Yupp, that has indeed happened a few times too. But I have gotten the feeling that mayhap they have not always been taken too seriously by their own team either, since on occasion my karma has actually increased by a few points instead after such an incident.

I would not mind more stuff for lower tiers either. Since I often end up playing with newbies myself. A couple of new maps would be nice too. I also like WW1 era ships so that would work out nicely then.

Amen to that... Have been able to citadel Minotaurs for ages just because of that misplaced faith. Maybe this will sink in eventually and git em movin' around a bit?

Sssooo... In keeping with the time-honored naval tradition. Are we going to her the "Mighty MA" then?

A noob's rant on low-tier CVs gameplay.
RAHJAILARI replied to Warderer's topic in General Discussion
Murdering CV gameplay is what they are already doing at WG as we speak (ever heard of the CV gameplay redux to be done this year), just trying to see if there is some way how it could be made to work. Also, you are purposefully misinterpreting my post lad. I never said auto-drops should or could not be improved in any way, because if needed then that could be done too - I did mention that auto-dropping should be "safer" and reduce plane losses at the least, so why not a bit more accurate too, while at it? Just trying to figure out a working mechanism of how it could be made more balanced and corresponding to their original purpose in the game.- 25 replies

A noob's rant on low-tier CVs gameplay.
RAHJAILARI replied to Warderer's topic in General Discussion
I do not play CV much myself BUT it occurs to me that the issues CV gameplay could perhaps be resolved with just a few minor fixes such as: 1) Make it so that a CV's would always have the same tier planes, than the top tier ships in the game. Loadout could remain the same and plane numbers too. This way higher tier AA would not simply massacre all of them making a low tier CV utterly useless in combat and it would also be able to combat a higher tier CV somewhat (it would still have less reserve planes tho so less endurance but this would help). 2) Make it so, that a manual drop being a close-quarters affair would result in planes HP penalty enabling DD AA to disrupt the drop. The result would be that CV's would not be so much of an anti-DD weapon as they are today, but that it would be more beneficial for a CV player to seek out other capital ships instead (which was the intention in the first place, I believe). It would also mean that when attacking a target with heavy AA, auto-drop with cross-dropping employed would lead to reduced plane casualties (maybe so that AA effectiveness is reduced a bit, since dropping from greater distance the close range AA is not so effective but only the medium and perhaps long range would count 100%), while attempting a manual drop against an AA cruiser would be nearly suicidal (as it is already so not much change there anyway). This way it would also be possible for the target, to conduct evasive maneuvers and perhaps avoid at the least some hits. The exact mechanics of this would work should of course be tested and balanced out properly first. 3) One way to do this might be that when a manual drop is used, target ship's CLOSE RANGE AA ONLY (so the pea shooters with a range of under 2,5km only, for example) would get a 50% boots to its effectiveness. This would make it somewhat trickier to knock off DD's but it would still be possible tho... Perhaps these things would ease the pain a bit and help balance things out, I don't know (since you know, not a CV player myself). But we could always think of some such, lessee what the CV players have to say.- 25 replies

Well yeah, there is that. BUT USUALLY when you ram into a friendly team member, both of you will automatically get the same warning (the one you can see in the team chat) and because the damage inflicted is usually negligible, it means nothing. Of course, if the other ship is in very bad health like in this case and dies of it, then it can't be helped and that's just crazy rotten bad luck and nothing more. In any case, no need to sweat over it. Pink is a beautiful color, as long as you don't wear it too often or on purpose.

Denial is a powerful thing... Hulloh Good Sir, was wondering when you'd show up here. And yupp, we fell for it. Urgently need an expert opinion on "denial".
-
Weel, quite a bit below average considering that he is also team killing and causing more of those losses himself.
-
Yupp, they have been actually... See above 48% winrate etc...
-
Sadly, if after 16.000+ games you still think and play like that (expecting other to carry the game for you), nope you will never make to being even an average player - BECAUSE to improve, you have to learn and that is clearly not happening here. At the moment, it seems that you got exactly the kind of teams you deserve. Which co-incidentally happen to be the exact same ones we all get. It is your own thinking and skill that has to improve, before anything will improve.

U sure it was not a Monarch?

