  2. I agree and in any case, also where the shots are going to land will be decided by the server when one fires. So if the target WASD's, slows down, speeds up or does anything different it will miss by a mile. Don't see any point in even trying to use those and besides it would get me banned so nevermind eh? I can miss the target reasonably reliably on my own already.

    African-american pre-saturday

But to answer the question... It is supposed to be 23.11... So my guess is next week then?

Same Detection Marker for Hydro and Radar

Well, since I am just basically obtuse and irrational I also oppose that most fervently. Radar / hydro should NOT be the ground penetrating kind. But oh well... No idea why actually. But I guess they might have considered that as reasonable info give out. But, as I said, don't really care either way nice if they do, won't mind if they don't.

    Torps are becomming stupid.

Quite bafflingly, I have noticed the same thing... I really should stop sending them to all the wrong places perhaps?

Same Detection Marker for Hydro and Radar

I think, you just pinpointed the exact reason why WG decided to NOT differentiate the markers for Hydro & Radar. That would just give away too much info I guess. Kinda like having different detection markers for whether you were detected by a DD, CV, CA/CL or a BB. Ce est la vie. It won't bother me either way.

    Torps are becomming stupid.

Quite impossible lad. The maximum damage a torp from Shimakaze can do is 23,766, so either you flooded or detonated and besides I have several hundred games in a Shima it is hard enough to get any hits at all because its torps can be spotted 1.8km away even without special skills or Target Acquisition System Modification 1, if the enemy is actively changing course or trying to dodge. So if you got killed by one in a Monty, you must have blundered yourself. Hint: If you have problems reacting to torps take "Vigilance" skill for your captain AND Target Acquisition System Modification 1, you'll be spotting torps several km away even without a hydro...

One too many torps to the face, I gather?

Is "Concealment" the new "Situational Awareness"?

Pretty much yeah, at the least until they change how it works.

    things I do not digest

Hmmh, for a while there I thought this thread might be about Icelandic cooking or something else equally horrible and malodorous but yet another MM whine? Oh well....
  11. Got one too... I just spent it on buying some doubloons, but I was gonna do that (buy doubloons, I mean) anyways. Problem solved.

What is going on with the game?

Yupp, if there are losing streaks, it stands within reason then there must be those who win too - Well that is my theory on it anyways. Though it is rather unfortunate that my "Winning Streaks" tend to be somewhat imperceptible and far less common than I would like. Hehehe!

What is going on with the game?

Yeah, I agree. BUT it is nice to have that option available anyhow. Especially, since I'm primarily playing Cruisers at the moment and their carry potential is just not the same like CV or BB or DD's in any game. You escort the others, try to be in the right place at the right time to provide support and then basically hope for the best. I get much better results in a DD when playing solo, eventhough I rather paradoxically score much more damage in a Cruiser almost every time. It can be frustrating and yeah I know where your clanmates are coming from - Mine always try to entice me to take a DD instead, since I play them better but hey. Never gonna learn how to Cruiser if I don't practice right?

What is going on with the game?

Yupp, pretty much the same issue with my solo games last weekend. Luckily one of my regular "playmates" (no, sadly not the kind you are thinking of), who also happens to be a Unicum level CV player came on-line just when I was about to quit the da*mn game with nothing but zero-nihilus losses (yeah, even being the best of a losing team is still no fun, no matter how often you do it), so we divisioned up and HALLELUJAH! My measly stats were saved! Had nothing but wins after that. Phew! That was a close call tho. Yupp, I admit it - I was totally getting carried there but hey, whatever works right?

Just another losing streak, that's all. Happened to me last month too. Just have a break and another KitKat...

Are the ships in this game too fast ?

Ehm, you DO realize that the map sizes are smaller than actual engagement ranges in real life and also that battle duration is limited to only 20 mins instead of several hours or days like it reall was right??? Would you really want to spend half of your available gaming time just ever so slowly but surely approaching a target? Instead of engaging it and actually having a fight?
  17. Well, assuming there are no complete idi*ots around (risky, I admit). But of course, the chance of this actually happening would still be very rare. Radio commands should only be reserved for most common situations, don't you think? I mean, we could also have a command "Press F12, if you are about to be hit by a random meteor" but how often would it be used actually? Since the number of commands available for quick use is limited, it makes sense to limit them just to the most urgent and commonly experienced situations. Also, it is my experience that once we get such mo*rons in the team, who throw the game by pig-headedly chasing a single ship to the ends of the earth, they also read no chats and no argument you can put forward, no matter how eloquent will change their minds and make them give up the chase. So it would just be a waste anyways. There's no point preaching to the deaf, no matter how loud you may try to shout.

