Roma - please change the Kobayashi camo, before it's too late
RAHJAILARI replied to Panzerblitz's topic in General Discussion
That is probably just a clever ploy for some additional fire-extinguishing capability without having to use the repair-party consumable... -

Shush! @Skyllon - Don't be giving them any more ideas... -
There definitely should also be a "Speshul Chap" award for starting yet another thread about unfair or skill-based MM...

Naah! @ColorsOfRainbows, already gots me a Yamato and I have this irrational fear of all the extra free XP burning a hole in my pockets. AND they won't let me reconfig Yamato back to 1942 setup either. No choice, I have a manic compulsion to spend, spend, spend (which is all the more Odd, since I actually DO NOT play BB)

Yeah, and besides... By ignoring the chat entirely most of the time, like I do you can't get banned from it either, Hehehe! Totally works.

Weel, anyways.. It IS the "Mighty Mushu" so I will get it first and see how it goes later on. But does not apper bad at all tho. But then again, I am probably a bad example to follow... I BOUGHT Mikasa on purpose and still keep playing it so there. Might be a sign of some mental disability there.

Hhhehehe! These things happen, just take them in a stride. I got reported for hacking last Sunday, when playing bottom tier in Mogami (Tier 10 game) on "Shatter" map. The game was quite uneventful, we were at first in trouble, but managed to regroup. I finally killed a pesky Benson, who had industriously kept busy keeping me spotted nearly the entire early game, so far so good. Then I went into the narrow straight between the C and B caps to pass south, where the rest of the enemy team seemed to be headed and there was an enemy Shima some 7 km away in front of me (I was still covered by the small island at the end of the straight so he did not see me) firing furiously his guns at the back of our Hindenburg sitting in B cap and bow-tanking an enemy Cruiser at A. Shima was driving full tilt towards C cap very near on the other side of the small island I was behind, Mogami has its torps conveniently placed at the aft-end of the ship so I popped 2 salvos of torps on his way once he was just 4 km away (with me still not spotted). Well 2 torp hits, a dead, somewhat perplexed and pissed-off Shima and we won the game by points. Well, apparently the Shima driver neither shared my chuckles nor fully appreciated the awesomeness of getting torped by an un-spotted Mogami from 4km away and reported me for hacking. And I don't even use ANY mods at all. Oh well, I got a good laugh out of it anyways so fair enough I guess.

Italian actually had many quite smart camouflage patterns in use during the war, there are even books written and published about them. Why would they not use those instead? Ok, this is not Roma, of course, but you get the point - Methinks it looks much better too... -
Ladies & Gentleman!!! "A.I." by Wargaming™
RAHJAILARI replied to AnEvilJoke's topic in General Discussion
Why so surprised, my friend? AI, after all implies intelligence, even if it be artificial. Only a human player will manage to function completely without any. This is why I do not agree with claims of having so many "Bots" in the game. I mean, truly pure, utter ineptitude can ONLY be achieved by a human player (Wohou! Take that Skynet!). -
"Pull" versus "Push" based game design. Conclusion.

God? He did that? I was quite certain it might have been Satan... But OK then. -

DUH! Sorry Dude, play WoWs - Can't read... BUT Basically, I suspect it says that WG is guilty of making mostly cosmetic changes (they have no plan but just reacting to whatever comes up) instead of trying to find fundamental resolutions (and actually fixing them) to the big issues / problems in the game and that is why we always end up with uncomfortable half-measures and continued problems or "resolutions" that only seem to lead to other, unforeseen problems and so the "circle of doom" continues. Or I could be just an idiot, who misinterpreted everything... -
Why AA are so weak ? They need to be buff a bit (even it's totally unnecessary) !
RAHJAILARI replied to Lebedjev's topic in General Discussion
Heh yeah, once ended up in a tier 4 game with a Mikasa.... What is even more amazing is that I even managed to get 40k+ damage and 1 kill before my inevitable demise. -

RAHJAILARI replied to Lebedjev's topic in General Discussion
That is indeed true @Loonsbro BUT we are talking about the chances of a tier 1 meeting any planes. What I always found funny is that pretty much ALL tier 3 DD's have mightily better AA that Fujin, Kamikaze or Shinonome at tiers 5 and 6. The only remarkable weakness of those ships. Hehehe! -

RAHJAILARI replied to Lebedjev's topic in General Discussion
Oh yeah @konean, that is true. There could be an air threat with a suitably arranged fail division and a tier 3 game... Hmmm, wouldn't it theoretically be possible to end up in tier 4 game as well then... Tier 1&2 division... -
Hheh, @HelldiverGrdude it (stats checking and such) happens all the time though it perhaps shouldn't dominate the conversation. But there was some useful advise also. Please, turn on the detailed ribbons thingy in the settings. It does help a lot in terms of selecting the correct ammo against different targets. You can always check the results in the after-battle screen and see, which ships are bouncing, which are shattering and so on. In principle, AP tends to bounce /even the heavy ones), if the target is bow-on towards you, so in those situations use HE instead and aim for the superstructure. Use AP on targets who present a broadside, though distance affects results. You can expect more bounces and shatters, if your target is higher tier that you are and you generally have to be suicidally close before getting any pens of citadels (generally less than 10km). Long distance shelling works better, if the target is lower tier than you, but not always. I am not a big fan of the bounce mechanics myself, as I feel it is totally artificial, but there you are, that's how the game works for now at the least so we just have to learn it. Angled targets tend to bounce stuff, so take that into account and you'll be allright.

