Essentially if you do enough damage to a friendly, they stop taking damage and you do instead. edit: There was a glitch ages ago where the Udaloy could literally torpedo itself as I recall, but I am pretty sure it's been long since fixed.

Should be noted that this is also considerably countered by several people having free xp'd the Albemarle without having taken the time to learn the..peculiarities of the line (relatively) safely down at the lower tiers

And that even with the number of players that free xp'd her rather than take the time to get used to the line at the lower tiers..

Thats no small praise, as the Devon is actually one of, if not the best tier 6 CA in the game currently.

Not really, just drive your ships aggressively, fire HE in your cruisers (and any high fire chance bb's), and aim your torps well. Should be all you need to do tbh.

Best of luck mate. By my own calculations I can get ABC if I get all four directives, and all 22 remaining daily (2 per day for the (supposedly) remaining 11 days) missions without needing to spend doubloons. Not that bothered if I have to spend a couple of thousand though.
