    PT 0.9.4 - Submarines

Because "different", "challenging" and "adapt" does not exist in the dictionary of the majority of players in this game.

This CB season's gotta be the worst one ever

No....Both doing are not doing the same, we are running different ships and strategy... And no certain cruisers and players make AP dive bombing a lot harder. Haku is good at AP bombing isolated targets that are camping islands, you can't just dive 3 camping ships and kill everyone. Do that, get 2 squadron wipes and then you are de-planed for the rest of the game. Clans still didn't adapt and many camp their Moskava/ Stalingards with no AA bubble near islands, that's why Haku seems so OP. Good clans will adapt and change strategy, bad clans will keep getting rekt and whine on how broken AP bombers are and will stay in gale forever.

I had 6-1 stalingrad teams trying that. You can't push as 6 ships because you lose map control, they pushed 4-2 or 3-3, in that case its easy to harass them with Torpedo bombers and DBs while allied ship also fire at them. In the case of 4-2, I focus on the 2 ships first, I open with TBs to force one of them to start dodging and separate them, then follow up with DBs, generally TBs make quick work of pushing staligrads/moskavas, since they turn like bricks, you just need a good lead due to the high top speed. I managed to get a lot of value that way and didn't lose that many planes. Some people also seems to run AA- speced stalins as well.

This CB season's gotta be the worst one ever

That is very true, I also played CBs yesterday and had easy time against Moskva/Stalingrad island camping. However my Clans suffered the same issues when we tried to camp our Moskvas around islands. Its good that Haku counter the russian bias spam, clans will have to adapt and play with different ships and strategy to avoid Haku AP bombing fiesta.

Well, everything that isn't a DM, Moskva or Stalingrad seems underrated with the current cruiser meta....

Probably because WG tries to diversify the line and make them stand out from the rest.

    Question to Midway owners

Btw, You are wrong. Just got midway, HVAR has different reticle than Lexington, its a full circle instead of an ellipse.

  13. Hello, I'm interested in joining your clan. I went through the instruction on discord up to tagging "v" in "read-me". I didn't notice any further instructions.

Lexi HVAR deals more damage than Shokaku rockets when attacking broadside 90 degrees ships, other than that Shokaku rockets are better overall, there is no discussion here. My main point is comparison between TiTs and HVAR, if I went out slightly of topic earlier than my apologizes. I actually DO have most of the time the luxury to dictate the approach, and most of the time I send DDs back to port very quickly. "It all depends on how much the DD potato's" I can use that argument for everything, including TiTs and even sniping DDs with bombs........ Potatoes will die quickly, good players will survive slightly longer.

First vast majority of players turn when they see planes, so go ask them, I don't need 90 degrees to deal 6k+ damage, anything from 45-90 degrees results in high damage for HVAR, easy 6k+. Secondly, you approach them at angles that forces them into decisions between either eating broadside volley, ramming into a nearby island, exposing themselves to friendly ships/compromising their position or abandoning cap. Bottom line is, HVAR is far less sensitive to DD positioning than TiTs, but requires good approach angles, you don't fly bow-in towards a DD/Cruiser and say to yourself: "Ah, he will probably turn around". Also, same argument goes for cruisers, where a slight turn from bow/stern will screw up TiTs aim while HVAR can still do massive damage to it, fishing broadside on cruisers is also far, far easier. hitting 10-12k non-saturated and 7-9k saturated on typical 60-90 degrees cruisers is very common. Why are you bringing in Shokaku into this conversation, its a completely different CV and this topic is about Lexi.

Hitting 9k with Tiny tims on a DD means hitting 5 out of 6 rockets at least on non-saturated target. you might as well fill a lottery ticket. The DD player needs to be brain-dead sailing in straight line and is probably a Khabra with a thicc hull and STILL the dispersion of TiTs is comical, at lest 2 rockets will always hit the outter edge of the reticle. The moment he turns, like 95% of any DD players that gets chased by planes, will reduce TiT's hit chance to 0-3 rockets at best. TiTs suffer greatly if the DD is anything but bow/stern in to your planes. Sorry, I don't see how you can reliably hit 9k damage on TiTs on DDs. I do agree that HVAR takes a lot more experience and practice to use well, so OP might as well stick to TiTs and farm BBs.

I edited my post. Also, as someone who played Shokaku the most, I find HVAR to do far more damage against broadside targets than Shokaku. To use HVAR to its full potential you need, obviously, map awareness and understanding how to approach ships.

Those are forums, where every person can voice their opinion on any specific matter. I answered the OP question and voiced my opinion according to my current experience and knowledge in CVs. I chose to answer this post because I spend 80% of my playtime in WoWs since I started playing CV and I think i'm doing fairly well with them and hence felt that i could contribute to this topic. It is now up to OP to decide if he wants to accept my suggestion and opinion or not. Not you. EDIT: TiTs are effective against BBs and that's it, picking them is pigeon-hole-ing the ship into a specific role by gimping DD-hunting capability performance. At tier 8 TiTs sucks big time vs DDs, your lucky to hit 1k-3k damage if at all. there performance against cruiser is nothing special. Deleting DDs in 3 drive-bys wins games and flanks very quickly. Lexington DBs and TBs already provide very good solutions at killing battleships, TiTs are pointless. HVAR are very brutal against DDs if the player knows how to approach targets and fishing broadsides, its very common to slam 6k-10k damage on broadside cruisers/DDs reliability. They are especially deadly against DDs. Even against DDs at angles between 0-45 its possible to hit for 1.5k-4k damage on average, still better than TiTs. They are also superior against cruisers, since the vast majority of cruisers Lexington faces has deck armor of values below 33mm, which means HVAR penetrates the deck just fine. In general, HVAR shatters only on high tier Russian cruiser decks. HVAR deals solid, 5k-7k damage on broadside saturated BBs, which is not as high as TiTs but is very workable when TBs and DBs are not available.

HVAR. If you get de-planned you need to practice more on dodging flak, pre-dropping and choosing the right targets. Lexington is very brutal in the right hands, more so with HVAR and the current influx of DDs due to recent patch.

The same 127mm HVAR rockets are on both Lexington and on Midway's upgraded rocket planes, but their drop reticle is different.
