Not quite sure what this is all about, but I'll give it a try... So basically OP is dissatisfied because even, when he makes good damage in the game his team ranking in the end results screen is not necessarily always high? AND because the game interface generally feels complicated? Well, I am a senior myself (but of course, young at heart) and far from fluent in computers knowledge and have never ever played on-line computer games before I started with Wows. If I can learn it, then it should not be an issue to any of you youngsters , surely? Of course, changes are always a bit annoying at first, but one gets used to them so no point in fretting about it is there? As for the damage and team ranking, well that just means that you have to change your playstyle a bit. This game is NOT all about pure damage farming though it is important. For example; Capping is a priority and so is defending caps - Your base. You will get an awesome amount of points by just capping (of course, a BB is not the ideal vehicle for this) but you can still get "defended" ribbons by firing on enemy ships trying to cap and thus make an extra contribution to your team. You can also get added points, when you play as bottom tier and manage to damage or sink the big boys during the game. If playing Cruiser, you should always prioritize enemy DD trying to cap, you will contribute to your team's success and get those valuable defended ribbons to boot, that gets you more team ranking than just farming damage on BB in the background. You know, team-play can sometimes be quite rewarding - Of course, sometimes not but there you go, nothing is certain. I am sure the other guys here will be able to give more and better tips on how to improve your team ranking, if that is what worries you.

Restrict Purchase of Premiums to Researched Tier
RAHJAILARI replied to TheFierceRabbit's topic in General Discussion
Actually, this would probably result in INCREASED premium ship sales and not in reduction. See, people WILL buy premiums anyway, no matter awhat in order to farm more XP and credits. However, if their purchases are limited to their currently researched tier(s), so what will they do? Just not buy any premiums at all until they reach tier 8 for that Tirpitz? Hardly so, they will indeed buy the ones available to them at the time first. This of course will result in increased sales of the premium ships overall, as sk. wallet-warriors cannot just go straight for the Atago (or why would you buy Aurora, if you can have Kutuzov - Eh?), and skip the lower tier premiums entirely, but have to grind their way up first. This would also markedly improve gameplay, as one would end up with less insta-potatoes in higher tier games. As a result lower tier premiums will sell like hotcakes and keep up the sales all the way to higher tiers. people will still buy the high tier premiums, of cousrse, so their sales would not suffer in the least. Doing this would mean pure added profit for WG premium ship sales. But of course, that would require for them to actually have some shrewd and kickass sales thinking and strategy to begin with instead of a simple "grab cash" attitude. I seriously doubt this tho. -
How would you improve the skill of player base?
RAHJAILARI replied to Rautainen_Biisoni's topic in General Discussion
Weel, there is no choice but to adapt a 3-point plan here: 1) Any players, who have already been Lobotomized or are currently undergoing the procedure should be disqualified immediately. 2) Any persistently and certifiably horrible players should be replaced by bots without delay. 3) Mechanics to reward close active team play must be improved (additional credits earned based on km moved during the game, proximity bonuses - you earn more the closer you are to the enemy) or some such. I leave to you guys to come up with more creative ways. -
Aww... Herr @ColonelPete quit being so rational all the time and live a little. We were just hoping for some added silliness that's all.

Thaanks! @WolfGewehr dearie - Gramps is now a bit tired so no energy for searching around. And I knew some of you young and more energetic could rise to the occasion, hehehe! Surprisingly plain isn't it? I was half afraid it would be some kind of an Kobayashi, MarkII abomination. Not spectacular but I can live with that.

CL tech tree for IJN, CA tech tree for RN, RM lines, French DD's. IJN Tone for a prem Cruiser... Yes, there are many possibilities...
-
Ssooo, Guys what does it actually look like? This Musashi anime camo? No beer can on top, I hope?
-
Darnation! You could be right there... I might have made a slight miscalculation, when selecting the IJN BB's as "my" line of BB's. I cannot snipe all day... It is way too boring and my aim beyond 15km is utter rubbish, also I kinda like the tanking/brawling playstyle much more (better adrenaline rush available), but of course my IJN ships just do not perform well in it (bad secondaries, high citadel etc...). I do have Bismarck too and it just works. SIGH! What a pity it is not Japanese.... I was kinda hoping Musashi would be an exception. It has the potential.

