  1. basically clan battles or large group of players in the same division, where the entire side is all in the same division or the side is made up of 2 clans in 2 divisions The minimal number of players in these bigger divisions would have to be large enough to create an effective group while not allowing a couple of 3 casual gamers who want to play with each other from joining in. Basically moving away from the casual gamers and randon battle/ranked battle where you have no chance of getting teamwork across the board to a different game mode where that is actually expected of you.
  2. Just because divisions are 3 players now doesnt mean they cant be 12 players in a different game mode, your thinking too blinkered about what happens now instead of what can be done

    Playing ranked battles with a mixture of players of the following type will achieve nothing for you but frustration if you are a team player a) Casual players who don't ever read chat or react to it b) Players who cant speak the same language c) Players who say they are team players but then back down at the risk of getting hit d) None team players e) Players who sit at the back and on't get stuck in The answer to this is a separate game mode for players who want more out of the game than just ranking up and casual play The only way this can sensibly be achieved is via Divisions, so think of the ranked battles but everyone in the game is in a division or 2 divisions and they are all communicating together following an organised and structured plan with someone taking overall commanding for the fleet.   5. I don't play Sunday mornings and I don't see the relevance to that here. This thread is also NOT about lack of team play in ranked and random battles so please lets not make it into that. This isn't about trying to improve the teamwork on random or Ranked battles. Casual players simply aren't interested in that and trying to mix players who want teamwork and players who don't care or don't want to work for it isn't going to achieve anything but animosity for either type of player. That's pretty obvious if you put any effort in trying to get everyone to play in a planned organised way This thread is an attempt to get something done for those players who want teamwork, who are willing to listen to a commander and work together even if that means sacrificing their ship in order to achieve victory What i really need here, is feedback on the list of questions I have raised, after all that's what the initial post has asked for .....................
  6. I see plenty of whining on the forums about lack of teamplay and the problems caused by it for those that want it. Yet, this thread has had one reply, thanks for that Blue_Bug. I Cant do it without everyone's help, looks like another failed attempt and wasted effort. Either help me out here, grab your mates get them involved with this thread or watch the chance of someone trying his damdest to achieve something good for you run out of steam. All I ask is you read the first post, answer the questions and get others involved.

Together we may be able to get something done here.

