Good CV players are the most valuable players now?
ollonborre replied to Puffin_'s topic in General Discussion
What like the Kebab? All the others have 19-21 mm (pretty sure there is some DD parts with 21 mm, could be wrong. Or maybe that was CV's) so rockets from tier 6 CV's and up shred them all equally hard. The difference beeing that you get more rockets and higher damage the higher you go. -
And yet I have the highest hitratio in the Richelieu out of all my tier 8 BB's. Like I said for me the Riche just works and I found the guns very reliable and comfortable to use. I'm aware of all its faults and gimmicks and yet it is just a solid BB that I perform really well in.
-
The Riche has by far the most reliable gun performance in my experience, best AA among the 3 and yeah while the speed boost is a gimmick it is a gimmick than can help you get out of a bow on situation quickly and disengage. For randoms I find it to be great, but for ranked and the like NC and Amagi are still superiour.

Increased sector damage and decresed sector reinforcment time. So manual AA with BFT are the most effective AA skills currently. AFT is only good on secondary specced ships or gunboats as it is just a nice bonus and not a dedicated AA skill.

Do cyclones and strormfronts ruin the gaming experience?
ollonborre replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
Might want to look at your own topics. I find the passing storm to be more fun than cyclone. I normally don't mind a cyclone except for the duration which can on occasion just be too damn long. -
Only real change I would do is to switch out AA mods 2 for torpedo reload. Yeah CV's are annoying in a DD but I personally don't think that extra AA DPS is worth the reduced torp reload.

Using IFHE on Des Moines and Hindenburg?
ollonborre replied to VeidraVontae's topic in General Discussion
No. More elobarate answer, Des Moin has the same HE pen as the Wooster with IFHE. And Hindenburg and Roon can already pen 50 mm plates regardless. -
You can often gain a larger gross profit with those camos, but the net profit can be higher with perma camo thanks to that -50% repair cost. On topic regarding the Alaska, really tanky, solid AP, good AA and radar gives you lots of options for both damage farming and teamplay. It makes a solid buck and is pretty comfortable and forgiving due to its armor and cruiser-BB hybrid style of gameplay.
-
The base XP required wins on the higher thresholds to complete, while damage as already said in the thread makes it more accessible and easier for everyone. Damage farming does offcourse lead to the issue of not playing for the win, but honestly not many people do anyways. If you do the damage required in the stages chances are you still have made some form of contribution towards winning, so overall I like the change.
-
The Khaba can still receive full AP pens from BB's regardless of that armor strip which is what truly chunks you most of the time. So reducing that armor will make a miniscule difference.
-
Animation is a bit annoying sure but it hardly takes long if you open 3 a day. And free stuff is free stuff, I always need more.
-
Being able to pen certain cruisers 2 tiers higher and some extra parts on same tier BB'S is not worth the 4 points. 1% less firechance is nothing mayor with flags, but for the slight potential damage increase 4 points is a pretty huge deal. You simply can't rack up meaningful damage quick enough with your limited firepower. You are better of with the holy gunboat trinity of BFT+DE+AFT for starters, and then you are free to experiment. SI for extra boost and not having to fear you waste smokes since you get 4 of them is nice, amd depending on your ambition you could just pick AFT and then every nice 3 pointer you might need.

How come you had 471 unopened containers? What is wrong with you?

If it is the same as the previous preview ships you will keep the XP as normal XP. So you can comfortably grind away and be close to a tier 9 when the period ends.
-
Yes they are. You will learn how to not get punished and they have really good guns that can reward good aim (the Fuso is a bit of a shotgun but you got so many guns and faster reload so it works out). And you are never hampered by the slow speed of the USN. Any BB line is pretty good for a beginner to be fair. But the IJN and US are probably better if you want to properly learn general BB gameplay with positioning, gunnery and actually beeing punished. Once you have some games in one of those lines then you can branch out.
-
In a sense they do. You will learn how to position and support your allies closer to the fight, and get map awarness because even though you can't really be citadelled broadside hits can still cause massive damage. What you will find lacking is proper ranged support due to the shotgun dispersion on all of them and how to be punished, as again you don't really have a reachable citadell. Think of them as low risk medium reward in general.
-
Yes they are a good starting line. Turtleback so you can't get citadelled reliably if you show broadside, great secondaries from tier 7 and up, pretty good AA, Hydro from tier 8 and up so you can avoid torpedoes or rush a destroyer. They are close quarter ships though, so backline sniping is not going to work. They reward more aggressive play and soaking damage for the team. If you want a more support oriented BB the IJN or french are better for that.

Alloance tokens - your method for fast grab ?
ollonborre replied to SEN_SEN_Channel_Portugue's topic in General Discussion
Most efficent is coop and ops, but I'm a masochist so I generally do them in randoms. Tier 10 cruisers and BB's net you enough kills and medals so the points can be obtained fairly quickly. Or just club some seals in the Belfast and T-61, that works too. -
Actually the GK secondaries can't pen 32 mm armor without IFHE, since due to how the HE pen mechanics works the pen must be higher than the threshold you want to penetrate. So to penetrate 32 mm you need 32.5 or higher HE pen. Without IFHE the GK can then penetrate most cruisers and BB superstructures. With IFHE anything that is covered in 32 mm will be ripped apart.

What to take as 4th module on a New Mexico
ollonborre replied to Zigiran's topic in General Discussion
Damage control. You will burn a lot more than having to turn in pretty much every game. -
Hydoacoustic search and surveilance rader don't work
ollonborre replied to Sytrys's topic in General Discussion
Enable radar and hydro ranges on the minimap and last known position and voila, now hydro and radar "work". -
Montana, Republiqué, Wooster and Daring probably.
-
I got that aswell a few days ago, restarting the client solved the issue for me. Either that or perhaps restart your router or wahtever, that also scared away the gremlins from me.
-
Could also be you have ticked one of the boxes that hide certain themed camos.

When will we get useful LMs for all ships?
ollonborre replied to DFens_666's topic in General Discussion
Some of the LM are pretty good or atleast sidegrades, but yeah most of them are not worth the effort. Atleast the rewards per stage are nice enough.
