" Embrace the storm's wind as you take to the high seas in this stunning camouflage! Offering you +75% XP, Crew XP, and Free XP, as well as -3% to your detectability range, and +4% to the maximum dispersion of shells fired by the enemy at your ship, this camouflage will not only make you look good in battle but will help you out too! " Copied this from the shop... Maybe they economized on the German translation - Those Swiss, they would go to any lengths to save a Franc...

    RN Destroyers

Ohmy. What a horrible thing to say... I favor a more balanced approach. It would be better to release something else for a change so that those of us, who are not fixated on BB's get something interesting to play with also. So 1 BB line per year is quite enough, save the next one for later...

Can someone please explain this to me for my peace of mind

All I could come up with is: "They are screwing with your mind, Bwahahahaha! " Ssooo yeah, let's just go with what he (Nechrom) said instead...

    RN Destroyers

Though, as mainly IJN player I am rather unlikely to get many RN DD's, I will definitely try them out and I would like to see them in the game too. They have adequate variety of types to fill at least 2 trees for sure... Perhaps they will have a kinda Semi-Hybridish-Torp-Boatish line (SHTB) and a gunboat or destroyer flotilla leader line then? On the other hand, I would also like to see a second US DD line too, USN definitely had the numbers to justify that though I have no idea how that would be accomplished so that they would actually be slightly different from the existing ones and not just clones. Maybe Escort DD's or some such (good stealth, relatively weak, but guns with hydro)?

    Personal rating [Question]

Naaah, that's allright P2Win just let us less skilled take care of those pesky lower tiers for the meantime. You can stay enjoy the high tier games for now. So that'll give us more average players a chance to reach for our superman delusions somewhere... Hehehe!

    Personal rating [Question]

Weel, I suppose it has something to do with the average HP pool (hence damage potential) in different tiers. It would be pretty difficult to do 200k damage at lower tier battles (unless you sank the entire enemy team just by your lonesome or something). So I guess the limits are set in terms of % of the total HP average per tier. AND of course, since you are already a skilled player, it tends to be easier for you to do relatively more damage in lower tier games.

    Nemesis Ships

Definitely Nurnberg... It is a good ship yes and I have had some really good games in her BUT it is always a dread waiting what will happen during the match and it can be insta-killed by nearly anything with a gun or a sharp stick from any angle and distance regardless of how much you try to WASD. One day, I swear I will learn how to do this... I lay awake at nights just worrying about it...
  12. Ahhh, oh yikes! ... There's always a snag. I don't have that one. But i do have new pack of crayons, mayhap I'll just color my own then...
  13. Now then now then, then now - Now then... What's all this then? A Crimson container?Where do you get those (yeah, I'm poorly informed).

    French battleships talk

Close, but remember the utter mayhem when RN BB's were released? I don't wanna have that repeated again so soon after it AND also I do like more variety, so -> Release a BB line -> Release a DD line -> Release a Cruiser line -> Then Repeat would be the ideal sequence to keep things interesting as far as I am concerned. Therefore having just recently released a BB line I was simply hoping for something more interesting for a change (yeah, totally ignoring the Pan-Asian DD line here - Still a skeptic). Now, I might not actually get all or any of those new ships anyway, but I do like the option of being able to do so, if ever I get the fancy and since I am not hugely interested in BB play at this point I would obviously prefer to see more DD's and Cruisers. Besides, seeing (sheepspotting guys) more variety of ships in the game even if they are in the opposing team is always interesting. I will probably get Algerie for my tier 7 non-IJN ship soon... Well, as soon as I have trained my other 2 French captains up to 15 points first.

