The forums will always find something to complain about, especially if its a CV-related.

From what it looks like..FDR is more or less a nerfed version of Midway...

Ah, that won't do for a CV player since my karma is almost always at 0

Results: Week-Long Recruit-A-Thon
steveraptor replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
I recruited 2 players to the game over 2 events, both of them i got nothing and my recruits even got their milestone. That what pissing me off, everything with WG screams RNG RNG RNG. You can never get properly rewarded for your efforts, I'm sick of this "chance to win" systems. Because nobody ever uses a Milestone system to reward its players right? You know what? I have a full class of bored students studying with me, and most of the time they spend their time at the PC anyway due to current quarantine. And honestly, I could easily recruit a good amount of them to play the game, but the next recruitment event I won't bother anymore, its just the most demoralizing way you can come up with to stop your players from recruiting others. Current system doesn't encourage recruiting more than 1-2 players because that's enough to to cap the recruitment points cap per week. If I bring 5 or 10 recruits to your game I want to get properly compensated, and not enter a stupid raffle with a 0.00001% to win anything useful. Funny thing is also, is that i sent plenty of invitations in the 1st event already, and so far got 2 recruits playing the game. and yet I didn't even get the free recruitment container on top of it all. So yeah, until you will find a proper way to compensate players who actually put some effort to bring some players into the game, you can count me out. Also I'm pretty sure that some of the players who enter the raffle probably used fake accounts to get at least 1 ticket in, since the system can be easily abused if you have access to at least 2 PC/laptop. On the bright side, at least i get 5x of the most ugliest camo in the game, so thanks for that. -
That's fine, people will get used to it, because nobody cares anymore about tier IX-X premium ships that cost like triple A games anymore. Its a classic "anchoring" ongoing market strategy...WG marketing department knows exactly what they are doing.

I can't believe you forgot "radar is OP plz nerf".

So much this.

I think its because a lot of players don't have T-X and mostly sit in T-9, maybe WG wanted to extend that for them.

Are divisions allowed in ranked sprint?

Minotaur / Captain Skills. (RL)
steveraptor replied to Migantium_Mashum's topic in General Discussion
I got good use out of the extra +1 consumable and JoAT through the entire CL line so far. I got a lot of mileage and value out of both of those in a lot of games. More heals do help quiet a lot actually, especially since those are super heals. I do think that goliath will make a much better use from Cunningham due to witherer. But i still think Cunningham is the best legendary captain atm for RN cruisers compared to Dunkirk (not that we have that many options anyway....) -

Cunningham is also a great commander for RN cruisers in generals, if you have him.0 -

Why would you even use EM on a minotaur...... Possibly the worst skill you can put on it. That's my neptune build, which i will also use for Mino: https://worldofwarships.com/en/content/captains-skills/?skills=12,13,17,23,25,28,34&ship=Cruiser -
Clan Battles: Warrior's Path Season
steveraptor replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Haku serves as good counter to the common stalin/moskva spam, it punishes camping line ups which I think is good, some people just refuse to change their strats, continue camping their ships and then haku has a field day. Basically Haku is a direct counter to the current, camp-fest meta. When I first entered my clan, nobody knew how to deal with enemy CVs or how to build a solid tactic to play against them, biggest reason is that nobody was actually any serious CV player to understand how to counter them to the small detail. With my experience in CV, we changed our strategy, mindset and line ups. Its amazing that some players in the clan, that play 2-3 years with 7k+ battles under their belt got surprised that they actually learn things they never considered before or wasn't even aware off. Our clan has adapted against CVs and we have proper and reliable counterplay, clans that refuse to adapt and change their strategy will continue to whine and won't get far anyway. Goliath is the most comically underrated, and generally misunderstood, ship in CW, probably one of the best picks atm and is a direct counter to Stalins and Moskvas and pretty much any cruiser in a bow-in trade. I think CV is the best thing that happened to the meta to counter that horrendous island camping boring camp fest meta that was until now. Games are a lot more dynamic, Russian-bias ships are not a strong as before and other cruisers and ships suddenly start to see more play now and there are more options and diversity than before. -

The double points seems to be working now, I played today and got 52 per victory. -
Your Last Chance to Obtain Commander Alexander Ovechkin
steveraptor replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Jesus, I have seen Loot boxes in my life, but I have never seen such an insane pricing on them. 110 euros...for a bundle with a commander, a skin and and some generic camo, if this isn't a total rip-off that I don't what is. -
Hawkins is very good at trolling BBs, but other than that the guns are terrible and the ship handles like a brick. The upgrade from Hawkins to Devon feels the same when upgrading from Emerald to Leander.