Roma - please change the Kobayashi camo, before it's too late

Perhaps it IS a potato disguised, as a beer can? -

Tut tut @philjd Italians have always been men of class and clear distinction. I am quite certain they would have drank wine and not beer... -

Hhehehe! Apparently the Roma now comes with its own in-built beer supply. Perfect for those late evening Weekend matches... -
Aaaa! @NegativvvThat enlightens me even more. i have not played WoT (demands too fast reflexes for my age) so I am not familiar with these mechanics.

Thanks for that @Bellegar I was kinda confused there a bit...

"Pull" versus "Push" based game design. Conclusion.
RAHJAILARI replied to KarmaQU_EU's topic in General Discussion
Yeah I too think perhaps these issues are due to - Well, not so much "poor game design" that "no design" at all. What I mean is the the way in which different tiers, which end up in the same matches with each other) should interact in a balanced way. there should be some advantage to being low tier, as well as being the top tier in order to make it work dynamically. Also the different ship classes and how they interact with each other, their particular strengths and weaknesses as well as their overall "role" in the game is not really clearly defined. Cruisers are a good example of a "fall-through" class of ships. CL and CA are so different from eact other that they should actually be in a different tecth trees all together. It was a mistake to bunch them all up in the same one, as this causes the infamous power-creep when progressing to higher tiers, which negatively affects gameplay and consequently player enjoyment. For example, Cruisers are supposed to be the class to support capital ships and to hunt DD, but mostly lack any survival mechanism to actually perform the job, which often results in odd games with ship distributions, where there are 5 or 6 BB and DD and scarcely any other ships becoming the norm in high tiers. CL's for example should ALL have smoke (since they have no armor), if they are to hunt for DD and provide backup to own DD's, not just the British ones. All of them. Likewise the CA, being the main support ships for improved AA and gunfire to capital ships, to be viable they should have some kind of heal throughout all tiers. Similar examples abound. The interaction, division and progression of tiers and classes is just haphazardly considered and the rest just seems random. The impact of radar in game seems not have been considered in any way at all. Just to mention a few of the most obvious. Of course, since this is just a BETA, all of that can still be changed, but there needs to be a plan and I keep worrying that there might not be any. Oh yeah, in my mind planning also includes ANTICIPATING in advance, how making certain changes will affect the overall mechanic and gameplay, ship classes and tier balance. This definitely is not happening here (just consider the Graf Zeppelin disaster and a few others). -

RAHJAILARI replied to Panzerblitz's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, Roma now kinda looks like some of those subway carriages on which a horde of drunken football hooligans have let loose some random improvise graffiti-blitz. And even saying that is a blatant insult to the obvious artistic talents of hordes drunken football hooligans. -

Well, though I have the ARP ships. I have filtered them out. Like to keep things in somewhat "historical" context. Though having said that, I did employ those disturbing teenage girls, as captains in many of my ships. Mostly because I was not able to get rid of them anyways so why not? Perhaps one day I will try playing the ARP ships again. But the best thing is, that you CAN filter them out, if not in the mood, you know. -
Hehe! It could always be worse, I am currently playing Mogami and guess what? Constantly getting Tier10 and so on ... So no worries.

Roma's Kobayashi camo - I'm not even Italian and this upsets me
RAHJAILARI replied to Panzerblitz's topic in General Discussion
Well, it was kinda understandable & vaguely tolerable as long as they used those in IJN ships or perhaps even Chinese ones, but it makes no sense at all to have Kanji scribbles on an Italian BB whatsoever. -

Well, I will wait for the Italian tech tree(s) first before getting any premiums anyways. But even then, screw the improved credit farming, I will not be buying this horrid camo come what may... -

It could be that Sapporo-beer is now sponsoring WG or something... So they'll be adding beercans into all of our ships... THE HORROR! -

Beercan is part of the camo @Panzerblitz? WTF, really? They really HAVE gone all out to spoil the ship's fine lines and make it look as ugly as possible. I never knew WG hated Italy so much. That is just vicious. BUT WHY, OH WHY???! Would anyone DO that? -
