Need for speed: Duca vs. Molotov?

It's funny that you enjoy the Furutaka and not the Myoko, since the Myoko is just a Furutaka but better at everything. You get 2 more turrets and 1 sec faster reload with longer range so your gun performance is a huge improvement. Gun angles are also pretty good if you are preaimed and while the torp angles are not great the torps and amount of them you get are great for a cruiser so IMO it balances out. If it does not click for you then sure, but it is an upgrade in virtually every way.

    Wargamings Pointsystem

Will jump on the replay train. Because if the Benson only took one cap and did spotting the rest of you must have done bugger all like El2aZeR said.

    Best destroyer at Tier 7?

Never played the Leningrad or Minsk but they are annoying as hell and if it is a gunboat you want go for them. But for overall versitility I vote for the Maass (with atleast a 10 point captain however, you really need CE to get the most out of it). It has good guns with nasty AP DPM when close enough and given broadside but pretty poor HE, still workable. Torps are good enough, not terrible reload, damage is ok and they are fast. But it is the Hydro that makes this ship a great cap bully, and with SE you get a nice HP pool so it can trade favourably.

Need for speed: Duca vs. Molotov?

Worst? Sometimes different but in general a big upgrade from tier 6. Only exceptions being the Pensacola that is a completely different ship from the Cleveland and the Yorck, that also is more of a transition ship. The rest are basically full on upgrades. Myoko- More armor, great firepower, better torps. Fiji- 33% more firepower, better torps, tankier. Schors- A bit squishier, but more range and firepower. Algerie- Longer range, bigger guns, better AA.

    To Many Aircraft Carriers?

But still having a class that at maximum is 2 per side sometimes and gets fewer fewer and fewer to the point that it is the least played ship by a huge margain, and then claim there are too many is not quite right. CV's are almost extinct even if you encounter 1 per 5 games you play.

    Zao: rudder or concealment?

It's not situational, it is completely obsolete. Every possible role this module can offer captain skills and consumables do better. If you want to play a DD hunter 99% of the time it has something in its toolbox that can find DD's and torps in smoke. If it does not and you run the module regardless you are wasting a ship thats is most likely designed to do something else for a role it can't effectively do. The other 2 modules are vastly better and actually offer something to a ship. Target aquisition offers nothing in its current state and probably never will.

    Zao: rudder or concealment?

From the front, yes. But when you start to angle away that armor becomes flatter and the rest of the hull starts to catch more shells. So when you are kiting away you need to rely on WASD hacks or otherwise you will melt quickly in my experince with the ship.

    Zao: rudder or concealment?

Like you put it yourself, the Zao has armor that works and a heal. The Mogami is made out tinfoil and has a citadel that I swear extend outside the ship, so it benefits more from having a 3.4 sec ruddershift. And like kartoffelmos said a 9.7 km concealment cruiser with railguns that fire napalm drenched HE which sneaks close to your fellow DD's is brutal.

    No more cruisers

Someone did post a chart with class distributions for different tiers a whie back, and if I recall correctly tier 7-8 are the tiers where the MM consist of nearly 50% BB's from time to time. So having that many BB's in tier 8 ranked is only "natural" if you get what I mean. That being said cruisers in general still have their place and still perform well on nearly every tier (tier 10 being the tier where classes are fairly evenly split). The problem is that in ranked tier 8 BB's are the easiest ships to carry with since you have the survivability, firepower and speed to be effective. Tier 10 ranked will be more balanced since tier 10 cruisers can still hold their own very well, and in for example tier 7 ranked cruisers where the most common class.

    Team damage penalty optional

Secondaries can still fire and hit your allies, however those instances that happend my secondaries did 0 damage. Could be a fluke or intentional, I don't know for sure.

modifying ship slots (inventory i guess?)

Well yes, but from the OP response it sounded like he thought he would not get any money what so ever from selling ships. It is a loss of money yes, but not a total loss.

modifying ship slots (inventory i guess?)

You sold your tier 1 ship, they are free to purchase and thus you don't gain any money from selling them. Starting from tier 2 you will get money back when you sell ships.

    aa build for hipper

I would go manual AA if you don't intend to use defensive AA, and DE instead of SI if it is a permanent captain for the Hipper.

    Torpedo dud

The thing is that in this case you are, as others already have said, wrong. Torps are the most unreliable weapons in the game due to: - Generally long reload times. - A weapon you can spot in a myriad of ways. - You can simply make small adjustments in your manuvering and be untouchable. - Damage saturation affects torps hard. - Very limited range compared to guns.

    about PVE!!

When it comes to the fire thing, well it has been a topic for over 2 years now and it continues to pop up despite beeing a mechanic in an arcade game and also proven (in a way) in real life and most are just sick of hearing all the time. The rest of the topic however I can't see much whining, just complaining about a dysfunctional game mode.

    about PVE!!

Aaah this brings me back to the countless whine topics during beta. On topic, certian operations are a bit buggy (objectives not getting completed despite the fact that you do complete them, pathfinding of bots, forts not firing etc). Report the bugs and hope WG can be arsed to fix them.

    Space Ships!

Actually you gave no indication that it still isn't working after domens answer. And if it still is not working you must be doing something wrong, do you have screenshots so we can walk you through it and perhaps see what might be the problem?

    Mogami rudder shift module

Yeah Mogami with 155, IFHE and Rudder module is the way to go: Even without IFHE I would still argue that the 155 is the way to go. The DPM and firechance is still higher without it and you wreck DD's like no other.

    World of Warships lacks atmosphere

Personally I find WoWs to be pretty immersive for what it is, an arcade style naval combat game. And I tend to enjoy more arcade style games since they are quite simply more fun. Realism has its perks in terms of immersion I agree, but sometimes realistic mechanics becomes boring and tedious because they are boring and tedious in real life. For example playing spintires for 2 hours trying to get out of a ditch can be alright amounts of fun since you do it from the comfort of your home. Having your APC bury itself in a frozen marsh at -35 and getting it out takes the better part of 5 hours is not much fun and not something I want to experience again when I get home but this time without the physical work.

    Operation Hermes

The quality of play have always been atrocious in operations. So when they bumped up the difficulty you suddenly had to carry a bit more than you used too. Yes I was caught a bit offguard in the aeorodome operation, but then I adjusted and not much changed really. You can't play like a headless chicken anymore and still win, you actually have to put some effort in.

    MM sucks balls

Just had 2 defeats in a row. MM is clearly rigged and it had nothing to do that I sailed broadside on like a potato in front of 5 BB's in both games because my situational awarness at times is that of a cat with a minitaure fishing rod attached to its head.
  22. ollonborre

    MM sucks balls

It's funny that it's always MM fault when you enter a loosing streak, but once things are going well it's suddenly "nah I'm just awesome". MM screws over everyone equally, and sometimes you just play like crap, happens to everyone.

First impression and need some help

*Laughs in Clemson* USN DD's are not weak early on. Their torp range is not great, but they have sufficent range, large amounts of torps, good gunpower and great smokes. The rest is pretty accurate though. Other than that welcome to the forums OP. It is a very welcome sight to see people owing up to their own lack of knowledge in order to become better

    Battleship Kawashi ?

Tier 3 BB's are in general awful, slow, shortranged RNG shotguns. So no you are not missing anything special. That being said they still teach valuable lessons in positioning since your range is short and the speed bad. However BB's in general don't start to become proper ships so to say until tier 4.

    Vigilance don't work

Vigiliance increases the chance to detect torpedoes. It does not increase torpedo range.
