Why the Akizuki doesn't have Defensive AA?
RAHJAILARI replied to lup3s's topic in General Discussion
Well, yeah @Seeteufel you are right in that one. The right way would be to tweak speed/stealth/torp/gun axis so they could actually hold their own against other DD in some way (so if you can't fight them, you could at the least run away- perhaps a buffed "French"-cruiser-type speedboost then?). BUT of course there is the fact that Akitsuki in particular is special, she was purpose-built to be an AA ship (kinda like mini- Atlanta) in order to ease the Japanese navy's chronic poor AA performance in the war and was therefore equipped with the very best available AA guns just for the purpose, so in that way it does make perfect sense to have DefAA at the least available, as an option to her (as it should be to any purpose-built AA defense ship). -
Why can't Edited Cruisers shoot HE?
RAHJAILARI replied to CatOnKeyboard's topic in General Discussion
Well, you know a 3rd world country and such, haven't prolly invented small enough caliber HE yet... -
How to be a tomato (or my worst weekend ever = rant)

My record is 5 detonations in a row... Because - "Naah! no need for flags, it already happened 2 - 3 - 4 times so it couldn't possibly happen again." I was wrong... -

Well, let's hear it then.. Did you make sure to farm the phrase "Are you kidding me?", "You kidder.", "Just kidding." or "You have just been kidded!" and all their possible derivatives as often as possible during the matches? That is mandatory. -
Why the Akizuki doesn't have Defensive AA?
RAHJAILARI replied to lup3s's topic in General Discussion
I like this idea @Soemba, have always wanted to try Aki with full AA potential, might be fun though I prolly would still end up using the mainly Gunboat.torp-booster setup for regular use. -

Yeah, I can feel your pain... I had one memorable rolf-stomp game, where I was our teams' only survivor (just barely "saved by the bell" at 1000 point full with just 124 HP left) and even worse I was also the only player in our team to have sunk an enemy (our team's only pathetic kill). It was all over in just over 5 minutes. I was kinda busy in my Mogami (mainly trying to dodge incoming fire, since I was focused on right from the beginning for some reason) so I have no idea what exactly transpired there and I did not have the masochistic desire to see replay to find out either and so before I knew it - PUFF, our entire team had simply evaporated. -

Thanks for the thread @SinkTheOthersNotMe, for a while there I had the distinctly horrible feeling that I was the only one having one of THOSE kinds of weekends... Cheers and better luck next time! BUT, you missed a point I think (which I sadly witnessed several times being rather diligently observed last weekend): 15) When playing Cruiser or BB, NEVER waste a single salvo on a mere DD, it simply doesn't have enough HP for you to farm awesome damage and what can the puny little shrimp do to you anyway? Yeah, you guessed it folks... I had the dubious honor to participate in several matches with 5-6 Cruisers in my team, whereby the game ended with 3/3 enemy DD's still alive at the end of it (yeah, we didn't win - Go figure) and I finding myself often being the only one to even try, only to be derided by those "better-in-the-know" in team chat for wasting ammo on the agile buggers instead of concentrating on enemy BB's first,as they did. What can I say? I'm still a potato I guess... -

Hehe! Nurnberg has long been famous for this very feature... -
Convert Captain XP to free XP? So I will be able to get all my 19 point captains back down to 0???
-
Is there now? Woah! Let's go git a whipping boyz!!!
-
Of course, I cannot just go out without any make up on now can I? It's almost like being nekkid... I have dozens of camos on shelf and still nothing to wear. It's truly a horrible thing...
-
Tst tsk @Blixies my friend, not paying attention today are we? Hhehehe! I already answered that question before you asked it... Just see the one some 3 posts ahead...
-
This is a special "Dumbo" weekend. Instead of a bonus, there will be a exp 5% deduction from the Commander for each game played.
-
Naah! Why bother? I always buy a cheapo-camo if one is available on weekly basis just to have some fancy dress for those ships that don't have their own permanent one. Thanks for the info tho!
-
Stupidly nopes, for some reason I cannot and I will be unable to log into game for some hours now to check. But i am curious abbouttit...
-
Innderesding, one more question to this.. Just bought the new Commander-camo kit (onlt the cheapo, 10 euro option).. Anyone have any idea what that does tho?
-
Ditto! Dibs on Agincourt there. Aside of Renown (and their Heavy Cruisers) one of the few British ships I actually am quite looking forward to eventually seeing in this game.

