    Noobs will kill this game!

I like Noobs. Without them there would be no opportunities for sealclubbing to lift the mood on a bad day or statpadding (not that i ever) and also I got promoted to a "Premium Noob" again just this morning for playing a game with Atago. I kinda relish the title, so let's keep them all. Pretty Please? They are so cuddly and everything.
  2. Oh yeah, the free slots, forgot about that... I have well over 100 also....Do you suppose it would be possible to sell them or something?
  3. Oh D*amn and Holy Guacamole! NOW they tell me / us.Most of mine are now at 10-15 up to to 19 points already (since I used them to crew the rest of my fleet). No way I'm gonna start grinding the caps up to par again, even if the ones I have are just a bunch of annoying Little Girls (+1 Psychotic Teddy Bear)...

    Karma - Rewards and Punishments

Nailed it @Xevious_Red, and that there is precisely why I try to avoid chatting at all as much as possible or at the least until I am reasonably sure our team is mostly composed of sane people and there is absolutely no other option... Also, it'll just be a distraction and get me killed, while typing or some such. I usually just point a t the cap and F3 in general, they will come if they will come and no-one has cause to report me - Yet. Of course, if there really is no support... I'll just turn around and get reported as a coward instead, hehehe! Sometimes you just can't win.

Aww, there you go again @Jethro_Grey . We really have to work on your communication skills. See?: ONE HAS TO SAY IT POLITELY!

    Karma - Rewards and Punishments

Yeah @Xevious_Red I was told to do the same in Mogami just last night, while I was at 52 HP with an an enemy DD AND some CV planes in the air all over it. Instead I rather cowardly declined the offer, circled around a nearby island and then went back there after they all left (or I guessed they might have). We capped it in the end and won the game too. I survived, though just barely. Luckily I have never been properly house-trained so obedience is not one of my strong suits. Sometimes it pays off.

    Karma - Rewards and Punishments

Yeah @iJobyit's a plague I tell you! Dear God, if my employer ever finds out about that, I'll be chained to a desk and forced to do programming. Me, who still hasn't worked out how Corn Flakes were coded. WAH! It is a horrible thing.

    Karma - Rewards and Punishments

Hhehe, yeah @_Xaero_. I got just recently reported for hacking, when I sneaked to within 4km of an enemy Shima (in a Mogami) and torped him UNSPOTTED, not only once but twice. He did not appreciate the joke tho. To my defense, I WAS behind an island at the time.

    ingame hax confirmed

Oh that, could be just WG's own beloved RNG giving its blessings to the game perhaps? Or maybe the ship had its shields up at full power?

    A solution to passive/poor gameplay?

Oh no @MacFergus my friend, quite the opposite. there is already an excellent mechanism in place and it works. You see, every time I screw-up in my Mogami (and sadly this still happens all too often), I WILL get punished immediately by getting insta-blapped in a hail of fire. Methinks that is already punishment enough, one does not advance in stats or gameplay results, if not learning from experience. They got that covered all right.

    Karma - Rewards and Punishments

In principle, I have nothing against getting rewards for good karma. BUT that is only because I have a good karma, mind you (or mebbe not it is at 56 at the moment). However, there is a flaw in this plan. You see, I have noticed that my karma oftentimes actually increases, even if I had a MEH-game. And conversely decreases after a really good one. The problem is the aforementioned lack of good sportsmanship, you see many players will actually report you, if you happen to sink them as a sort of revenge-comeback scheit. That will undoubtedly completely ruin any such reward mechanism. Also people would compliment their clan or division members and such in order to distort the result. So sadly, the current system is way too open to blatant abuse in order for this to cause anything but more complaints. Otherwise i like the principle tho.
  13. Naah! Don't do that. We appreciate the honesty and I have found out how bloody hard it is to improve the stats, once you have already gotten the occasional 2-3500 complete-potato-games under your belt. I did actually open another account, for the same express purpose - I admit. But so far I have been simply too lazy to bother playing even a single game with it (had it for 6 months now but could not be bothered), so I am still at Hashidate and 0 battles. Hehehe!

    A solution to passive/poor gameplay?

Hehehe! Yeah, @morgoroth I remember 1 game particularly well, when i was playing Mogami recently. We had a Flether in out team (yes, tier 9 DD), who kept avoiding A cap in Sea of Fortune map, because "he had been spotted". So I went to cap myself instead (no enemy DD's in our side of map and just a lone Mino far away running some 10km away) and so got the "located"-notification... I tried to explain to the Fletch the difference, but I doubt he actually understood what I meant, there was no time to explain in enough detail and I did not have any finger-puppets.
  15. Hheheheh! Yeah, true dat. I swear the Rebs always have the advantage, probably just because WG has programmed the MM to troll me personally. That said, I admit that for the most part I am not good enough to carry the team either (strictly a weekend player, so what can I say). Well, except perhaps when playing a DD sometimes. Overall, I think my winrate might be just what i deserve at the moment, but that is still a work in progress... One day I aim to reach Mr @Negativvv - levels of shock-and-awe, but of course, that might be in a decade or 2.

