Why only 28 silver Spanish tokens per season?

Huron is Commonwealth iirc. There is no Commonwealth DD line, so I don't know how you were expecting to get a challenge reward. Maybe you mistook the flag for Europe, which has 2 DD lines.

You can earn several tokens per ship line you have at t5+, depending on how much base EXP you get. It's easier on higher-tier ships, which earn more base EXP per match. If you say it's not working, show a match where you earned more than the needed amount of base XP and didn't get the reward.

    Trade in,part 2

I was hoping for Aquila and Congress. You know, ships I wouldn't fork over 30-40 euros for, but would sacrifice the ships I put dozens of hours of grind into getting. Even unobtainable t9-t10s. And to be fair, there are some doubloon t8s in there, just not the ones I would have wanted. As for the coal ships, just no. Of course I already have the ones I want.

Trade in, new event? Good or bad?

Potentially interesting, depending on which ships are involved. I'm not getting anything out of my Kron or Thunderer (and plenty of others, but there are presumably going to be some of the primo trade-ins) other than snowflakes, so free ships or heavy discounts on high-tier ships would be a good trade for them. Oh, according to that blog post, half the ships you can get will be coal ships... not good.
  5. - Because you want to play tech-tree ships (might not apply) - For Personal Challenges events (you're rewarded for playing different ship types and nations, and higher-tier ships earn more base XP, making it easier to complete higher challenge tiers) - For "snowflake" events, in which each t5+ ship you play drops coal, steel, SC, econ bonuses or Satan Crates, depending on the event and tier. - A lot of temporary and permanent modes (e.g. Ranked) require t8-10 ships. - Some lines have superships, which are unofficially tier 11 (and also credit sinks, but let's not get into that).

[POLL] How do you like new Asymmetric Battles ?

AB was great. - More challenging and engaging than co-op - Less predictable than Ops - Good XP/cred gains - High win rate win made it good for making effective use of the more valuable econ bonuses I'd definitely get behind replacing the current co-op with it. Of course, subs and CVs should be playable too, as well as more tiers.

So - three days - what's it going to be?

I'm looking at Vallejo actually because I like having the Spotting Aircraft view, especially on the kind of ship that really wants a rock between it and the target. But it seems like a pretty one-dimensional ship to play. Moreso than Lazo even, at least that has torps and hydro.

Super Container Loot Thread [ topics merged ]

First one of the new SCs for me. Lucky, but not exciting since I already have NdJ.
  9. Well they kinda do, the snowflakes. For veterans who grind lines, anyway. I think there's also an annual drop from account creation or first battle or something, though it's mostly cosmetics.

    Premium Battle Pass

With the Pan-Am cruisers, there was a mission chain that let you earn permabonuses for the next ship in the line, so buying the pass meant you could get a t9 permabonus. This time, from what I can tell, the permabonuses are part of the sequential bundle and you can't even earn enough tokens to get the t8 permabonus without spending some other resource on tokens. This deal is getting worse all the time (initially you got a T7 premium!) and I may save my doubloons this time.

Birthday rewards nerfed thanks to SC change

I'm more bummed-out about the game's anniversary snowflakes. Unless they're also going to drop 2x of the new SCs, not just one.
  12. I'm already speaking out against lootboxes and RNG purchases in general, which I think is the most egregious thing in this game. The RNG daily missions are the biggest reason why I'm playing WoWS instead of WT. I don't need that frustration on a daily basis. I see grind as a lesser evil. At least when you buy premium time or a premium ship, you know what you're getting, and WoWS has been good about minimizing and compensating downtime. Not to mention giving it out for free, regularly. I'm just coming off all the prem time I got from the free Santa gifts.

Next Tier X event is when...

Not this Thursday, and not for another month. Also, current Silver League is still t8-9. Only Gold is T10.

    Beginner Tips

You can't get tech-tree ships from supercontainers afaik. You can get premium ships you don't own, and that's one reason never to sell any premiums. Along with the potential snowflakes for t5+.

    Beginner Tips

I don't recommend selling any ships. Later each year, there are at least 2 "snowflake" events that let you earn resources by playing each ship once. For BBs, the USA fast line is one of the more generic ones, so it's a good place to stay. If you want something new, maybe the UK BBs or the Japanese ones. For cruisers, I genuinely think they're the hardest class to play, basically everyone's punching bag unless you're pretty good at the game. If you want something that at least shouldn't explode spectacularly and at random when shot at by BBs (except when showing broadside of course), there are the Dutch and British heavy lines, and the USSR heavy one. For DDs, USSR ones are some of the simplest in playstyle, focusing on guns and speed. The French do too, but they're more exaggerated with typically atrocious concealment.

