Are we getting less and less special flags per buck?
RAHJAILARI replied to Blixies's topic in General Discussion
Well, personally I have 786.806.377 extra credits at the moment, so I am not concerned about that BUT I do have a whole bunch of inept Captains in dire need of building up their skills, so I am rather more interested in those flags (and camos) that boost the Captain XP for the time being at the least. -
why do soo many very experienced players feel the need to be a tier 1 seal clubber?

Shame on you, good Sir! For your penance you'll need at least 12 "Hail Mary's" and 25 flagellations *5. -

BWAHAHAHA! I can top that very soon, will be upgrading my currently 12-point dedicated Mikasa seal-clubber cap to 19 points this Sunday (once I have collected the required insane amount of elite XP). We will indeed become the terror of the seas! Whether our fearsome participation will terrorize the enemy or our allies more might still be up for debate tho... To quote Sir Arthus Wellesley when he, apparently rather impressed by the team, read the names of his generals - Krhm krhm: "I only hope that when the enemy reads the list of their names, he trembles as I do.". -

@BlixiesYamamoto is 13.50 euros for a set of 5 containers. Usually they contain 12 signals and 2 collectibles, but every once-in-a-while you get one with 24. No idea how often that happens tho... -

Uh oh lad... It might be a good thing you were ignored tho. Involving the entire Clan may not be ideal, as it might very well actually result in you getting trolled by an entire clan of miscreants in every game you share with them rather than just this one idiot this one time (it has happened). After all many clans are composed of similarly-minded people who are presumably all buddies and don't know you, so they are liable to take his word before yours. Just saying. -

Weel, I don't like much the new flags either. BUT I tested the theory by buying a couple of Yamamoto Containers and the other one yielded the same 12 Ouriboros as it could have before and the other one 24 Hydras, so it still seems legit (or at the least that's what I always got from those anyways - either 12 or 24 randomly). -

AWESOME! Sounds like a typical Mikasa "Favored MM" game to me... Though somehow I quite often also get into nearly-all Tier 3 ship games, where it is fun to try yourself out against the likes of South Carolina, Kawachi or Nassau. Because you totally outgun them (at 3km range)... It's getting to within the 3km effective range to do your dirty deed UNDETECTED that is the true Challenge of Champions (it's never worked so far for some reason, but someday it will). -

Weel, on the other hand tho. You have to give them a little credit tho, they are usually right. The game indeed will be lost, it's just that they haven't yet realized that THEY themselves are the retarded ones mostly responsible for it. If ever they do, they might actually start winning, God forbid. -

Yyeeah, the problem with those kinda things is that when you do, as they have asked and spot something there. All of the sudden everyone's busy doing something else and no-one bothers to shoot at anything you have just risked your neck spotting and you'll find that you are the only one actually shooting at it. AWKWAARD!!! -
Yeah well, War Thunder is/was apparently at the least planning to end up with something integrated like that methinks. I am waiting with some interest to see what they might come up with shipside in particular. We'll see what happens....

Pffth lad! There is absolutely no need to worry. Will never happen, as long as there are mor*ons like me (and we are in infinite supply too), who actually keep their ships (even the low tier ones) and LIKE to play them mid-tiers too. There is much more variety and fun in middle-tiers. I have tier 10's yes, but do I play them? Not so much. I went back to mid-tiers because you get 40% more different types of ships and maps you could bump into => More Fun! Tier 10 on the other hand = BOORING!
-
WOT - Me neither BUT how would your premiums suddenly get more useless? If you keep playing them they will be just as useful as they ever were won't they?
-
I think no need to worry lad. I like playing middle tiers and sometimes even the lower ones. Probably there are more people out there who do the same. AND I find tier 10 quite boring to be honest, all the same ships in all the same 2-3 maps which I hate all over again ad-nauseam... There's much more variety available in the middle (tiers 5-8) and I find it quite often more fun too.

Weel, I don't think we have to worry about that. Some people will never know, no matter what you tell them. We have people at tier 10 with more than 16k battles under their belt with a 40% (or worse) WR, who still have not figured out that the game is too difficult for them. So no worries, no-one has ever quit doing something (even if we desperately wished for them to do so) just because they happened to be inept at it. -

A very good question... Have never felt that need in particular. i only go there, if I am in division tutoring a new guy into our clan. But then again, that would still count as seal clubbing wouldn't it? -
Hey WG, here's a list of premiums we need but don't have (hint money for you)!
RAHJAILARI replied to PassTheSalt's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I remember the thread, but not everyone agrees with it. It is simply just a very bad idea which would produce something that would be both - a bad CV and a poor Cruiser and who would want that? Besides, I do not know anyone autistic enough to be able to pull off a play like that anyway (BOTH Cruiser and CV at the same time when normally you have your hands quite full just doing one of those things at a time). It would be preferable just to release it as a Scout Cruiser with both Catapult Fighter and Spotting Aircraft consumables available at the same time and leave it at that. In any case Tone also had the advantage of having 150mm armor, as compared to Mogami's 100mm due its peculiar gun arrangement, which should make her considerably more robust + also a crap*load of extra AA to boot. So what's not to like? They should just get on with it already, we're all gettin' old fast (and some, like myself, rather faster than others too) Same concept could also be used for Agano & Oyodo. Heck, make it an all new IJN Scout Cruiser Branch, while at it. FOR EXAMPLE, like this: Tier4) Sendai - Basically a Kuma with a Def AA & Spotter Plane consumable with 1 basic charge. No Hydro. Tier 5) Nagara - The same (perhaps slightly faster firing 140mm guns) BUT Def AA + Catapult Fighter + Spotter Plane, 1 charge each. No Hydro. Tier 6) Agano - 155mm guns + the same consumables as above. Def AA could be made alternative with Hydro. Tier 7) Oyodo - Slightly faster firing 155mm guns & improved protection + same consumable layout as Agano with 2 basic charges each. Tier 8) Kumano, 15*155mm Mogami guns + all the same consumables, 2 charges each. Tier 9) Tone, 203mm guns (with narrow dispersion and longer range than Mogami but shorter range with slightly faster´reload than Ibuki) + all the same consumables, 3 charges each + Heal, of course. Problem solved, no unforeseen glitches or gameplay balance issues. End of dithering about with it. No hoorrible Graf Zeppelin-type nightmare disasters upon release. We get ship, WG get moar mooneys = Everyone happy Bunnies. Can be done today. -

