So far I agree, although I haven't decided yet if I'll be keeping her like I did Zara. Mind, me keeping Zara had as much to do with me loving the class in RL as anything to do with her performance in game.

In her current state I have to give the nod to Ohio. Between that 23 knot speed, and 40 second main battery reload, I seriously question Vermont's flexibility. In her current state she's very much a one trick pony. Sure that's some trick, but you had better be very carefull with your shots if you're going to go for her.

Amalfi can perform with SAP, also her AP is nothing to sneeze at either.

This is considerably balanced out by the fact that she will not need her own specific skipper, and fits the IJN premium cruisers better than a IFHE skipper ever would however. EDIT: Also, presumably, good practice for Ibuki if you want to go that far..

Tbh Mogami is pretty good with the 203's too, and that way she doesn't need to sacrifice half her fire %

There's also the fact that damage to cruisers counts for more than damage to BB's, xp and credits wise..

To be entirely fair to NC she is one of the oldest BB's in the game, so she has a very large sample size..

Let's not forget, a 44 knot (without speed boost even) DD is a far harder target to hit than a 21 knot bb..