You are indeed correct Sir and it is likely I never will either. You see I am playing this game almost solely because I am an IJN fan. So I am really not too Interested in playing USN, Russians or RN for that matter. I have a few German and French ships that I found interesting to compliment my selection (will likely get some Italians too later on) and I might be forced to get an Iowa and Des Moines eventually. Since I want to have a minimum of 1 ship of each type in each tier (exempt tier 1) available for division play. I also try to avoid complete fantasy or sk."paper ships", as much as possible, so Zao and Izumo are out of the question for tier 9 BB and tier 10 Cruiser (and since I already have the Cook for a captain anyway). However, that said, Baltimore is also an interesting ship so I might be tempted on that one some day and maybe, if RN gets a few Heavy Cruisers or something else I might find interesting to put the Dunkirk feller in. This may well be delayed a bit though, since now that I've got most of the ships that I want, I am also obliged see to it that I do not suck and therefore I must actually learn to play them properly, so as not to bring shame to the most Honorable Imperial Navy. AND since I have to do all that in true Samurai fashion without reading any d*mn wimpy instructions or manuals - THAT, my friend, may indeed take quite a while.

OH NOES! More BB's? I keep hoping for more DD or Cruiser lines. Perhaps French DD's, Italian DD / Cruisers or the much rumored US Light Cruiser line. OR an IJN light Cruiser line OR RN heavy Cruisers / DD's, anything for a change really, but no more BB's for the time being... Yeah, I know - The Pan-Asian DD's but due to gimmicky-related suspicions (radar / DW torps mainly), not really looking forward to them at this point. Just a nice, solid non-gimmicky Cruiser or DD line would be fine.

Yeah, but buying 5 Perths? Maybe if I could install them into my hoard of ARP Kongos, then perhaps it could be tempting but...

You too? No worries, I have 5 and going for the 6th soon I suspect. Just to complete my collection of awesomely useful "Super"-stuff, you know.
  22. Hmm perhaps, though in my opinion the "Bloom" should in BB's be made the same length of time than their actual reload (so longer than 20 sec).

Well The_Tyke, it is for gameplay and balance reasons, of course. The radar we have in this game is kinda "Super-Duper-Magical-X-Ray-Radar" or SDMXRR, which is able to see through islands and actually extends you visual spotting range beyond what it would normally be. So that is why it can only be used for short periods and has a long cooldown in between uses. Of course the actual radar in those days worked quite differently (and also still today). Firstly, it was indeed installed in most late-war ships already including DD's of most participating nations (incl Japan) and its could also be kept on continuously, all the time and not only in short bursts. Secondly, the ship spotting range during daytime and in good weather (like we tend to play in) for radar was pretty much the same that the distance they could be spotted by just eyeballing, the difference being that radar could tell you the exact distance to the target better than optical targeting this improved firing accuracy. Contrary to this game, Radar could not (and still cannot, due to something called "curvature of the earth") spot ALL ships in its range simultaneously... Sadly, this is not at all true, radar (even today) tends to spot bigger objects first and smaller ones from shorter distances away. For example, it would spot a BB from about 15 miles off and a submarine from 5 miles off (standard American WW2 radar, hence using miles), which is about the same distance one could see them in daytime anyways. Radar, of course even today cannot see through solid obstacles like islands (well, there is a newfangled thing called "ground penetrating radar" tho) and even targets in close vicinity of a large solid obstacle like that could be indistinguishable to radar (so you could be hiding right in front of an island, as well as close behind it). Aircraft can naturally be spotted from further away than surface ships, since they tend to fly much higher up (hence the tactic called flying "under the radar" was developed to avoid detection). Radar of the period was obviously at its most useful during poor visibility conditions such as poor visibility or during night fighting actions, but of course, since we do not have night battles and most games take place in good weather it would be pretty useless most of the time, if used as it really was. Also, things such as rough weather, heavy rain squalls, snow or hail could disrupt radar quite severely. Schanhorst nearly escaped its British pursuers due to heavy snowfall, which temporarily masked her and allowed her to disengage and disappear. She was soon after spotted again and sunk tho, so the relief was only momentary. Of course, by tweaking how the radar works (temporarily increased accuracy for user, add blind zones for DD to hide in), we might actually be able to make the game that much more interesting. And how to see behind islands then? Well, we already have something called the "Spotting Aircraft" in the game, let them do the job...