Can confirm, played with my recruit and I still get the normal 26 points for victory. Also, this raffle and RNG system is nothing but a disappointment and it discourages us to recruit more players for you, having a 0.00001% to win a premium ship is just absurd. Why can't we get a milestone system like in Warframe? its way more effective and rewarding at keeping veterans in the game and new players as well instead of this useless RNG fiesta. -
Recruiting Station: a New Referral Program with Fresh Rewards!

What a nice way to open the day! -
I would like to know if Midway's STOCK, corsair HVAR rocket planes has the exact same reticle as Lexington HVAR rockets. I know that the bear-cat HVAR planes have a different reticle and its no longer a wide elipse, last time i tried it in PTR, instead it converges into a semi-circle shape. Currently PTR is closed so I have no way of checking it myself. Can one of you Midway owners please check this for me?

Replace rockets with multiple types of bombs?
steveraptor replied to affie's topic in Aircraft Carriers
There is nothing rewarding about RNG based stuff. How about that I take your favorite ship, give it 1000 gun dispersion and reward you for accuractly leading shot on an enemy DD, uhm? Rockets are CVs tool to keep DDs in check, it was and it will remain like that. HE bombs are much more RNG based than skill when its coming at hitting DDs with them. T4-6 CV rockets are fairly weak against DDs and don't have the killing power like in later tiers. At tier 8 and 10 its where rockets really hurt but takes skill and precision to hammer down DDs, landing Tiny Tims or fishing a broadside on a DD with HVAR rockets takes a lot more skill than the common CV potato can pull. Rockets have a VERY strong element or prediction/dodging. Also Nozoup is one of the worst WoWs youtubers I ever encountered so far, 80% of hes videos are constant whining and rambling to the point that Its painful to watch for longer than 2 min. Also for someone who whines about CVs every 3 videos, he is also terrible at playing them, just like hes "suggestions". -
Ah yes, 7 Kremlins Even more fun than Stalingrads.
-
That "converging" pattern is nothing but a lie. They always travel parallel. They are easier to hit at tier 4 and 6 than US because the reticle closes faster and is narrower, but this changes from tier 8 and 10.
-
True, but even then, brits got the worst torps out of all CV lines.....

Hello, WG just put Ovechkin containers on shop and by the look of it, all the good rewards from them are RNG based. The containers are not cheap at all and I don't know if its worth spending money on them because I don't know how rare those things are. Ovechkin is the best US CV captain right now and I like the perma ice and fame camo for Lexi, since I play her a lot. There is also a chance to get premium ships. So I'm fine with throwing some money at WG but I'm not fine if the chance to get anything useful is extremely rare, because again, those containers are fairly expensive. How is the RNG in those containers? is the the 0.1% chance to get those drops which requires you buy 40+ containers or is it something reasonable? Did any of you buy those containers? are you pleased with what you got?

submarines SUBMARINES - discussion, feedback, opinions
steveraptor replied to WG_Lumberjack's topic in General Discussion
I didn't enjoy the sub game play at all. Boring and one dimensional. Every game is the same, sail near a point and spam pings and torps without any risk of death, positioning is not important since its comically easy to abuse the minimum depth to become immune to damage. In fact i trolled so many BBs by exposing myself at depth of 5, they shoot at me, i drop to 6.1, shells splash i come back up and torp them, rinse and repeat. Subs are way, way too forgiving to play. Damage immunity is a very problematic and sensitive concept in a PvP game. There is almost next to none interaction between BBs CVs and Subs, if there are no cruises or destroyers nobody can touch those subs. Death charge mechanic is boring, literally 1 click button with 0 skill involved, just run over the sub and click G. On the other hand, you have this sub consumable that makes it nearly immune to DC damage as well. It feels like the sub idea needs a lot more time in the oven.