In Another thread I started, we discussed the issue of a lack of teamplay in every game mode that exists so far including ranked battles The main issue within the game is the number of casual players who simply aren't interested in it and the scoring system which deters team play This is absolutely fine if you are that type of player however there are a lot of players who want more from the game and are mature enough to realise the benefits of good structured, organised team play. They need a different environment away from the casual gamers to be able to play in this way. So, it was mentioned that WoW is screaming out for a Division/Clan mode and according to the feedback i get in game and the forum thread it would appear its most defintely wanted It is in this thread that I would like to discuss and develop that idea until we have a solid foundation that we can take to the devs and plead with them for it's integration. Here are some of the questions that I can think of, please give me feedback and help me to develop this idea. (This may be a long slog, but if enough folks show interest we may be able to get something done here. To give you some idea of my experience in the game I am currently playing tier 5/6 so am not as experienced as some other players. However my youth ism long past and i am very experienced (13 years +) running a milsim gaming community. So I have a fair grasp on what a "Mission Commander" needs to accomplish organised structured and controlled gameplay I have tried all game modes and have tried very hard to get team work in every match i have played apart from playing as a destroyer, you simply dont have the time then to type in chat. So here are some idea and questions. (I'm not quite sure how the poll system works in these forums, eg Can i create one, then after getting some feedback, create another one ? DIVISION GAME MODE (Feedback or input from the Dev team would also be appreciated) AIM To filter out players who are not willing to coordinate and play as a team To have a scoring system that encourages team work Some questions to get us started How many slots should each side have. What percentage of those slots should be allowed per division How should game balancing be achieved if there is a mismatch with division sizes for either side How should ship balance be done What range of tiers should be allowed How should the reward/score be split/shared What Ingame tools need to be added to improve a commander players ability to control or administer the fleet What polls do we need to get feedback What else, that I havent though of ? To make this easier for you to give feedback, copy n paste the following section into your thread and then it makes it easier to answer the queries or give your Slots per side: Max division Size: Blancing Mismatched Divisions: Ship Balance: Tier range: Scoring: Ingame tools: Polls needed: What else? Here are my thoughts at the moment on the questions I have raised, which are likely to change as this thread develops Slots per side: Not sure, either 2 different sizes, same as ranked and random or somewhere inbetween like 12 per side Max division Size: 100%, will get the best teamplay but logistically should also allow more than one division with a minimum division size of 4 players Mismatched Division Sizes: Not sure, Maybe: 1 x 12 versus 2 x 6 or 1 x 12 2 x 6 versus 3 x 4 All of these mismatch division sizes could lead to some decent varying tactical play Ship Balance: Don't have any thoughts on this yet (Allowing any mixture could create some very interesting gameplay Tier range:Max range of 3 tiers maybe or if that is too much, 2 tiers (Not sure not as experienced as some who are on tier 10, they may know best) Scoring: Team score shared evenly between every player (providing the individuals contribution has achieved a minimal personal score In other words, if the players has stayed at the back and not got stuck in enough, he doesn't take a share of the team score The team score should give you the highest points in the game and the personal score not the main aim of the battle Ingame tools: ​For the "Commander" ability to administer the fleet, for example Ability to define targets per fleet/sub group as is already the case via the F3 key but a more developed version Ability to split the fleet into sub groups (visualised by coloured ship tags on screen) Ability to set waypoints for the entire fleet , sub groups or individual ships Ability to define a sub group commander who can then do all of the above but for his group members only Some way for players in different divisions to interact before they get into battle so they can all join the same comms server (Teamspeak etc) Something like the "Wanting to join a Division meny but with the ability to copy n paste links for teamspeak servers etc Maybe even the devs offering their own temaspeak servers where all Division Mode players can meet up centrally and create these larger all in one divisions Polls needed: No idea yet What else? Nothing yet So please take this seriously and help me try and get something better for those who want it
  12. This is exactly what we are hoping to push for. lets call it Division play as that is the term used by WOW to group a set of team mates together. In order to achieve this, I posted some questions earlier in the thread to try and get some idea as to what that would require and how best to set it up. This then leaves the solo/casual players to do their thing and stop them causing so much frustration for those who want a better standard of gameplay.
  13. Well there seems to be some support for this which is nice to see. Earlier in the thread there was mention of a "Division Only" game mode. This may be the way to go, so what I would like to do here, is develop the idea and then when it's complete enough, create a new thread., detailing the developed idea with the sole aim of bringing the game mode to life, ofcourse with as much help as I can. So........... here's a few questions Division Game mode How many slots should each side have. How many of those slots should be allowed for 1 Division (My vote All) How should game balancing be achieved if there is a mismatch with division sizes for either side How should ship balance be done (To me with my limited experience that seems to be fine and even when you have a mismatch, to me that allows for greater experimenting with tactics) How should the reward/score be split/shared (My vote: Even share across all players on the same side. This makes it simple and allows a player to sacrifice himself with no loss for him personally) How can you integrate differing tiers into the same battle What Ingame tools need to be added to improve a commander players ability to control or administer the fleet What else, that i havent though of ?
  14. Every battle without fail, i attempt to get some teamwork going with differing results, so its a bit unfair to state such a thing and my original post pointed that out also. The most effective thing I have tried is a copy n paste of the following. That seems to have a better success rate than anything else I've tried. And I'm no teenager on some power trip here, My testosterone levels are at rock bottom these days. I really enjoy multiplayer teamwork, which to me is more important than score or winning. its frustrating to play with morons who have no concept of such a thing and the small size of divisions doesnt allow enough of you into a battle to get that sort of teamplay via teamspealk 3 players on teamspeak is nice, but not enough to have a decent impact on the battle
  15. I hadn't thought about an additional game mode, but yes totally agree with both of you that there should be a "Division Battles" option. If that existed, that's the only mode i would play. Teamspeak then naturally falls into place as the obvious comms system to use and it wouldn't be a difficult task to get your division onto the same TS server. This would be nigh on impossible in a random battle or a ranked battle due to the short time you have to even attempt organisation before they all run off in their own directions. Has Division Battle been commented on before in these forums? If not I might start a thread up entitled just that and see if we can get enough support to push for that. I'm only tier 4-5 so the game is relatively new to me at the moment and I haven't got the experience that you guys have on how higher tier battling is done. I do get very very frustrated though with the quality of teamwork as it exists at the moment
