    Yupp, you're right about that... Fixed it to. "new/poor players" instead. Though that said, i am working my way to becoming a 1+k Shima one day (no worries Lads that will be only AFTER I become a 2+k Mogami first, long ways to go yet) myself. Though I prolly should open a Shima player tips thread here at the forum first just to avoid the dreraded "Potato-Phase" of things.

    Ahh Shimas, well that explains it. Shima is quite unfortunately a "Potato Magnet" par excellence for new/poor players because of the awesome 15*20km torp salvos possible (but not a recommended choice tho, mind you) and so forth. Unfortunately this does not guarantee that the said persons could actually play it - OR any other ship for that matter. And to answer your question, yes, the reporting function is just a placebo designed to make you feel good, but with no actual consequence to the reported party (other than losing some karma points, which does not matter anyway). Well, except if you report someone for "misbehavior in chat" that apparently gets the person chat banned, if there are enough reports (must be more than 1, I guess). I have no idea how many tho. Oh yeah, forgot to mention. Nobody goes pink just because someone else reported them - No maater how many times, that is a misconception for sure. One goes pink ONLY for doing team damage. Trust me on this one, have f*cked up a few times like that myself (but I'm gettin' better now, no worries). Welcome to Tier 10 BTW, hehehe!

    Hmm... You're in a schtick indeed @Blixies my friend. Personally I'd recommend the option to sacrifice your first born for starters. If that does not work, perhaps try talking to a Burning Bush or some such. It's been rumored to work occasionally anyways. And if all that don't work either just go with @nambr9

    True dat, but I kinda never play them actually. The only reason I have not sold them yet is that I still have some port slots left and don't really need the credits either so it kinda does not matter either way. But on the whole, it doesn't really make sense keeping ships that you're not going to actually use. Unless just for decorative purposes perhaps?

    I have them all, but have barely played any. Somehow I have kept them tho. Perhaps it is finally time to bow to the inevitable and sell them off already, since I see little reason for keeping them. Might keep some of the higher-point captains tho.

Some months back, I was divisioned up with our Clan's very Noobest player at Tier 1 (my job to coach and escort them to at the least to tier 3) and we lost after a tight fight. When someone in a Black Swan, having died early started raging and foaming at the mouth about "Noobs" in game. Oh well, I could not resist the temptation and just had to ask the genius. ... How is it that he did NOT expect any Noobs playing tier 1? He never answered, so I guess that'll remain a haunting mystery to forever keep me awake at nights. Sigh!

    Hmm, @HMS_Argosax maybe they could make subs kinda anti-camping thingys, since they are generally slow. Lemme think abbouttiit.. How it could be made to work?. 1) Cap them to a max of 0-1 per team. Depth Charges available to DD's and some CL only, adding them to the game should be no problem anyways though CV's, BB's and CA's should probably be limited to dodging torps or trying to surprise on on the surface. Well that sould also be possible, if diving is a consumable. It will run out of charges eventually... 2) Make them spawn either in the middle of the map, randomly in-between teams OR somewhere a short distance to the side or behind the enemy team's spawn. 3) Choice of torp type, able to switch from DW to regular just like gun ammo and either a narrow or single-file-launch spread available. 6km torp range, 6km surface concealment and 2 km submerged concealment. 4'5 km with Hydro, of course, depending on its range. 4) Able to fire their deck gun from stealth (7-8km gun range?) if not in surface spotting range (well, anyways the paltry 1 or 2 guns is not going to make a huge amount of damage). 5) Possible to be spotted by a Spotting Aircraft though, even when submerged. By a Catapult Fighter, only when on the surface. 6) Ecape mechanism would be to deep-dive, but not able to launch torps while doing so (could be another consumable with limited active time during which undetected by sonar and have to make your escape). Once this consumable's action time is used up the sub will automatically re-surface. 7) Detectable by radar while on surface and by Hydro, if submerged, even while deep-diving. Also by any ship simply close enough (proxy spotting, as usual). It just could work ... Could be bad news for BB camping tho.

    Oh I know it is a crap game overall, but I think the submarine mechanics are basically sound and the gameplay with them is not a complete disaster either though it could be improved upon, of course. My thinking here is, that IF THOSE GUYS could pull it off, WG definitely should be able to do the same and much better (OK, a little hopeful thinking there, I admit). But, as said, the basics are right there for the taking on where to start from and how it could work anyways, so why not? You see, I am a very fickle person and need more variety to maintain interest in anything at all for an extended time (generally this can considered to be anything that exceeds 15 mins), so I would welcome an additional dimension to the game. Well, ANY additional - The more, the merrier... To be quite honest. Hehehe!

    True all dat. However most of that is precisely what would make it an interesting addition. I for one would like to give it a try to depth-charge one of them things occasionally. All this works fine in Steel Ocean anyways and there tends to be at the least 1 in every game.

    Pffth, that's nothing lad! I once had a solid 40% WR losing streak for 2 months straight and I even managed more than 240 games (not to mention the 2-3.00 odd games I totally threw in the beginning because I potato'd way too much) during the time. It all evened out after that though so now I'm at 52%, which I feel is rather fair. Losing streaks happen, that's what "Random Battle" means. After all you are just 1 of 12 players and in the end the extent you will be able to carry the rest of the team team is limited at the moment. BUT, not to despair you can have more impact, if you play in a Division with 2 friends (who do not suck).

    Have it and all I can say for sure is that you will love every game with NO CV in it. The rest are pure agony unless you manage to recruit a friendly AA-Build Seattle and permanently strap it to your side..

    Weel, they were able to do that in "Steel Ocean" and it seems to work just fine so I do not see why not in WoWs. It would be technically possible and gameplaywise feasible annyhoot. Whether or not WG actually wants to do it is another thing entirely. I am all for it, if ever, it certainly would add another dimension of interest to the game to keep it from getting stale and boring at the least. Though I must admit, I would most likely not be playing any myself. I would be most interested to see how they would pull off the I-400 class Japanese Submarine Aircraft carriers, in particular. Hehehe!
  22. Personally. I was not talking about French high tier Cruisers at all, as you can yourself easily verify, if just actually read my prior post. You see, I have absolutely no interest in French hight tier Cruisers. My Interest in the line ends with Algerie and I'll gladly leave paper ships for the other children to play with. No - I was talking about the next possible new gimmick + ITA & RU BB lines which might employ it.

  24. Ahh, but they have already added this Reload Booster, which did not exist before, have they not? So not so difficult at all. Besides, the upcoming Italian / Russian BB line does undoubtedly nee a speshul gimmick to make them unique. So what better or simpler to do than to give them somewhat of a "shotgun" normal dispersion and then balance it out by adding an Aiming Booster to deliver that Uber-accuracy needed for solid multiple citadel hits every now and then? That would be only logical conclusion to the gimmickry-trend. Also, since the basic dispersion mechanic already exists in the game, it would not be overly complicated to give it a temporary boost.
  25. Nopes, I mean an additional consumable. For selected ship(s) or ship line. Sooner or later.
