Yeah, I was gonna swear off this topic already as it is getting boring and repetitive BUT unfortunately I got plastered (or slightly inebriated, if we want to be politically correct) so here goes again... As for Concealment Skill itself - Perhaps it has just been formulated completely wrong and in such a way that it has become irreplaceable while at the same time being quite assbackwards. Observe the following:: 1) The ships most reliant on concealment skill for survival and in order to accomplish anything in this game are DD's, they are also the smallest ships in the game but curiously enough, the hardest by an expert captain to conceal - Only10%? Get real! While a huge (and several times larger) BB will be so much easier to conceal? This is, of course bollocks, quite laughable and also one of the main reasons, that encourage the much disparaged camping among BB players, not the players fault but simply stupid game design, which is not justifiable in any way. 2) The ships between the rock and the hard place would be Cruisers, who as jacks of all trades have no particular advantage going for them, so with BB's having Cruiser-level concealment values and being able to ambush and one-shot kill any Cruiser, what's the point right? BB's should never, with any skill, achieve near-equal concealment values (because this will in effect prevent Cruisers from performing their role). That is just daft, if you want to promote aggressive gameplay at the least. After all, BB's have armor and heal, they and can afford to take a hit every now and then, Cruisers not so much... 3) So therefore, the highest concealment bonus should be with DD's, then with Cruisers with BB's being that last on the list (-6% max). DD 12%, Cruiser 10%, CV 8% BB 6% perhaps. Right now the opposite by quite outrageous margins is the case, which encourages passive gameplay by BB's in particular. Naturally, it is conceivable that the effects of this skill should not be so dramatic overall, after all DD's do have good concealment from the start, but you get the point right? Perhaps just a universal -10% for all then? You know, just to move all this from the realm of the fantastically ridiculous to something reasonably possible and just fair enough? 4) The "Bloom" effect is closely related to all this and also aids in amplifying the negative effects of the misguided concealment skill in that it allows BB's to be the only class of ships, which can actually "fade" in-between salvos while no-one else can (this of course should not be the case). Therefore the "Bloom" should always be equivalent to the reloading time of the particular ship. If you want to "fade", then just skip a salvo... Making these changes would, in my view likely encourage more aggressive and active gamepley by BB's in particular, discourage camping (as there would be no point to it) and give advantage to those, who need it to perform well or at all (game balance, anyone). Of course, BB mains players will prolly hate this idea, as they would have to learn to tank (no problem for unicums of course, but the potatoes), however overall I feel that the gameplay would be much improved. Because, you know, in order to avoid getting hit, you could not just "fade" away so easily, but would actually have to move your sorry a*s and maneuver for the betterment of us all...

I was once in a game long ago, when torp soup was considered an issue (well, it could still happen tho), where enemy team had 4 Shima's and a Kagerou on Northern Lights map, when we tried to push through the straight at C (standard battle). As luck would have it all the bleedin' Shimas were there - I tell you 60 torps are bad enough, I just barely survived (took 1 though) but our team lost 3 cruisers and 2 BB's to either torp damage or flooding in just those first few minutes of the game. The feeling of utter panic was quite palpable. We did not win... That was my first and last time joining a Lemming train without vewy vewy caaawefulll considewation.

And now @kfa... Imagine the same 3 Kitakami division equipped with torp reload boosters, just like 1 madman suggested.

Hmmh, yeah. I hadn't thought of that @Nechrom perhaps there is an an idea there. Her guns might be able to defend against DD in any case. I could live with that one.

Yeah, ugly is it? Well, can't be really surprised there. I usually take the permanent camo for any ship, if I plan to keep it. But in case of Algerie i had to make an exception, have you seen that rubbish Blue perma-"camo" the saddled her with? I have no idea what the other French Cruiser camos look like tho, but this would seem to uphold the trend. To say it (the Algerie camo) is atrocious is an understatement and a gross insult to atrocious things everywhere. One would think they just ran out of effort and ideas, letting a 2 year old with no talent and only blue brush watercolor it or something... Luckily they now have a Camo-competition which perhaps can offer a remedy.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! NnOOOO! Stop giving them any more ideas like that. Now don't get me wrong, 'd love to get my hands on Kitakami, but just NOT in that kinda config, but give it 10km regular torps and Atago-stealth on the other hand...

Yeah @SeeteufeI, it is indeed quite distracting I admit. But I find the psychotic teddy-bear-thingy which captains my Tenryu much worse though. It does somewhat dent the samurai-spirit and detract from blinding glory of my otherwise truly awesome Imperial Fleet. But then again, since we can't just disband them, what'cha gonna do? Just have to make the best of it then. I even tried to watch the anime, just in case it would somehow motivate me better, but naah! Did not work, still awkward.

HAHAHA! Yeah, i have a horde of those chicks too, way too many... Though I got mine up to 19 points recently. She does surprisingly well for a babbling-chiming neurotic teenager.

Hhehehe! Mayhap then you should start dreading already, bound to happen soon enough. My own record is 5 times in 5 consecutive games in Shiratsuy... Then I saw it fitting to change ships, went to Fubuki and began wearing them flags and it all went away. I haven't had an epidemic ever since though there was this one unfortunate incident involving my poor Mogami and a Grosser Kurfurst on dope, When some totally unsporting DD spotted me just when de effin' Bratwurster was sneezing at my general direction... It was most inconvenient.

I don't have Kamikaze myself unfortunately, but I do have Fujin... Awesome ship. But it always takes me a bit aback with how some BB players especially get freaked out when seeing a Kami in the opposing team. If in Fujin, I know I'm in for a fight, ships being equal - BUT the tricky part is that the opposing player might well be a veteran player who won it as a reward so to beware is always healthy (of course, there still are some potatoes, who just bought it thinking possession of the ship it would magically bring them to glory without having to learn the intricacies of adequate gameplay). However, while good it is certainly no supership by any means. Player skill decides the outcome. I remember one game in particular, when a friendly New York totally freaked out by having a Kami R in the opposing team and messaged to team "Kill the Kamikaze first OR lose the game"... Well, in the end the Kami was the first to die ignominiously by being torp'd by me (in Emile Bertin at the time) while sitting in his own smoke trying to cap and the New York then? Well he was torp'd by an enemy Clemson while trying to rush B cap on in the Fault Line map right at the beginning of the game. So I guess we just found out, why he gets easily torp'd by anyone possessing a DD...

Well, I took some 8 random games with Cruisers early this Friday morning and decided to take my newly acquired Atagou for a test drive (and some Myoko practise too). Unfortunately my idiot flatmate had decided that Thursday night was a perfect time to get plastered. So I spent 2 of those games being disconnected due to him staggering about the place, tripping on and getting himself entangled into the bloody computer and router cables and blew a third due to him falling on me at a critical moment (which got me killed far earlier than I had planned) before finally mercifully passing out on the couch. Despite of all the aggravation I managed to get some 47k+ average damage for those games... Admitted, we lost most of them (measly 37% winrate) without a doubt due to no small part to my slight "PC instability issues" (had to re-start twice). But hey, sometimes you have to take what you can get eh?