Radar and Tier V & VI

Hi @ArnianorI have mainly played DD for a long time but also recently got my first and only Radar equipped ship, the Des Moines. An excellent ship, as any tier 10 should be, no doubt abouttit. BUT I also play Shima, Yugumo and Kagero and in any of them, if you are careful, you can survive and even kill the radar-Cruiser. A few pointers. 1) If there are Radar-Cruisers about, do NOT just rush a cap until you have verified their location first. Any unspotted ones WILL always be near your cap. Mr. Murphy says so. 2) Make your escape plan in advance, so make sure there is an island or something to duck behind for when you inevitably get spotted by radar. Also ensure there are friendlies nearby to run to, who can take some of the heat off your back and assist in your escape (if you solo, there will be no-one to help you and you will die). 3) You can always wait out the radar duration out of its range or behind cover. Radars have quite long cooldown periods, so once it is used up you are free to approach and cap. You can even go close enough to torp the dratted radar ship once and for all. I have Managed quite a few Belfasts in my Fujin, Minekaze or Mutsuki (due to nuke torps, this one is the best of the 3 for this job BTW). 4) Situational awareness is key, always know where the radar ships in your end of the map are and try to keep stock of when they last used it. Approach to torp range only while it is in cooldown and quickly retreat. Also radars have only a limited number of charges, so late-game (after 10 mins or so) they most likely will have used them all and it's good hunting from then on. Of course, sometimes it is a chore to live that long, but hey that is DD life for you, hehehe. 5) Ask your team to focus on radar-ships (F3 key is important) every time one is spotted so BB's can kill it off. This totally works. I hope this will help, good hunting dude!

    some normal crosshair?

    Uninstall Aslain?

    A solution to passive/poor gameplay?

Hehehe! Truer words have never been said, my friend. Though I must say Ibuki is quite all right tho. Not Super, but just OK. It feels kinda like slightly uptiered 203mm Mogami actually and I like the torp setup better than Atago's but that is only because I can get a better torp grouping and launch both launchers in quick succession without the need to maneuver in-between. That said, my Mogami is and will forever stay 155mm. Just because - 15 guns!!
  19. RAHJAILARI

    some normal crosshair?

Ehrmm, you know you CAN actually change the type of crosshair you want in the game... The standard crosshair is pretty plain. Just pay a visit to your game options and pick the one you want, problem solved.

    A solution to passive/poor gameplay?

I like to do most of my sealclubbing with a Mogami at tier 10 these days... Sometimes it totally works and is much more satisfying. That said, mid-tier games overall tend to be much more dynamic and fun for some reason (dunnoh why, better maps? Players? The mysterious Meta?).

How to handle people like this?

Yeah @Excavatus, there are morons like than unfortunately. If I did that every time I end up in a tier 10 game with Mogami, I'd get to play hardly any games at all. Hehe! I don't really see the point either, the general principle of "you win some-lose some" should be easily understandable to all. But then again, he probably felt that he is the God's gift to computer gaming and thus trolling his own team will somehow pressure WG to change the MM just for him. Well Mikasa is supposed to have a "favorable MM" and I undestand that this actually means you will end up in tier 3 games every time. Fair enough, if he wants it, let him have it. But yeah, what else can you do but to report the guy and so forth, luckily such people are quite rare and the routine will get old quickly , so you prolly won't bump into him very soon again either. So meanwhile CHEERS! Just have another coffee and a Valium!

    Musashi - Opinion

Yeah, I was actually wondering about that too. From the looks of it this should have made a perfect "brawler BB" for the IJN (and a welcome change to the usual sniping) but instead the secondaries indeed seem to be a bit meh and also the high citadel prevents any dreams of brawling fairly effectively. That seems like a mistake to me, this one thing is what could have made her significantly different (and hence more interesting to play) from Yamato or indeed any other IJN BB but it seems that they just had no concept idea behind it and instead it was watered down and became "just another boring IJN sniper" instead. A pity really, all those secondaries (the main distinguishing feature of Musashi) just go to waste, if you are forced to spend the entire game sniping 20km away. Now don't take me wrong, I would have bought her anyway. Always wanted a Yamato with 1942 setup, but it just did not correspond too well to expectations is what I am saying. I am guessing most everyone else also kinda expected it to be an excellent brawler as well.

    A solution to passive/poor gameplay?

Ahh, but @SovietFury43 my friend, there is a much easier and more effective solution to this issue than that. Why not make it so that the dispersion ellipse of the firing ship is slightly smaller, when the target ship is either stationary or moving very slowly (1/4 speed, for example), this should not be relative to the actual speed of the target, but in relation to its relative speed (as some ships are just slower, that cannot be helped and we should be fair after all). So dispersion would be biggest if target is moving at its full speed and tightest, when stationary. This would guarantee to keep them ships moving at all times. Also, stationary ships could have their detonation chances increased by 50% so from 2% to 3%, for example. Problem solved.

    Musashi - Opinion

I got the "Mighty Mushu" as well and have so far contented myself in testing different setups (AA build, Standard BB build and so on) and captain skills in COOPs, did try 1 Random, which did not go well. But that was to be expected, since I have not played BB so I was blapped fairly quickly, since the build I am testing now is of course the secondary build so I went too close too early and paid the price. That build doe not seem like such a good idea at this moment BTW. But the ship itself is pretty much just like a Yamato's baby sister, but with just WAY more horrible AA. So I guess it will be just another basic sniper BB in the end. Nothing wrong with it other than the painfully hopeless AA, but then again. I will have to learn how to BB first before I can say for sure. Hehehe! As for earnings potential, I have no idea and don't really care either. Already have pretty much all the ships I wanted and still overflowing Credits and XP, so I'm good with whatever.

    the "carry harder!" thread

Ehheheh, like I have told you guys many time already. I am currently trying to learn how to Mogami... Well, to that end I decided to take her out for a spin this morning before work. It turned out to be a VERY "Speshul" morning indeed. Check this out: As usual, mostly tier 10 games with myself as the bottom tier lunch snack so nothing new there, survived 4 of 6 - So far so, good right? BUUT the carry part did NOT work out, quite as I had planned. Initially I was quite satisfied with the results I had gotten so far, but when looking at the overall picture. I discovered a slight flaw in my otherwise cunning game plan. Can you guys spot, what it was?
