland for that matter

While this might be the case it still does not change the fact that it is an inferior Leander that looses firepower, heal and torps for better AA and HE (but still fewer guns and low RoF so not much of a trade IMO).

If the camos got cheaper or if "too many" camos got distributed in the christmas boxes causing inflation then that could change the sales price of the camos.

Same here. XP camos are incredibly useful even if you don't need the XP for grinding, as you can use them for free XP farming and Captain grinding. So if you have 900 of them selling then instead of putting them on every ship in your port is well, stupid.
