    RN DDs - any info?

Which is not a problem since you should go hybrid/gunboat build anyways so no need for a new captain. The Campbeltown is kind of meh IMO. It has a nice history and all but the awkward gunpower and single torp launcher really limits your effectiveness. Granted the torps are long range, but at tier 3 that hardly matters as knifefights are very common anyways. I would recommend a Wickes instead.

    Tier 8 ranked....

North Carolina, Amagi, Riche, Vladivostok. NC for AA and bow tanking. Amagi for torp belt and broadside firepower. Riche for decent AA and speed. Vlad cause it is stupid.

What are the best DDs for next tactic

Fun for me in this game is winning and actually grabbing a decent result. If all you want to do is to yolo ships and pump them full of torpedoes then play coop, because in that mode it actually works. The reason you get obliterated is because you try to pull of suicide tactics against people with more than one braincell and thus throw away one of your teams DD's and contributing heavily to the loss. Alternatively stick to tier 2-3, because from what I can gather the gameplay down there is just the same as coop.

Whats a Good Average damage value.

Just going to repeat what everyone else said basically, you are doing fine in the Bis and Alabama. Average damage and consistensy far outweigh one great game and several crappy ones. Getting those high performance games are mostly a matter of time and experience, and waiting for the stars to align where both teams are just bad enough so you have the time to free farm.

Why isn't there tier only select for random battles?

Another helpful advice I would give is to play more tier 5 to get some experience in the game before jumping into tier 6. At tier 5 you can really start to train your captain, earn a decent profit and not get blasted to pieces by tier 8 ships. The Pensacola you have choosen as your first tier 6 is a very good ship, but it requires planning to make it work and good aim and ammo selection. Get a feel for the Pensa in coop for a couple of games, as in when to use AP, having your turrets preaimed and when to disengage as it is pretty squishy.
  6. Thing about RPF for me is that I often don't want to give up some of those 3 point skills. SE is basically mandatory, and so is BFT or TAE. And depending on the DD you might want SI or DE (DE to replace BFT). So then comes the 4 pointers. CE is a given on virtually anything that is not Russian, and now you have to choose. Daring Harugumo/Kitakaze benefits greatly from IFHE so that is your points filled. Fletcher/Gearing can put RPF to great use but you have to give up either offensive performance or extra consumables (depending on playstyle this might not be easy). My Z-52 could be respecced into RPF but again I don't really wanna give up SI, SE or BFT, it benefits from all of them. RPF is a great skill, but for me I feel that unless a ship can spare the points for it (which is why I only really have it on the Mino and Wooster) I don't spec into it as I can get more out of a ship focusing on either offense or other utility in random battles. In CB or Ranked info is king so there I often respecc offcourse.

    Tier VI carriers - best?

Ruyjo. Best torps, AP bombs that can chunk BB's very nicely, workable rocket planes and the carrier itself is stealthy, reasonably fast and packs alright AA.

    ARGH at all those torpedos

This is both true and false. The amount of torps on some lines stays pretty much the same from tier 6 and up, what changes is how hard they hit and/or the reload. So in a sense you see more fish as on some DD's (KM and US) you can get low cooldown but low damage on the former and high damage and low-ish cooldown on the latter. However the tools to detect, knock out, counter and avoid all together both DD's and torps also rises exponentially the higher up you go with more and powerful Hydro, radars, speed, CV's, Dakka and sheer tankiness on certain vessels.

Slot 4 Upgrade for Aircraft Carriers

Personal preference really. I went with bomber survivability on the Lexington but torp bombers on the Shokaku and Haku, because with AP bombers you can slingshot and reduce AA vulnerability that way. Maybe some CV gods can give you a better picture but this has been my reasoning on the matter.

    AA skills on AA cruiser

BFT. DPS is what brings planes down nowadays reliably as flak can be dodged and I have not really been getting much use out of the massive AA skill.

Tier 4 CV sealclubbing has to STOP!

It is. In a vacuum the Yubari has the best AA at tier 4 and especially when you factor in defensive AA. That however does not say much as the general AA level at tier 4 is basically non existent, but I did manage to kill 2-3 times the number of planes as any other ship on my team in the games I played today so.