Yeeah, but then again she would work better a a Scout Cruiser, just as she was designed instead. Cruiser/Float-plane Carrier combos are a braindead idea to begin with. I mean who the heck has the time to be aiming and shooting guns while dodging incoming rounds (the usual Cruiser's main hazard) to avoid getting citadelled AND ALSO presumably simultaneously fiddling about to direct squadrons of planes? You're gonna need a few extra pairs of hands (maybe additional heads too) to dance that dance. Keep it simple, just give TONE both Catapult Fighter AND Spotting Aircraft consumables to cover that part of the bill and be done with it so we can get her within our lifetime. We're all gonna be long dead of old age before they get anything like an FP Carrier to work, if even then (just think of the GZ fiasco*2 here). And in any case, if they are serious about introducing a whole new ship class like that CHITOSE would be a way better platform for it than Tone (since it had more planes and was actually built as a seaplane tender to begin with - Tone was not). -
I have had Gaede for a long while now, but did not play it much so far (since focusing on IJN ships first) however last weekend I decided to take her out for a spin or 2 and the results were predictably disastrous. Well, obviously she does not play like any IJN ship, so i ditched the torpedo-boat playstyle and tried to be a LOT more aggressive with it. I had a few quite decent games to be sure, but much more utter disasters due to excessive Potato-ing by myself. So I guess, before calling upon any further humiliations upon myself, I should perhaps consult the wiser minds in this forum on some tips. below my setup and capt'n skillset at the moment for your information and improvement suggestions: Ship Upgrades) Main Armament Mod1, Steering Gears Mod 1, Smoke generator Mod 1 & Steering Gears Mod 2 Modules) 150mm guns, B hull, upgraded Torps & Fire Control Captain Skills, 19 points dedicated Captain on board) Preventive maintenance, Expert Marksman, Smoke Screen Expert, Survivability Expert, Demolition Expert, Concealment Expert & Radio Location. So basically, how I try to play her is as mainly a cap contester or if several other (and stealthier) DD's on our side, then backup their efforts staying about 1km behind the leading DD. Then using hydro to spot enemy DD, if there is smoke, unless we have radars, then I leave it to them and just shoot at other DD's and try to torp stuff. Smokes first, then closest enemy Cruisers or BB in this order. If spotted, I lay smoke and bravely run away until not spotted, then make a U-turn and return to front - Repeat. Observations: 1) Guns fire quite slowly, so I have considered taking Adrenaline Rush instead of Smoke Screen Expert instead. This is also a problem, when in a knife fight with other DD's. 2) Concealment is just ba-a-aad (well, compared to my IJN DD's anyway), which kinda makes you an instant target for any nearby enemy Cruiser(s). Practice improves my dodging skills tho. 3) It does make a quite decent torpedo-boat, especially if enemies keep coming towards or stay parallel to you tho. However, any enemy DD in vicinity is bound to spoil you fun by spotting you at rather inopportune moments. 4) Speed is average, but Sierra Mike helps a lot in this regard. I also use Juliet Whiskey (flooding) and Juliet charlie (detonation) flag in nearly every game. 5) I have tried to approach caps in cover of an island(s) for as long a possible to compensate for the poor concealment, however this will inevitably lead to sudden critical situations once I get there and bump into the enemy DD at very close range and I won't always come out on top. Also has the negative effect of not being able to spot approaching enemy Cruisers or BB, which is equally bad for my backup. Perhaps just stay out of cover so i can spot instead? 6) Being able to get a citadel or 2 with the AP on Cruisers is definitely a bonus but of limited utility, as you don't really want to be dueling them in the first place. So I'm still unsure which is the better gun choice? So what'cha think oh ye o' mighty and exceedingly wise? Any thoughts?

Can totally identify with this one... It is way too often that I have come to the horrific realization (in a Mogami tho) just 1 second after launching my awesome volley of torps and zooming out, that there IS/WAS an incoming friendly ship just next to me, which I had not noticed previously... Of course, it often also turns out that the said friendly team member is not necessarily quite so friendly afterwards. Go figure... On the positive side, I have since learned to check minimap WAY more carefully and to Zoom out to take a look around before launch. We live and learn, even if the other feller perhaps didn't. -
