    belfast set up

This build pretty much. Alternatively you could switch out EM for JOA as the Belfast is stack full of consumables.

Ibuki, the weakest link of IJN Cruisers?

Ruddershift Mogami with a dedicated IFHE captain is pretty good tbh. Ibuki, well I never liked the IBuki. It's not awful, it is a stealthy 203 mm armed cruiser with great torps so there is that. It's just not that big of a step up from the Mogami as the only things you gain is range and a heal (ok it sounds like much but it really isn't). It is just an underwhelming cruiser. Mogami with 155 and IFHE can put out some outstanding DPM and is really nimble and you can use those torps a lot mroe since the playstyle promotes it. Ibuki spams HE at range, and that is pretty much it. You are still flimsy and the only redeeming factor is range and a heal. On a side note, the weird reload progression is probably a relic from the Beta. In the Beta the Myoko used to be tier 8 and the Mogami tier 7. They then switched the tiers but barely changed anything. So the Myoko became top tier forever and the Mogami sat in a corner and cried if you put the 203 mm guns on it.

A Newbie Question - HOW can they hit me instantly ?

Bit of both I would imagine. Speaking out of personal experience, I spectated several really good players in Red Orchestra and Rising Storm, and could not believe how they could see people sometimes through thick foliage and get the godlike timing of being exactly where they needed to be at exactly the right time. Still it did help to watch those players. I am still not that good at the games even though I enjoy them, but I am enjoying them much more after getting that sort of eye opener.

A Newbie Question - HOW can they hit me instantly ?

Going to have to erase these thoughts out of your mind. Yes there are some iffy mods, yes some of them work. But most of these just help bad players get up to average levels. Good or really good players will just be hindered by such mods as stated above. Aiming comes from practice and in some cases pure guesswork. And if you go around blaming mods or cheats you will never improve on a personall level.

    Operation Narai

You need to open your wallet in order to win. Slight sarcasm aside (not by much honestly) Narai is currently on the border of Cherry Blossom easy and Ultimate Frontier frustrating. Get a team that communicates and have played the operation before, pretty fun and somehwat easy. Get suiciding cruisers and passive BB's, or alternatively people that refuse to tell eachother what they are doing, you are pretty certainly going to loose.

IFHE on Gearing YY gunboat builds.

IFHE on DD's in general is a waste. Those 4 points are often better spent elsewhere, and if you really want better gunpower BFT, DE and in some cases AFT provide more useful bonuses overall.

    Japanese Destroyers

I know right. And when people have been yelling for torp buffs for over a year they did actually give it a small detection buff to the 12 km torps from 1.9 to 1.7 km.. And then 2 months later we get Pan Asian DD's. Go figure.

    Japanese Destroyers

You have a gunfocused line (Harugomo) and then the torpedo focused line (Shimakaze). The gun focused line is arguably the most consistent line of the 2, and from tier 8 and upwards you get a serious amount of Dakka. Decent torps, scary gunpower, fairly sluggish. The torp line still has some gems despite all the nerfs. Fubuki is still from what I can gather a good little boat, and the Kagero and Yugumo are not halfbad either. The problem is the Shimakaze and WG's hate for IJN torpedoes for some reason. You have at first glance the most potent torpedoes in the game, with high damage, often high number of them, good speeds and range. But the detection range of the torpedoes are in general garbage so they are pretty easy to dodge. And when the torpedoes fail you have no meaningful gunpower to rely on and while you are stealthy you can only really cap empty cap points and spot. Meanwhile the other tier 10 DD's have better gun power, useful torpedoes and better utility. Honestly the gunboat line is the one I would recommend, and I don't think that will change until something drastic happens to the Shimakaze I'm afraid.

    Domintaion and Destroyers

I would much rather take 1 suicidal DD than 4 borderhuggers. Atleast the suiciding DD can spot. And Domination>all other gamemodes.

    Upcoming T5 Ranked

Ranked tier 5? Sigh why does everyone ignore tier 6, one of the most balanced tiers and is at the moment arguably least powercreeped. Oh well tier 5 it is then, time to dust of the Gremlin.
  11. Pretty sure I have one extra lying around in a drawer somewhere.

Did/will old unique commanders ever make a come back?

Don't think so. The ones I have in the arsenal is the russian one, the german one and I think it was John Doe or something. No idea if this changes depending which ones you already have unlocked or not.

Did/will old unique commanders ever make a come back?

Pretty sure most of them are avaliable in the Arsenal, and in the current british mission you can get a Jack Dunkirk clone.

    Questioning the damage system

I should have clarified, the big damage increase comes mainly from being able to penetrate 32 mm of armor, and since most ships front decks, bow and stern are 32 mm of armor you are no longer forced to just aim at the superstructure. Or ships like the Republique and Conqueror who are pretty much clad in 32 mm of armor.

    Yūbari, yay or nay?

Yubari is an alright low tier CV troll ship like most people have said. It has alright firepower and while the torp angles are garbage the torps themselves are pretty good. But it is more of a novelty ship that looks pretty and has an interesting design than an effective low tier club machine. If you want a good coal ship get the Okabyrskaxaxaxa or the Salem.

    Questioning the damage system

Don't really have that many issues with the damage model nowadays, apart from the "oh you turned away let me put a citadel through your insanely angled side for some reason"-[edited] but that has been the case for years now. IFHE as a skill is not bothering me that much. Most high tier decks are still virtually immune to IFHE and your superstructure gets depleted fairly quickly so the real impact is not that huge. What I do have a problem with is that IFHE does not really have that much of a penalty to it in terms of fire damage. With DE and flags you loose 1% firechance and get a really big raw damage increase.
  17. Pretty sure this is sarcastic, but this is what happens pretty much every time any new line gets released.

The Marblehead (..for REAL SAILORS only!)

No, not even close. Firepower is good, but compared to the rest of the tier 5 it is not something overly special. And considering how squishy it is I can't really say it is the best either.
  19. Don't know, think it sits on the edge of Cherry Blossom easy but not so hard it becomes frustrating. 5 starred it on my first try but it did not stop 4/7 people from getting bombed and torped. I do think the difficulty heavily depends on what ships you bring. If you have 1-2 Sims built mostly for AA then this operation becomes vastly easier. So I'm fairly sure that if our team had Minsks or possibly Mahans this result probably would not have been possible. So I think it basically boils down to, do you own a Sims? If yes then this operation is vastly easier. If no then you might struggle a bit.

Unsure how to play from browser

You sure your friend does not mean WoWs Blitz or something similar? The only thing I could find about this game in browser form is this site: https://vortex.gg/games/world-of-warships. But I fail to see how a 30 gig game can be played through a browser and remain playable. Considering how most games these days are big data leviathans WoWs does not take up that much space if you have a decent harddrive.

    Advice for a noob

Or alternatively don't start with CV's at all. The CV rework is coming and since we have no idea when it will drop or how it will look in the end starting to play a class that might drastically change is a bit of a waste IMO. Better to focus on the other lines for now.

    US light cruser line

The enitre line from the Dallas and up are built around those "mortar" shells.

    Advice for a noob

Not in the earlier tiers. If you want to get a grasp on the game in general cruisers are more flexible at lower tiers and not as frustrating to play. Thanks to higher speeds and more forgiving gunnery you can focus more on the minimap and general awarness.

Emden like gameplay at higher tiers

Zao, Hindenburg, rudder Mogami build, Chapayev, Charles Martel to name a few can still zip around starting fires and causing damage with good results.
