    Help for Republique

Nothing really, it's just that if you want a secondary build Frenchie the Alsace is better IMO with more secondaries and is a bit more easier to get into secondary positions thanks to beeing less unwieldy. The 100 mm guns are pretty useless for direct damage unless you have IFHE, but with BFT and secondary flag you spit out so many shells that it becomes a massive flamethrower. The Republique is better suited as a gun platform with skills and modules aimed towards that. It is a bit to squishy for my liking to send it into straight up brawls, and if you at any point encounter a IFHE Kurfurst (they are rare, but oh so much fun) it will eat the Republique alive with little to no issues in a secondary brawl.

    My 1st tier 10......

The French BB line is arguably one of the more balanced and well rounded lines from tier 8 and up (the Lyon is just an abomination) which offers different playstyles between each ship. All this culminates in the Republique, a fast and comfortable gun platform with punishing guns, however it is clad in 32 mm armor so it is suprisingly squishy. The Montana is more standard, and again from tier 8 you basically get nothing but keepers. The Montana has one of the heaviest broadsides in the game, with pretty solid armor and AA. Both ships are good, I personally would go for the Republique since it is pretty unique and above all fun to play. But it is not that easy to play, so if you want a more entry level tier 10 the Montana would probably be it.

where is this player base heading to...?

If every other ship on your team is hiding or dying instantly, they can't influence the battle and will get shitty scores regardless. All you have to do to top the scoreboard or tip the game in your favour is to either try to get a cap, spot or farm damage on higher value targets since the rest of your team is most likely not going to "contest" that damage if they hide. Will this work every game? No. Will it work enough times to either get a win or atleast not a total loss? Yes.

where is this player base heading to...?

*Cough* you did not really hit the 1k mark either in the games you show us here Also why are people oblivious to the print screen button? As for the topic at hand, the playerbase has been pretty shitty lately, but in all fairness it has declined for a while now. Still there are still plenty of matches that can be influenced and carried if you play your cards right. If you get to many defeats, play operations or just another game entirely and come back later, that works for me.

    Initial "Alaska" stats...

I like it. Durable, punishing AP, solid HE and nice AA power. Also Radar as the cherry on top. It really fells like a lightweight Iowa (unsuprisingly) that sacrifices alpha and armor for DPM and manuverability.

burning dubloons without knowing that ( ! )

The OP has a long history of making threads where he tries to find issues where there really isn't any in the first place, so even now when the topic is valid it is still hard to take him seriously. It also does not help his case that most forumites are fully aware of the problem and it has been discussed to great lenghts in the past.

    Großer Kurfürst Secondary Build

Pretty much. If you want a sucessful IFHE specced French BB, the Alsace is the ship to go for. The Alsace looses a small amount of range compared to Republique but wins in sheer dakka and easier to move around into secondary range. Still for pure damage IFHE Kurfurst leaves them in the dust.

    Lützow 150mm CL?

The problem with the Hippers hull is that it is really tanky for a tier 8 cruiser, and putting that at tier 7 would make it stupidly survivable unless you tweak some values. The Edinburgh and Belfast deal is that both hulls are just alright in terms of protection. And the Edinburgh gets the super heal to offset the flimsy armor so it works in that sense.

what build should i use on daring

Your guns are your bread and butter, and the torps are more of a secondary armament IMO. However I do really need to play the Jutland in particular more since now is the first time you actually get long range torps, so I might get more use of them than previously. Best combo would probably be BFT+torpedo reload module so you ge tthe best of both worlds like Panocek says.

    Help please

Combine this with trying out some other games, that's what I do currently. Lately Gothic Armada 2 has been eating a lot of my time (I was still going to be playing this more over WoWs anyway, the CV mess just made it easier) and I have just been jumping into WoWs for the occasional daily win for ships I'm grinding or Ranked. And to try out if the fixes.

    Spam CA

Fair enough. However I still stand by the fact that 1 game no matter how spectacular it may be is not always a good indication of what is to come. And the Minotaur fits that bill quite nicely. The Minotaur is just the embodiment of high risk high reward since it is so god damn squishy, and when caught out it vaporises under any sort of accurate AP fire. And since they fire AP, great though it may be, as soon as you angle you can easily negate most of the damage output while dealing sufficent damage back.

    Spam CA

    - How many radars did the enemy have? - Did they blindfire into smoke? - Did they push your smoke? - Where there many bottom tier ships? - Did you spam from long range or actually get close? So many variables, and as always a single screenshot is mostly pointless, even if it was your first game. And dreadnought in a CL is nothing special really, especially since you can get it from the Emerald onwards unless you misplay.

