I think there is enough room to play with to make them both work. I mean if you use the heavier of the proposed shells for the 18" Mk II, broadside is 18lb heavier. (1lb per round, that being 18 over a minute) Also, there is the 2,250lb shell for the 16" Mk I, or even the 16.5" Mk I if you feel it is necessary. Top that off with some DP secondary & light AA refits and some reasonable soft stats and both should be fine at tier 9.

Agreed, N3 and G3 won't do at tier 10. Especially when things like K3, L3 & I3 exist. However, I can see them being tier 9s, especially if some of the refits supposed for Nelson are applied to them (primarily secondary battery, AA & FCS)
