I have the same opinion, from the tactical standpoint radar as it is now is very wrong (at first I thought physics of another universe, but this game has many questionable physics mechanics) and right now high tier gameplay in destroyers is pure pain in the butt. Hydro is great mechanic and I was very happy when they introduced it (from both sides as a cruisers driver and destroyer driver) but radar with it's absurd range must have something to stop it e.g. islands! Right now playing stock fletcher is nearly impossible as nearly every cruiser I meet can just push a button and two-salvo me off the face of the ocean. Somebody said that it is good thing to counter the torpedo terror, yeah sure speaking of terror when their radar has same range as my torpedoes lol.