Yupp, just like he said... BTW, torpedo nets are purely decorations in this game. They have no effect whatsoever. Even in real life they only could be used, if the ship was stationary and even then they were never very effective in catching anything except perhaps some drifting seaweed. This is why they were later removed from all ships. -
Aww @Taliesn don't be like that... I always thought that was rather a brilliant plan... I would totally become at the least a Unicum almost overnight. Bwahhahahaha!

Musashi will cost 92... nope! 750k freePex !
RAHJAILARI replied to PseudoMi's topic in General Discussion
Oh well, @SeeteufeI I pretty much guessed as much, It took me about the same to get Des Moines for my tier 10 Cruiser without the grind. BUT I will get Musashi anyways... Just because it is the MUSASHI !!! - In its original 1942 config (always wanted to get my Yamato like that too) AND because I'm a Deranged Wingnut. There simply isn't any other option. -
Oh yeah, @_DeathWing_ so they did... Forgot that part. Mebbe not so much likely right away then, we'll see. Of course, they could still raise the citadel a bit without officially nerfing the ship at all.

not a clickbait A new level of ABYSMAL...
RAHJAILARI replied to SomeBot's topic in General Discussion
Indeed. Well put... -
Well, of course they will have and nukes too. That is to be expected for a new line after all. But in order to make an informed choice, it might be prudent to see where the Cong will end up in the "balance" of it all. All previous lines have been nerfed before the release of the next new line in order to "balance" them, likewise it would be reasonable to expect the same will happen to RN BB's as well. They do have to "sell" the new line somehow after all and what better way than to have them over-performing for a while before moving on to the next? BTW, I personally, I have nothing invested in BB's yet, as I prefer to play DD or Cruiser (it is just less boring that way), so I do not care whether Conc will be nerfed or not, just that I do think is it very likely to happen.

RAHJAILARI replied to SomeBot's topic in General Discussion
Well, since I am now trying to learn how to Mogami - I must admit I have gained a brand new appreciation towards BB's who spam only HE. I mean bring it on! Please. -
Well, the British BB's will likely get nerfed very soon. As the French BB line comes nearer. So mebbe best to wait until after that before making a decision eh?
-
I think that the main issue here, as always, is that all the abysmal players should, by default be assigned to the RED TEAM, instead of us Good Guys. This is an outrage! I DEMAND COMPENSATION!!! A free Musashi, 1 year's premium account and extra 10.00 doubloons will do for now.

Survivability Expert cmd skill and Repair Party consumable
RAHJAILARI replied to Affeks's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I am familiar with the theory. But you know even 1 Shima AP shell does 2200 damage - Receive 2 hits and you're done for, Cruisers and BB's do much more so the additional 3500 will not get you past firing one more volley, which is unlikely to change anything (15 seconds more time to live?). So if you have not managed to make your mark in the game by then, this will not enable you to do it either. Things were different way back when, when stealth firing was still possible so even wounded Cruisers could still impact the game, if playing carefully. As it is now, you will be focused instantly and will not be very likely to survive 5 seconds past the situation where this 3500 keeps you afloat. To put this in perspective, 3500 HP is so small that even a tier 2 DD could sink you with ease. It seems to me that it would be more beneficial to invest the 3 points into a Demolition Expert, Vigilance or perhaps Basic Firing Training instead. DE to give you more damage potential for the time you DO stay alive (4-5 additional fires set per game will easily give you tens of thousand additional damage done), BFT helps you to better defend yourself from Air attack thus limiting damage taken from CV's (less torp and bomb hits on you) and Vigilance of course helps avoid torpedo hits. If you get hit by a torp SE will not save you after all. Nearly every other 3 point skill seems more useful, Torpedo Armament Expertise will allow you to shoot more torps thus increasing your overall damage potential per game significantly. The trade-off in terms of reduced damage potential and / or defensive capability just seems too great. For example: IF you choose the Torpedo Armament Expertise instead, this will allow you to reload your torps 10% faster = This in turn allows you to fire extra salvos of torps each game. If even 1 of them hits, you can easily do +21.000 extra damage. Now instead you would exchange that to 3500 HP for yourself, which will enable you to do squat. Similarly, Vigilance skill allows you to dodge incoming torps including the DW, if you dodge even 1 torp, you will already have saved up to 20k+ HP for yourself, which is significantly more than the measly 3500 you will get with SE and will allow you to keep fighting much longer and in better health. Vigilance also works all the time potentially saving you from multiple devastating torp hits while SE only does a one-time 3500 save (of course it probably won't even save you, if the last hit received does enough damage you will be toast anyway). All the same goes for DE and BFT skills, they yield much more continuous beneficial bonuses to your defensive and / or offensive capabilities than SE ever will. Oh yeah, there is also 1 more skill you could consider, which is the Superintendent skill, it gives you a extra heal instead, which returns you much more HP than SE and also gives you extra charge on all the other consumables you are mounting. +1 heal? Infinitely more useful. In short, it is quite pointless to fiddle with plugging a small leak in the kitchen sink, while you have a 6 meter torpedo-hole flooding the engine room.
