I have the Ognevoi. If I could just use one word to decribe it, it would be ''meh''. The only thing that makes it stand out is that it's the only non-premium USSR DD that qualifies as a dedicated torpboat with stealth-torping. Yes, the other high-tiers can do it also, but they have bloated detection range. Ognevoi is at least somewhat comparable, if still worse than Benson. The guns are meh, you get similar firepower at t6. The speed is okay, the turning is okay, it's just a hybrid DD with more of a torp focus, that's all. It can mount Def AA but so can Benson. I guess if that's what you want, Ognevoi is somewhat better since it doesn't lose a gun. But nor can you get half-decent AA power on it with Manual Fire Control, unlike Benson.

Royal navy's BB are HERE !, HMS NELSON, King George V
MoveZig replied to Zerra_Channel's topic in Videos & Streams
If they get radar, I'm anti-hyped. Just another nerf to torp DDs. -
Yeah, I guess the added saltiness is from people angry that they won't make their service cost back, even with the economy changes. Anyway, there's not much incentive to play t8-10 unless you have one of those permacamos, a prem ship or want to do those weekly missions.

What other games are you playing at the moment?
MoveZig replied to loppantorkel's topic in Off-Topic
It's good... if you are willing to buy all that DLC. Paradox nowadays is the poster buy of releasing a game unfinished and making bank on DLC. Not only that, but they're been ratcheting down their DLC discounts. From 75% to 50% on all sites. The price-to-content ratio on recent DLCs has also been laughable. The game itself can be fun but I can't condone Paradox's transparent greed anymore. -
I haven't played much T10 but I can see how Z-52 is extremely capable when capping, especially small caps, what with the best hydro in the game. Still, sucks how trash KM DDs are against planes but you can't have everything.

The only reason why people don't consider the Shchors worse than old Pensacola is because almost no one cares about USSR ships. Pensa had a reputation of being splody as hell, but Shchors has it even worse. Cola can turn pretty good, Shchors has the turning circle of a Yamato and all of 80mm armor.

Yes, it offers to use Free EXP (if you have enough) to cover the cost. If you have enough ship EXP, it'll use that instead and you can save your Free EXP.

We just talking competitive multiplayer games, or in general? I'll assume you are. One of the first competitive games I played was Warhawk on PS3, which I really really enjoyed. Then I got COD4, and the customization options kept me coming back until I played nothing but that. I loved tinkering with all the different weapons, attachments, perks and gear. This kept me coming back for all the sequels up to BO, at which point my 360 gave up the ghost (PS3 stopped reading discs 13 months after purchase) and I stuck with PC gaming. MW3 was not fun on PC, the pacing was clearly meant for play with a controller. So no more COD. Along the way I tried a couple Battlefield games and Halo games but in the end, COD's customization always drew me back in, that was really the focal point of my console experience and it still shows in my WoT and WoWS record where I've tried virtually every line available to find the ones that I like best. WoWS has been a staple for me since I discovered it's actually playable on my horrendously laggy satellite connection. I don't have many options for real-time competitive games, but I could be playing War Thunder, which I've barely touched since starting WoWS because WT had real issues with the game modes being either too arcadey or having way too much downtime between the action in air combat. Also, Realistic Battles never got the needed overhaul to keep them being played like a Team Deathmatch for fighters, with bombers tagging along as credit pinatas. As for what mistakes I disliked most in COD, IW's games increasingly became more focused on small maps and close-combat arcadey action without enough open spaces for more long-range combat. BO was the most fun thanks to not doing the aformentioned, and having the best weapon balance.

With 2k+ games, they're not gonna be budging much anyway. They've settled into barely above-average but with fail accuracy, both of which are standard for me in games, be it COD, WoT or WoWS.

I don't usually see anything too toxically wrong with the meta tbh, though the highest tier I play is 7. Some BB players camp too much but matches are mobile enough for my liking. The border-hugging that's supposed to happen, I rarely see it unless a BB is retreating against overwhelming odds.

I know I used to get a lot of full pens on broadside DDs with Spee's 283mm when I played it. Larger calibers though, not common. Depends on the DD, the shell trajectory and the angle of impact but generally BB guns don't do full pens on all but the biggest DDs.

3 new premium ships this month, with tier 6 MM?
MoveZig replied to 22cm's topic in General Discussion
Well Anshan is worth it. Cheapest t6, and with an extraordinary FXP multiplier. For the rest, depends on how much you feel your money is worth, whether you need the extra EXP/creds, how much use you'd get from a trainer ship, and how badly you want to play that particular ship. -
What you did with "The hunt for Bismarck" and why I hate it
MoveZig replied to RenamedUser_92906789's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, god knows what they were thinking to give people a ship that is already one of the most played ships around. Actually, that might only be on EU. I hear Murica ships are more popular on NA. -
Back to the roots - on the ship roles by type
MoveZig replied to Elenortirion's topic in General Discussion
WG aren't coy about giving tips for specific ships (see Armada series), so it would be nice to have ingame descriptions for ships, including the intended playstyle. Just so we know we're on the same page as WG when it comes to how ships are meant to be used. -
On what USN ship are you having your "Steven Seagal" captain?
MoveZig replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
It was November or so, I think. About half a year. They announced ''legendary captains'' for this year. -
None. My most skilled captain has 15 and that means I'm only like halfway there. Doesn't help that I've tried every branch there is, bar the IJN cruisers because lol those citadels.

Interestingly, they even gave him lines for CVs. Where he actually makes the gameplay infinitessimally worse by delivering the lines for each squad in the same monotone voice, whereas normally there's a different actor for each squad to help differentiate them to the player's ear. -
Just wanna know so I can maybe keep some as collectibles.

This can actually be done and I've seen someone use a wreck as a shield for the short time it was afloat. You don't see it often because, well, it's hard to time against enemy shots and it slows you down.

Do the campaign containers expire after the event?
MoveZig replied to MoveZig's topic in General Discussion
I open supercontainers as soon as I get them but TYLs don't have the same ''could there be a Blysk in there?'' factor. I have over 130 of them piled up, so it's more like -
@ Clan [Scrub] Why does your CV suicide ingame?
MoveZig replied to Cpt_Andre's topic in General Discussion
Edit: NVM, was thinking of someone else. -
So the ship is unplayable if there's a CV or DD around keeping you spotted?
-
I'm probably shooting in the dark here, but has anyone else found that New Mex (presumably also Colorado) tends to be vulnerable to cits from BBs at around 13km distance? I've seen it time and again from both sides, and I wonder why that is. Is it the deck armor or the main belt that fails to perform?
-
My concern was that it would be picked up by a critical mass of players, making it a necessary 4-point skill if only because everyone else is using it and you need it so you won't get outspotted as a DD. Thankfully, that didn't happen and now it's just situational. I'd only take it on USSR-style DDs for hunting down IJN and even then it's very situational. On torpboats it can actually help the enemy team figure out where you are if you're using it.

Eh, hydro isn't a terrible choice for KM DDs and CAs. That slot in general sucks, might as well take it.
