Well this just became interesting..Apparently Ochakov can mount both dfaa and hydro without having to choose between the two. Not sure it's enough for me to swing her way but it made it a lot closer..As a side note Bagration just gets a heal and a choice between dfaa or hydro.

14,0 is the correct one, just confirmed it in the dev blog. And yes, that should be entirely workable. Think she may have been a bit too strong with that 12,6km camo she originally had.

For what it's worth, I happen to agree. And with the rest of your points above, just only quoting this part for brevity. And all of that is essentially why I'd much rather buy what is essentially a Kutozov (sans smoke) with 180mm guns, than a Smolensk without smoke and heal with 152mm guns. In game she has a quoted concealment of 14,0. And a 40mm waterline belt at the bow/Icebreaker, just checked for myself.

And two tiers lower let's not forget. Which would most likely be why she doesn't have smoke or heal. (well, that and Smolensk being a bit too strong with all of the above )

Every tier 8 cruiser struggles to one extent or another in a tier 10 game and this is a fact. Haven't really looked at the armor models (have the ships in port mod so I can view both of them) to see for myself, but I suspect that Bagration is the more heavily armored of the two as well. And before anyone says anything, yes I am aware that is very much a double edged sword in this game.

Exactly. On balance of the two the Bagration is definetly the one to go for in my book.

Yea, good luck with that. The playerbase hasn't agreed on anything as a whole in this game's history. Not even changes anyone in their right mind (stealth fire nerf for example) would have to agree were for the better.

The extra shell weight you get in the Baltimore, Buffalo, Des Moines, and Salem (but not in Indianapolis or Wichita) means that your shells keep their full penetration out to longer ranges.

Fair enough. And also, I am pretty *edited* sure that the ship Flamuu meant was the strong one is the Bagration, and the one he meant was the "not so" was Ochakov. If it's the other way around then..no comment.

I have, but if you look at the Wiki you might have noticed that there's a substancial difference in AP shell weight between the Indianapolis/Wichita and the Bmore. 34 kg of difference in fact, which is over a quarter.

Does not however get the superheavy shells, you don't get those till the Baltimore (Wichita doesn't get them either btw)

Really not a fan of the calm sea mod. Anyone who's been to sea or even SEEN the sea should instantly know why, you just don't SEE water that calm on the ocean.
