Submarines in Random Battles
GotterdammerungX replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Who actually wants submarines in the game, I remember when this was asked in Early Access and the statement along the lines of Submarines will never be in the game. The game is going the wrong way as I see it ....- 419 replies

Brawls in 0.10.1: The Next Step
GotterdammerungX replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
I'm going to say on the face of it the Brawls looks a great idea, a one-on-one contest rather than the fleet or squadron battles we normally get but .... now having had a number of Brawls with CVs and only once managed to even get a glimpse of a carrier once I think there is a bit of an imbalance. The object of the Brawl is to surely to make it enjoyable and balanced enough so that either ship could win; there is little enjoyment in steaming as fast as you can to where you know the carrier is likely to be, whilst being bombed, rocketed and torpedoed and never getting a sight of her. It could be that some ships just don't work and that there is a need to adjust the match-making best on you ship. Regretfully the prompt for feedback on the battle never pops up when you actually want it, but hopefully some improvements can be made to make the Brawl an equal fight -
I'm upto Tier IV now and not quite what I was expecting, to compensate for the lack of range on torpedoes I was expecting a fast and manoeuvrable killer for scything through the arctic waves, instead I feel I was sold a Lada Riva which breaks down at the slightest cough.

I couldn't agree more, very disappointed with the German Cruisers I have seen so far in the low tires. If these were supposed to be in service during the Great War then I am not surprised the Kaiser wouldn't let his fleet venture forth after Jutland. The Karlsruhe Class in interesting, according to the Oracle they only carried 150 rounds per gun, with rate of fire, hit rate and damage in the game you'd be out of ammo in the first 5 mins, fortunately that wouldn't be a problem as you would have already been sunk by then. I like the idea of the 5 submerged torpedoes on the broadside, shame none of those were included. The ships do not seem to match the other nations tier for tire, perhaps the right classes of cruisers weren't selected or Germany just didn't have enough choices to go with. I was confused when I looked at the list, Germany only really seems to have had two effective cruisers: the Hipper and Deutschland Classes. I fear though that Deutschland will get re-classified from a 14,000 tonne cruiser to a battleship and will be outclassed

I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on keeping a ship at Elite status rather than selling and moving on. I was sort of expecting that once the ship reached Elite then its overall effectiveness would improve and that Experience gained would automatically be added as Free Experience, or at the very least a greater portion assigned. Other than generating Experience that can be converted at a cost to Free Experience, there doesn't seem to be that much of an incentive.

I couldn't see a thread for this, but on more than one instance I have had my torpedo bombers drop their torpedoes on land or in the opposite direction to the intended target. Probably a question which has already been answered, but fighters are unable to strafe targets, given the number of ships with open or no turreted guns then you could well expect to be able to cause a little disruption to ships. As fighters develop to being armed with cannons and rockets then you would expect their capabilities to expand, is this dynamic expected to be included? A final two-penneth, will there be an options for an all out air-strike, along the lines of Midway?
