    Prince of Wales

Widar_Thule, on 21 July 2016 - 12:00 AM, said: - Tiger class of two ships, only one completed Tiger was the only ship of the class planned. The O klasse is probably only a tier VII. Its essentially a Scharnhorst that trades its armour for extra speed. Advances in propulsion meant that protection didn't have to be sacrificed to such a large degree to achieve the same speeds. So at high tiers the speed advantage is lower, but the gap in protection is also smaller.

Widar_Thule, on 20 July 2016 - 11:58 AM, said: That means that if we see a KGV class battleship in the British battleship "line" it will most likely NOT have 35 cm guns. This WOWS British battleship "line" is more likely: Tier 6 - Queen Elizabeth with historical 38 cm guns Tier 7 - KGV with fantasy 38 cm guns setup (3x3 = 9 guns, this was considered at one time for the KGV class according to some sources) Tier 8 - Vanguard with historical 38 cm guns Tier 9 - Lion with historical 40 cm guns Tier 10 - Some paper ship with fantasy 40+ cm guns The "exception" to the "line" rule would be the followig Premium ships: Premium Tier 6 - Warspite with historical 38 cm guns Premium Tier 6 - Hood with historical 38 cm guns Premium Tier 6 - Nelson with historical 40 cm guns Premium Tier 7 - Prince of Wales with historical 35 cm guns Um, no. 1) Hood is just as well protected as the QEs, but ~7 knots faster. Putting them at the same tier makes the latter obsolete. 2) Nelson is the equivalent of Nagato and Colorado, so should be at the same tier as them. Putting them the tier below is illogical. 3) KGV with the 15"/45 Mk II is better armed, better protected and ~1-2 kts slower than Tirpitz, all whilst being a much smaller target. So why would it be the tier below? 4) The tier X doesn't need to enter the realm on fantasy, merely the realm of the considered. Yorck isn't fantasy. Karlsruhe is exactly the same as Konigsberg Blucher and Eugen aren't different enough to warrant a two tier jump.

What we know about Ships: Updated 05/04/2017

Derp, thought you meant the battleship. As for Orion itself, its still only a maybe, I'd expect Hobart or one of the other Amphions to be a premium.

Orion is unlikely, with a ship of the KGV (1911) class being more likely for that class and tier. Belfast is much more likely, as it still exists, and has an interesting history to her.

PROPOSAL: Full German Destroyer Line (DD)

For German DDs? Type 36 A, or one of the Mobs depending on what the preferred AA fit would be.

    RN premium ships

How about K-25? 7 (twin) turrets.

PROPOSAL: Full German Destroyer Line (DD)

    Tier 7 sounds about right.

    RN premium ships

    Even more light cruisers.

    RN premium ships

True, but Dunkerque isn't a strong enough hull for tier VII. Strasbourg however KGV should be a tier VIII. Speed should be 29kts. Armour is better than anything in game so far at that tier. Firepower is worse, but not terrible. Nelson looks good on paper but is less good when you delve deeper in to it.

    Let's talk about Soviet battleships.

Smaller in this case isn't worse, its better. And the speed margin is 1-2kts. As for upgrade options, there are certainly fewer historical upgrades, but a good number of the ships already in the game have ahistorical refits, so thats hardly covering new ground.

    Let's talk about Soviet battleships.

No, the Rs are tier 6s.

    Let's talk about Soviet battleships.

Yes, but there is a lot fewer issues making an Italian ship tree than there is a tank tree.
  14. There is something strangely satisfying about being able to correct you . The standard AA suite in the unrebuilt WWI ships by the outbreak of war was 8 4" & 2 octuple pom-poms. PoW also had 7 Oerlikons working after the power failed. Due to the outbreak of war, the rebuild of Repulse was planned to be much more limited in scope, replacing the 6 x 1 QF 4"/45 Mk V & 3 x 3 BL 4"/45 Mk IX with 7 x 2 QF 4"/45 Mk XVI as was done in Hood. Plus 7 more Oerlikons.

Some interesting info around the world

But it is on RU, presumably, which is why they are saying its on par.
  16. Except that same refit also changes her belt armour as well. So yes, the refit is still relevant.
  17. The extra armour of the Ugly Sisters is a key factor.
  18. I'd expect something along the lines of the Rs for Orion (and Lion)

    Royal Navy Tech tree Proposal

Too much choice, they can't cope with the sheer number of designs about.

    Blyskawica Tier 8 Version

Atago uses the Model E, Mogami 203 uses Modified Model E2 That I would guess is for balance reasons. Konigsberg uses the Drh Tr C/25, Nürnberg uses the Drh Tr C/28 The 100cm/65 has the same style mount on Ibuki, Taihou and Hakuryuu, and a different one on Zao, which is where the differences lie.

    Blyskawica Tier 8 Version

Furutaka C uses the Model E2. Aoba uses the Modified Model C

    Blyskawica Tier 8 Version

Except a common mount was used, and its already in game using 20rpm. The only thing that will be different between mounts are the traverse & elevation speeds.