That still puts you in pretty much the same category will all the others in 40% WR bracket, no reason to go boasting about it too much. BUT the important thing is... So basically what you are saying is that you have somehow managed to play 16.000+ games without improvement / learning anything at all? Don't really understand how that is even possible, but fair enough if you say so. You should really look at yourself in the mirror at this point and try to improve your own gameplay instead of just continuing with the same BS and blaming everyone else for it.
-
Oh no need friend... Totally understand. Was just checking, if I could make you feel a little guilty here.
-
Most calm, my friend? Totally Zen... But basically I agree with what you said (except for the "I will find you part", that sounded a bit too much like losing my cool there). I just KNEW he was a potato, nice stats - Just the kinda confirmation bias I needed for my ego today hehehe!

Dilemma of IFHE on the Bismarck 105 mm secondaries
RAHJAILARI replied to callumwaw's topic in General Discussion
I TOTALLY WOULD!! There, we can count @tank276 successfully trolled for the day. No need to thank me. -
They are SOOO unfair... But hey, that's HOW you are supposed to play this game right?
-
It gets even more amusing, when you try to check his stats today and realize he's just marked his stats, as private, so no-one could actually see them Hmm? Perhaps a tater calling another a potato then?
-
DUDE, JUST STOP PLAYING. Totally works OR man up and suck it up just like the rest of us. Happens to everyone, nothing special here. Besides, whatever the stats of other people happen to be - It don't matter, they cannot prevent you from playing well - Only you can do that. So if you didn't shine but sucked instead, it was just because you didn't rise to the challenge and play well enough yourself. Of course, these being Randoms, occasionally the scale of the said challenge may vary.

That could indeed be the case. I witnessed 1 case last weekend, where my divisionmate in a Bismarck was capping B on "Warriors's Path" map. An enemy Chapayev then popped up from behind one of the islands next to the cap on the other side and saw it necessary to turn on his radar just to see him even better (I guess), weel it ended promptly, after the Chapa ate 3 insta-citadels and departed the game. I am still somewhat baffled tho. They weren't more than a few km apart to begin with, there was no smoke and the Bismarck must have been clearly visible. But oh well, 1 score and a free cap for us YAY!

Hmm, good theories all of the above Lads. But one more - I have been in a few matches myself, where I much to my bemusement, quickly discovered that no-one else in the green team was even remotely interested in shooting at the DD's or even Cruisers, but obstinately kept blazing away at the enemy BB's (or "farming damage," as some of the more enlightened explained it to me) only (sadly BB's can actually soak up quite a bit of damage before going under) all the while taking HE and torp damage from enemy DD's and Cruisers, who are meanwhile able to blaze away at them unchecked. None of those matches have been wins and usually quite lopsided losses to boot, I'd bet my money on that (if I had any, that is).

What is the stupidest thing you did today?
RAHJAILARI replied to piritskenyer's topic in General Discussion
Weeel, was in a battle on "Warrior's Path" map going to support our DD at B cap in a Mogami. So far- so good, right? Distinctly remember thinking "i should pass BEHIND the island just next to the cap, because if I get spotted in front of it, I will get killed." (because I am highly intelligent, tactically brilliant and of course NEVER wrong, as you can see for yourself) - Oh weeelll, for some unknown reason I then went on ahead right to the front of that blasted island anyway and sure enough, immediately ate 2 citadels and spent the rest of my 15 seconds of life in a "Hail of Glory" being shot to ribbons by all the 153 Gazillion ships which apparently constituted the enemy team near B cap at the time - Brilliant! It was awesome while it lasted, but in hindsight I probably should have listened to myself in the first place... -
Am I the only one who loves 1 and 2 point Captain skills?
RAHJAILARI replied to VC381's topic in General Discussion
The same, I take both on all cruisers and BB's even when the Cruisers in mounting Hydro instead of Def AA just in case you know. Usually my 203mm armes cruisers (except for Des Moines, since it has good AA anyway and the guns fire very fast so it is an anti-DD build) would mount Def AA and the 150+mm armed Cruisers a Hydro. The reasoning behind this is, that since the 203mm CA tend to be slower firing, going after a DD in its smoke is kinda tricky, if faced with a skilled opponent and you do not have much time to counter, if he decides to attack instead of running. So I usually try to engage DD from further away with these Cruisers. Des Moines exempted. The small-gun CL however are fast-firing and have quickly rotating turrets so they can keep up with even an aggressive DD in a close-up fight without too much trouble, so that's why all of mine mount a hydro instead of def AA. Also other exceptions to this rule exist... Hipper and Algerie both have a relatively quick reload, so I equipped them with hydro as well, instead of def AA. But, as mentioned before all would still have both BFT and AFT regardless of their intended "role" and module configuration. -
It was close though. +1 for trying.