    Bad Destroyer (DD) PLayers

Errhmhm, what key was that again Lad? Nevahööd... Hhehehe! Sorry, I had to do it, there was simply no choice. But yeah, unfortunately you are correct here, oftentime the DD's do get insta-killed precisely because they are trying to do their job. Oftentimes, perhaps over-eagerly too. I have lately, after much reflection, learned to keep an eye on the backup or the lack of it, when playing DD and usually go somewhere else, if not being followed by friendly Cruiser / BB, if they go slow and are far away, I will slow down a bit also. No sense taking too many risks all by yourself is there? And also, when playing Cruiser, I usually try to support my chosen DD by staying some 5km behind him and and firing at the first enemy DD he runs into in hopes of getting it killed and saving ours for later capping use. Sometimes it works too. And of course, ideally some available BB backup further 5-10km behind me (hence some 15km behind the DD, depending on the BB's concealment range) would be preferable.

    Bad Destroyer (DD) PLayers

-> 50% BB player, some 3500 games played. 51+% WR stats, hoping feverishly to improve but ALAS suffering from a recent losing streak apparently attributable to uncooperative DD's.
  20. RAHJAILARI

    Bad Destroyer (DD) PLayers

True, but then what's new mate? But of course, po-tatering is not particularly DD-specific feature, you know. There is an ample supply of bad players such as this playing every tier in each type of ship in this and many other multiplayer game(s). Can't do much abbouttiit, except to make sure we won't be the ones to screw up first and doing our own best after that. And failing that, oh well just making sure that at the least we ain't gonna potato TOO often ourselves would be fair enough too. Then psych up and try the same sh*it all over again...

    Wtf were you thinking?

Dude... Stop giving them more ideas...

    Reasons behind "Roflstomps"

Krhm krhm... Care to amend your statement right there Lad? And these are only my own mediocre stats, Unicums can and will do much better than that. BUT if you are interested, the CV commander on that particular occasion was called (rather curiously): "Antcommander" from a FIN clan, look up his stats to verify. Since that experience I have, quite cunningly, taken up playing in division with this particular fellow.

    Destroyers and bad game design

Still with you lad and I agree there are issues (though not necessarily on these specifics), but I would be more interest in hearing what improvements do you propose to do exactly?

    Isnt fire overrated?

Weeel, you may have heard of Battle of Tsushima at the beginning of 20th century. There were also several battles at a place called Guadalcanal during WW2, where IJN Hiei, was crippled by fires and eventually sunk. So yes, fires have had quite a significant effect even in Modern naval battles, you might also take a look at what happened to Bismarck just before the end (she was reported by the British to have been burning from bow to stern). Likewise incidents of burning were also reported on bord American Battleships at Pearl Harbor. If anything, since fire damage is fully repairable, it might actually be nowhere nearly as destructive, as it really was (for example, you will still be able to fire your guns, while on fire in real battles and for obvious reasons, a fire would often force the nearby guns to go silent until put out). You might also check out the sinking of HMS Sheffield during the Falklands war in 1986, You see, ships even these days have many many flammable substances on board: Paint burns, engine lubricants and hydraulic liquids burn, also there is often something called FUEL on board, which tends to be quite burny as well as the decking itself, all the furnishings and bedding inside and so on and so on.
  25. I agree that we need more useful rado commands, but this particular one would be about as useful and counterproductive as introducing a radio command saying: "Kill me first!" which would also show your exact position on the minimap to the enemy. IE it makes no sense whatsoever. A kill is only secured, once it actually happens and not a second sooner, so the only rational approach is to focus-fire low HP enemies to ensure they drop down quickly, as they will remain equally powerful to full HP ships and a flooding or burning ship can still deal full HP damage to allies, or even survive on to produce a "Solo Warrior" at the end, as I have bitterly discovered a few times.