IJN Cruisers - Captain Skills Discussion

Going to jump on the bandwagon and also say, pick any other skill than survivability expert. The added HP might seem nice on paper, but every other viable 3 pointer surpasses it in utility. - Vigilance helps both you and your team to dodge torpedoes easier. - Super intendent provides extra consumables and if you can dodge or disengage longer staying power thanks to an extra heal. - Torpedo armament and the 12 km torps can give you better zoning and higher damage potential. Survivability expert enables you to survive 1 extra BB pen or a couple if extra HE pens from a 203 mm armed cruiser. This might make a difference some games, but the other skills can make a difference or be used in every game.

    Pan-asia irian cruiser capitan skills

What why? 32 mm of HE pen allows you to pen almost every bow in the game with a few exceptions, also most decks on high tier BB's and every cruiser (again, with 2 exceptions). The 10% firechance is not bad considering you trade RNG fires for raw damage output. Stick to the build rnat gave you, play it in coop and learn what ships you can damage reliably and what ships you need to aim for different parts or hope for fires. Then you should be fine.
  15. So far I am very reluctanct to change any build since, as we already know, we have no idea how many fixes or patches we might go through before things stabilise. Changing my crews now only to have them completely outdated a week from now is just meh. So for BB's standard stealth/tank builds with the occasional AA upgrade or crew skill depending on what BB it is is what I'm running now.

Is there a way to mute the azur lane commanders?

Here you should be able to turn it off. Since I don't play ARP ships I don't know what combo you need for it to work, but standard settings and voiceover language of your choice should get rid of it.

    Richelieu - Tier VIII

This is just stupidity and will just end up denying yourself damage and effectiveness. Even on distant 20 km targets AP can and will cause more damage than HE assuming you hit (and even if you hit with HE at that range you can still shatter on belt armor and fires still rely on RNG).

    Port UI becoming unresponsive

I have really made it a habit of failing to read properly lately With this is mind, no I don't think I have experienced this issue to the extent of having to close the game via task manager. I have had this problem a few times that I can't click on anything or open certain tabs, but I think it is linked to the fact that I'm running the game in borderless windowed mode and sometimes the game can be iffy about that when I tab in and out of it.

    Port UI becoming unresponsive

What do you mean with "becoming" unresponsive? For me the port UI has been unresponsive, laggy and just generally crap for something like 2 patches now. Especially mounting and dismounting flags and opening containers seems to cause the UI to panic.

    1701's Verdict On 0.8.0

So removing the RTS style gameplay that can't work on consoles, to a system that does work on consoles arund the same time WG announces WoWs on console does seem like too much of a coincidence to me. On topic, I will not stop playing, far from it. But it sure is convenient that Battlefleet Gothic 2 got released recently until I wait for that hotfix.

    The Furutaka helped me study!

Huh? She is by far the tankiest cruiser at tier 5, and with the accuracy buff the Furutaka is now arguably the strongest tier 5 cruiser full stop.

    campains captains, and ....weaknesss

Why? They are more powerful in a way than normal captains so paying normal price for retraining is already a great advantage.
  23. ollonborre

    campains captains, and ....weaknesss

I put him onto the Mogami of all things actually, since the Mogami can take full benefit from the special skills, and because at the time I already had high level captains on my other IJN ships so basically a free CE-IFHE captain for the Mogami was almost a given. I would argue he works on both the Yamato and Zao, but if I would retrain I would go for the Zao. The Zao is more prone to criticals and since you need to dodge and change position often the turret traverse is gold compared to the "park my big behind here" static gameplay of the Yamato.

Why Belfast is needed in game

Or, you know, the wall of radars you hit when you get to tier 8 is training enough. No need to pester the other players on tier 7 with glorious Payfast.

Don’t buy PEF - she sucks hard

I still stand by what I have said previously, the guns feel pretty accurate, the angles are good and it is suprisingly tanky both vs HE and if angled you can soak a lot of AP. However I suspect this might be because I have now played almost nothing but the PEF for the last couple of days but I'm starting to get bored with the ship. My biggest gripe is simply that while hitting stuff is no problem, dealing reliable damage is (shocker, the worst pen on a tier 6 BB struggles to pen stuff). It has secondaries en masse, but for some reason WG does not want secondary builds below tier 7 so you can't count on them. Shame since if manual secondaries for example had the accuracy buff you could make it work more reliably. I will keep it, I will dust it off for operations and I still like the looks of it. But after this steel grind is over I doubt I will ever take it out into a random battle again.
