World of Warships 1 Year Anniversary Special - "ALL IN GUYS"

Why's North America server so barren? -
RN cruisers dont have to be different or unique, only have to be playable
MoveZig replied to 22cm's topic in General Discussion
I do want each line to be unique. What's the point of having slightly differently-performing ships with a different flag on them? What's there to be excited about? ''Oh man, I can't wait to grind basically the same ships all over again, but with a Union Jack on them this time!'' I'm not a WW2 history buff, I don't know how these ships historically stacked up against the ones we have, but since I love games, of course I want vehicles that are different and have distinctive features to them, enhancing the array of playstyles available to me. As long as it's not the exact opposite of how these ships performed IRL, I don't mind if the devs take liberties in favor of making the game interesting. -
I brought out my Texas for a change yesterday. Had 5 players simultaneously HE spam me, most of them I didn't stand a chance of hitting because of WASD hax and poor turret traverse. It took a while, but I just burnt to death with like 3k damage done to a 'Ruhe that forgot to turn. No chance of cloaking like a CL or DD could. Now I know how a meatball feels. Never again.

You can do them all in co-op, and bot CVs aren't exactly smart. -
World of Warships 1 Year Anniversary Special - "ALL IN GUYS"

Is it live? I got some dragon signals, that's about it. No 3x, no discounts or anything. Edit: Nope, not yet live: These bonuses and discounts (except where noted) are available in game from 17 September at 07:00 CEST until 20 September at 07:00 CEST (UTC+2) -
I was worried about stage 3, but good old Gnevny pestersome gunboat playstyle delivers again. I don't see myself using the ship though, I have enough trouble with hitting anythng with torps even when I can spam them. You kind of can't do that with the 'town. Anyway, in terms of earnings it's hardly better than a t5 non-premium DD. Still nice to have, and as long as they don't gut the stealthy cruiser concept for those CLs, the captain has a career ahead of him.

After ARP, a new anime collaboration has been announced: "high school fleet"
MoveZig replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
I'd rather have Popeye as a literal human torpedo that ignores torpedo protection. -

Never mind that, where's my Popeye crossover? ''We's sunk a cruiser, cap'n!'' -
The REAL TRUTH behind the sudden RN CL changes?
MoveZig replied to krazypenguin's topic in Off-Topic
What, are they removing smokescreens from the CLs? Tell me they're not removing smokescreens. -
This preview series indicates that at least the mid-tier ones will have mediocre and/or short-range AA.

Exchanging elite ships xp for in-game goods
MoveZig replied to Pekoe_Darjeeling's topic in General Discussion
I mean yeah, of course I want free stuff for a resouce I'll never use, duh. I don't expect it to ever happen, but signals would be best since you can't buy them otherwise. Or some cosmetic stuff. -

MoveZig replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
If they do it like FoF, I hope they at least make the second ship earnable with the first. Currently, you cannot grind Ashigara with the Hiei. TBH, I don't really care much about these promotions, since the ships don't get premium earnings, can't train captains for any country, don't lead into other ships and can't even be shown off. -
Most hated: Being DD and going to cap, being spotted by stealthier IJN DD, receiving a massive rain of shells, getting engine knocked out twice in 10 seconds, and sitting around helplessly until you blow up. Bonus points if the team goes on to win and your 50%/100% daily is completely wasted. ''Oh come on!'' type of disgusting death: Being CA and successfully fishboned by two torp bomber wings. I know, it takes skill to pull that off and I should have stuck with the fleet etc. etc. That's cold comfort when this happens and there's nothing I can do about it.

I realize that in all my time in WoT and WOWS, the highest tier I've ever had was 7. I don't feel motivated to play tiers where I'm losing credits each match. If lines generally play the same from t5 onward, why not stick with one ship? Especially since you're brutally punished for getting a new ship through the stock grind/captain retraining/module costs/learning curve. What motivation is there to play t8-t10? Is it the idea that finally, for once, you have the best possible ship and don't have to face anything higher?
-
Eh, I'd rather use it on skipping ships rather than modules. The stock grind is more bearable to me if I know the ship is going to be something I'll keep. Whereas it's very disheartening to grind modules for a ship you know you won't like anyway, just to make it less painful to play. Also, kinda sucks that the battlecruisers are stuck somewhere between dreadnoughts, if BC is what you want to play.

1y release - it´s finally time to nerf CVs & save the balance
MoveZig replied to avenger121's topic in Archive
Okay that's just silly. More often that not, they get left behind with no escort and often get picked off by DDs in the second half of the match. Have you seen the speed on the Langley and Bogue? Not to mention, every time a bomber ends its attack run it broadcasts the direction the CV is in for all to see as it heads back. A determined DD can easily spot and kill a CV, so if you hate them so much you know what to do. -
Proposal for WG: Creation of special ship "WWI Hulls" and "Random Battle WWI" and "Co-op Battle WWI" game types!
MoveZig replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I'd call it niche in the context of the game because: - Less interest in WW1 than WW2-era stuff - Low credit/XP earnings - People don't generally care about low tiers and they're easily skipped with FXP - No prospects for progression, and most people want to keep moving down the tech tree -

The problem with such modes is that they split the community, and if you're going to go down that road it's better to do so for very distinct game modes that people will be equally interested to play, rather than niche low-tier stuff that people will avoid because of poor earnings. -
Pros: No stock grind., extra use of Spotter Plane (though the cooldown makes this moot). Cons: Can't use captains for anything else, no premium bonuses, no camo, doesn't lead into anything else, can't even be used to grind the next one (a bad decision imo, you should be able to enjoy your new ship after that long grind). Since players can't even see that you're using it instead of a regular Kongo, there's really no point to this ship except to switch to Yokosuka every now and then, go ''man, this thing is gaudy'', and go play some other ship. I mean, what's the point of a collectible if you can't take it out and see newbies say ''wtf are you doing to that poor ship?''

"Air Support Is Crucial" Bug? Yesterdays Wins Gone....
MoveZig replied to CLyDeThaMonKeY's topic in General Discussion
Got to agree, playing 20 battles a day on average, in one type of ship, will lead to burnout. Let players make progress at their own pace so they're having fun and don't get burnt out. -
So you can't see ARP ships unless you're using Yokosuka Harbor as the port? I don't recall seeing a single ARP ship lately, though I reckon some of those Kongos must have been ARPs.
-
Absolutely torps, even when not playing BB most of my deaths are from those. DDs are much scarier than planes, at least the IJN ones because seriously, what am I supposed to do against a DD that can stealth torp from beyond detection range? I can't see where it is, I can't see where it's going, I certainly can't catch it. Even if I could dodge torps like Neo dodges bullets, the DD has all the cards and will get lucky eventually. Planes are more about messing you up, you can usually dodge most or all of them but in the process you can forget about anything else you were doing and in the meantime, enjoy getting shot at with impunity.

Playing for fun - a question of philosophy?
MoveZig replied to Procrastes's topic in General Discussion
Depends on what your definition of fun is. If it's yolorushing without support and leaving your team one player short, maybe you should consider not doing too much of that. Anyway, not everyone plays for fun all the time. I know I've had times when I just tolerated grinding through a stock ship to get to the part where I would later maybe have some fun. Until I set my sights on another ship in another line.- 51 replies