WG, tell players what is going on
RAHJAILARI replied to ClappingLollies's topic in General Discussion
Ahh! The charm of youth, idealism and innocence! Hhehehe! Let me tell you an enlightening story...: A few years back I was working in South-East Asia, we specifically hired people, with good Engrish language skills to alleviate possible communications problems. Then one day, I was holding a 4 hour training for our personnel to make sure they are in the loop about some changes we were going to make in the standard practice (quite simple ones, to be sure, but high impact). This was to take place immediately, as the current flawed practices were causing frequent issues. So having explained everything in detail, handed out written step-by-step instructions and having received personal assurances from all teams that this was going to be a cinch. Satisfied - I left for an hour to take my lunch and to let the changes take effect before the next inspection... Guess what? Sure as h*ll, when I got back all the new handouts had been neatly stacked back on my table and all was STILL being done exactly, as before (so a*sbackwards) - Including the subsequent sub-par results... I obviously blew a kilter immediately, told them to stop everything and called all the teams back to the drawing board to gently inquire why the H*LL were we still doing that sh*t when we had just an hour before agreed otherwise? Well, it turns out the reason was, that they had in fact not fully (or at all) understood ANY of the stuff I had just explained and so had resorted to just nodding their heads and saying "Yes", whenever I had asked them any question to confirm if they had understood what needed to be done. So... We were forced to hold yet another 3 days of mandatory drills, before the message got through to everyone and even then I'm not quite sure. Point being, 99% of the people you are trying to tell anything to, is not going to be paying any attention on what you are saying, well unless you're peddling porn or something. So all anyone can do is to make a reasonable effort and then hope for the best ... -
See? Precisely that there. In accordance to the honorable Imperial navy tradition, suicide is your only option. But seriously, nevermind those guys, you bump into mindless morons all the time in these games. I once got reported by a guy in his Bismarck, who felt it was entirely unfair that I did not accept his challenge to a gun fuel in my Fubuki and preferred to shamefully torp him from stealth instead. Or you know the types, who mistake a wargame for some sort of an medieval joust, where the enemies never focus fire but enact a series of tightly choreographed, ritualistic one-on-one duels. It is quite interesting (and slightly confusing) how often people seem to equate honor and complete idiocy with each other. Just learn to ignore the lot. That's all.

Haahaa! Herr @1MajorKoenig Got the first dibs on that one! Did realize my mistake just on time I gather.

Actually, I was a bit wrong previously. It turns out that Germany also produced quite a few BC's in its day and could also produce at the least a partial tech tree of BC's but also in this case... A pity Schanhors and Gneisenau have already been expended as they would have made excellent top tiers for any such and contest the seas against the British BC... Somehow, one gets the distinct impression that WG has not planned the tech trees and tier structure very well (or at all?) but are kinda just proceeding purely on ad-hoc basis. I guess Alaska could also make a nice premium BC to placate the Yanks...
-
Or perhaps the much famed HMS Outrageous, a tier 4 Prem BC? Bwahhahahaa! In fact Brits could perhaps do with almost a complete line of BattleCruisers (well, the only country to produce them in large numbers anyway). I would find that quite interesting, maybe from tier 3 up to tier 8 or some such partial tree. Perhaps the British line I would be most interested in, since I like freaks. A pity they already wasted Hood as a premium, it would have made a perfect top tier for the line.
-
Hmm, personally I would rather prefer the BC Renown, whether as a Premium or maybe, as tier 9or10 Cruiser for a possible British Heavy Cruiser-line spinoff?