Smolensk - Why I prefer rangebuild

I run my Smolensk with the Kebab 4x3 build+AFT(basically my Kebab had little use so that is why I did not bother to respec out of SE), and reload mod. I do find the ship to be pretty toxic and yet in the Mino for example which I find to be its closest competetior I manage a better win rate. Go figure.

    USS Arizona...

Even with the mediocre accuracy thanks to the number of shells she still feel very accurate and consistent. One of my favourites at tier 6.

Why do you like to play CVs?

Meh I mean I tried the old RTS CV's and found them glitchy and generally boring. Tried the rework CV's and found them more fun, and if nothing else it is another class of ships to both master and learn to counter so I guess that is why I play them.

Superintendent - Is it worth it?

Considering that I tend to run out of consumables even with SI I tend to use it on almost every ship that can find benefit from it (heals and smokes mostly). So unless the ship needs/I want some very specific skills SI is pretty much a given on my higher tier ships. EDIT: Survivability expert is also mostly a waste on anything that is not a DD. The extra 3500 HP is at tier 10 is great for a DD, not so great for a cruiser (even the lower HP ones) as the effective HP is often lower than a heal with dreadnought flag. Pretty much every other 3 point skill is more worth it than SE in that case.

How to french DD? - Builds and Playstyle

The main reason is a low stealthfire window on the torpedoes, and that torpedoes in general are an unreliable damage source since they often rely on the mistakes of your intented target. Guns on the other hand offer consistency, since you have a larger control on your gunnery and there is a larger room for error and misses.

WG please show the RN Cruisers some Love

The Neptune for me was the big stumbling block in the line (I don't count the Emerald, it used to suck but after the buff I don't know). The combination of a raised citadel, bigger size and worse detection came as a bit of a shock compared to the Edinburgh which I did like, so the adjustment period took a while. And since I spent most of my first games getting blapped I played it less and less so when I did dust it off I had almost forgot how to play it and back to blapping we went. In the end though I decided to power through it during a 200% weekend, and while I still don't really like it I accept that it is atleast not a weak ship, just awkward to make work as it breaks the progression in terms of stealth mostly. Minotaur is 100% worth it though and just fun as all hell.

    Current state of play

Well I mean when you can have games like this and still not end up last tells you something: But really things have gone more south since the Steam release in general, but that is a price to pay for more players picking up the game and the veterans rotating out I guess.
  19. If the ship is fun to play or I'm trying to learn it I can stick with it for some time. If the tier 10 turns out to not be that fun to play I either jump down to a previous ship that was fun or get something else that is interesting. Repeat until I only have a certain amount of ships that I play on a regular basis.

    Premium Ship Review: Shinonome

Way to go reviving a 4 year old thread with a quote from another thread. That is some [edited]backwards necroing.

Bad economy , bad calculations ? You be the judge.

The flat service cost was a good change, because it became cheaper to run your ships encouraging agressive play and it punished those who hanged back or tried to save themselves as they payed that flat fee. Back in the days you payed for damage received, and this could be increased with heals as you lost more overall HP. Having 250k+ repair costs on a tier 10 BB was not uncommon, not gonna say I miss it.

CVs - IJN or USN or RN

It is far from a bad deal. The torps hit hard, really hard for CV torps, and the torp planes are also the fastest in the game meaning you spend less time in AA and on route to target. Due to the size of the flight and plane speed performing 2 drops on a target is not overly difficult, and thanks to the torp damage, speed and range you will do more damage in those 2 runs than the other tier 10 CV's. And in a tier 10 AA bubble that extra HP of the other nations still burns away nicely meaning the while the Haky looses more planes on average it still deals more damage per run.

Are you 100% sure you have not missed it by not mousing over the free XP?

The difference between Ismail & Warshite

Well if you just spam HE in the Warspite obviously you will have a bad time. Played it in an ops game recently and apart from the somewhat squishy hull the guns are still very very nice for tier 6. The Soviet BB's are certainly ridicilous in many aspects but the Grand Old Lady still holds up.