    Viribus Unitis

I don't think there's a thread on the only BB currently in the Pan-Euro lineup, and the only premium Austro-Hungarian ship in the game, so I thought I'd make one since I recently bought the ship. Long story short, while I don't regret the purchase, I'd advise people to avoid the ship if they want something consistent and competitive. It's too situational. If you get uptiered, everything will eat you alive, from the BBs that outrange and outrun you to cruisers specced to HE-pen t8 BBs (which is relevant to your deck armor) to especially t6 CVs which can knock you out consistently with a few AP bombs, which you are 100% utterly helpless against. If you still want the ship despite that, the quick rundown is: + Good guns for t5. I don't think the shells or dispersion are anything special, but 12 guns with a normal 30s reload is pretty good. + Very nimble for a BB, excellent rudder-shift and turn circle + One of the stealthiest BBs around, goes down to 10.9. This is one of the few things that work better when uptiered + Not-atrocious turret traverse speed. 45s is more than reasonable at t5 + Strong distributed armor scheme, especially at the bow + As with some other BBs at t5, the superstructure is minimal, adding some resistance to HE-spam - Limited turret firing angles - Extremely low HP pool, you absolutely have to leverage your armor, concealment and maneuverability to make up for it when possible (all of which are useless vs. CVs) - Practically no AA - Speed on par with the US (so worst in its tier spread unless you count Langley afaik), and I think those conserve more speed in a turn (correct me if I'm wrong on that) - Low speed + poor gun range are a bad combination, especially when you start to encounter cruisers that can outrange you
  18. They don't need to, superships are the gold ammo. A more powerful version of something you already have access to; you can use it as a free player but it breaks the bank and encourages you to get premium time and/or vehicles to fund it, or even buy the creds directly. At least it's only for top-tier.

New tech line: US or Soviet? (need advice)

Remember each captain can have a build for each ship type, so you can buy e.g. Neustrashimy and have an optimal build for that and an optimal build for Nevski too. In that sense, it's actually better to get a premium that isn't a cruiser. The higher-tier ones earn better (except t9 > t10 when it comes to creds), though I can't say how good each of them is. Neustra is an absolute cockroach of a DD though.

    Early Access to Pan-American Cruisers

Okay, if you can spend the tokens on Jurua instead, that makes the paid BP a little more appealing.

New tech line: US or Soviet? (need advice)

I think the general gist of their lines is like this: US DD - all-rounders with good smoke, but the guns are hard to use beyond a few km. US CL - utility-focused island-campers. The perfect ships to camp behind an island close to a cap and shoot shells over it. If only you could use the spotter along with the radar... US CA - DPM-focused. Especially with the AP shells, that have improved autobounce impact angles (you have a chance of penning more angled targets). US Fast BBs (Montana) - Tough (thanks to the heal, not the armor) and with good AP. Otherwise pretty bland. US Slow BBs - Similar to the dreadnoughts that come before. Lots of HP and pretty good armor, but fires don't care about any of that. US hybrid BBs - like the fast line, but sacrifices the improved heal and some gun performance for the aircraft squad. US SS - Fast, tough and more aggressive than Germans or Brits. UUSR main-line DD - Pure gunboats with a pretty simple playstyle. USSR alternate line - Udaloi is geared for yolorushes, but has bad concealment. Ognevoi is more of a torpboat. Groz is pretty balanced. USSR BB - Very lethal at short-mid range and very tough if angled. Easy to cit if not. USSR main-line CL - Up to Schchchchors , simple kiting ships. From Chap, your main job is to provide radar for your DDs, at least in Domination. Just as squishy as the US CLs, but more effective at range. USSR Petro line - haven't played it. Looks like more armor but short-range radar. Regarding the premiums, be aware that while Salem has a superheal, it takes as much irreparable damage as most cruisers (most ships that have a superheal take less irreparable AP and/or citadel damage, as seen here). As for Moskva, it's a ship to me lacks focus. yes, it has the radar, but the detection range is way worse than the radar range (the main CL line has much closer values). Yes, it has good AP, but it doesn't overmatch much of anything at that caliber. It's clearly a long-range sniper, but you want to get close to be able to provide radar. And the AA sucks, which makes it an especially high-prio target for CVs since you can't dodge anything either, especially when you're behind a rock trying to cover a cap with radar.

Struggling on choosing a tech tree

Sticking strictly to OP's requirements (long-range, can't be deleted in one mistake except a huge torpedo salvo), I think the slow US BB line (starting with Kansas) is the best match. NC actually has kinda bad armor, it's one of those BBs that can be citted pretty easily (unlike the Germans) if it shows broadside to a BB or supercruiser. It also has slow shells, making it worse at long range, though that gets better on the next two ships (you can check that here).
