I have Sims (with Benson captain), Scharnhorst and Fiji, with 2 captains having RL so I gonna try with them. Maybe I will give a try with Atlanta. But I don't think I will insist much during this season ... Between RL, Epicenter mode and a meta full of hardly balanced premiums, I doubt I will have fun playing in RB ... -

People changed their mind on RPF ?? Seriously not, they just complain less because now it's in game so they can't prevent it from arriving anymore. But it is still just a plain stupid skill, I had a game yesterday in Fiji where I could easily hunt and destroy the enemy Kagero who only made smart moves. -
0 damage pens; how some happen

The penetration ribbons are extremely inaccurate. Sometimes, it tells you that you have a satandard penetration but zero damage, or it can tell you you have scored an overpenetration for 5k damage. Just don't trust them, and only look at the damage done. -

Je ne suis pas sûr que Jack-of-All-Trade soit si génial que cela (ce sera peut-être le cas en 0.6.1 si les cooldown des conso premiums sont augmentés).TAE me paraît aussi pas forcément utile puisque les DD allemands ont un reload de torpilles assez court (au prix d'un alpha pas génial). Ensuite, tout dépend si tu laisses ce commandant sur le Gaede ou si tu comptes continuer sur la branche. Si c'est plutôt le second cas, je pense qu'AFT est indispensable pour augmenter la portée. -
RL is a big mistake from WG. I played a game with my Yugumo, on Tears of the Desert in Domination mode. I have RL, enemy DDs had it too. We spent the game around C, with half our teams behind us, playing some kind of Hide & Seek game, between RL indicators, radars, smokes and so on ... The game last 6 or 8 minutes before a first kill was scored. I never saw so much passive gameplay as you have now in 0.6.0 ... When both team have RL, game is much passive, if only one team has it, it has some kind of unfair advantage. Please WG remove this skill !!

This skill is so broken. It gives so much informations on the enemy position. I tested it in Yugumo and Benson, and with it yo uca dare some moves because you know there won't be anybody on a specific cp, or give your teammates where to aim their guns or send their planes

I ended the last mission of Santa's Convoy. So that's : - a T6 premium that is quite enjoyable to play - 13.2 million credits + 3 camos on the T6 I already had and kept - a new camo for my Tirptiz - plus all the rewards from tasks and the credits & XP won playing the game. I earned enough to buy North Carolina, Gaede and Zao and still have a few million. Now let's just hope that WG wil not break the game with 0.6.0 ...- 168 replies

Dunkerque: a good buy or not?

Dunkerque is a very fun ship !! Guns are good, AP are excellent against cruisers and BB that are broadside, and HE can do huge damage and lots of fires on bow-tanking BB and DDs. Speed is good and it turns well. Nevertheless, it has some severe drawbacks : flanks have paper thin armor and AAA is really meh until you get MCAA. When you are top tier, you can easily bow-tank versus any BB except Warspite and Bayern, Rest of the time, you must play like a cruiser (but with lots of HP + heal). This is one of my favorite ships !! I played it in random and in T6 RB and never regretted buying it !! -
I will not stop playing the gaame even if I think RPF is a disaster for the game. I will use this skill on all the appropriate ships (all my DD and several cruisers too) because having RPF is the only way to defend yourself against enemies qwith RPF and also to show WG that this skill is toxic ffor the game. And considering al lthis, I'm going to think twice before putting money in the game from now on ...

I did a few matches with AGS and I must say it's an okay ship !! Guns are really good, torp angles are nice but the speed is slow and the armor is not so great. DCA is meh but you have defensive fire. So the only problem is when you are in a T8 match against a lot of BBs.

Problem is that french DDs are Contre-torpilleurs, aka DD hunters, with hard hitting guns and great speed, and that niche has been stolen by russian DDs. So unless WG uses the russian DD split to change their role, I hardly see them putting into play a branch with a gameplay that is already in game. On the other hand, french BBs are easy to implement as their specific gameplay is quite obivous : all guns front-facing !!

I have a question : Why is it so important to help cruisers (and gunboats) to hunt DDs ?? At this time, DDs have the weakest average damage of all 4 classes, and torpedo boats are the weakest of DDs. Moreover, DDs already have to avoid radars, planes, sonars to remain unspotted, and if their torpedoes are spotted, they'll do no damage ... And as some said, the problem is not to hunt DDs, it's to survive when you attack them because they usually have a team to support them. About competitive play, WG was complaining that TB turned into passive games where all the team sit in DD's smoke and shoot at spotted targets. Having played some competitive games in WoT, I know that one major thing of this format is to be where the enemy doesn't expect you. With RPF, how can you do such a thing ?? So more camp in smoke and shoot spotted enemies ?? By the way, did WG think about the impact of RPF on torpedo boats gameplay ?? If a torpedo boat wants to be effective while this skill exists, it basically have to never be the closest ship to the enemy. So this will push torpedo boats to shoot torps from 2nd line, with a great risk of hitting allies ...

Le but n'est pas tant de nerfer les conso premiums que de réduire l'écart entre standard et premium, car il devient à un moment trop avantageux d'utiliser les premiums. Et vu que les prix sont aussi fortement revus à la baisse, on peut difficilement parler de nerf.

Oui c'est exactement cela. En effet, essayer d'abuser du MM en platoonant avec un CV de plus petit tier ne fonctionne que tant que tu es le seul platoon à le faire.

Yeah. I love how he consider Smoke Expert essential in competitive format to hide your teammates but never consider the impact on RPF on this kind of battles ... -
Bon je ne vais pas en rajouter sur RPF, mais je voudrais parler des autres problèmes du nouvel arbre : - le rang 1 est catastrophique !!! On a 3 skills pour les CV, et pour les autres, ben il n'y a souvent qu'un seul choix valable. Franchement pour un DD, qu'y a-t-il à prendre à part Preventive Maintenance ? Ce nouvel arbre n'est pas supposé proposer plus de choix ?? Il faut plus de compétences intéressantes à bas tier. - en parlant des CV, à quoi sert donc DogFighting Expert ? les CV ont un MM miroir et en T8+, il ne peut y en avoir d'un par équipe. Ce skill n'a qu'un seul intérêt : permettre aux CV de lutter à armes à peu près égales contre le Saipan dont les avions sont complètement pétés pour leur tier. Du coup, ne vaudrait-il mieux pas virer ce skill et mettre le Saipan au niveau des autres CV T7 (quitte à proposer un remboursement à ceux qui l'ont s'il ne leur plaît plus) ?? - Tjr sur les CV, avec le nouvel arbre, un commandant niveau max peut prendre tous les skills spécifiques aux CV. Là encore, cela ne va pas à l'encontre du principe de plusieurs builds possibles ? - Fiery Takeoff me pose problème. Un des principes du combat contre un CV, c'est qu'il peut vous mettre la misère sans qu'on puisse riposter mais à partir du moment où on peut le faire, on le met en feu et il n'a plus les moyens de se défendre. C'est le principe du canon de verre : très puissant, mais aussi avec une grande faiblesse. Cette compétence m'embête donc un peu parce qu'avec, le CV peut toujours se défendre si on lui tombe dessus, l'inconvénient n'étant pas si important que cela. - Torpedo Armement Expertise est trop cher pour ce qu'il fait au rang 3 pour un DD (ou un croiseur), Soit vous le laissez rang 2, soit vous augmentez les effets s'il reste rang 3 - avec BFT au rang 3, peu de DD vont pouvoir se permettre de le prendre, hors cela signifie 10% de DPM canon en moins, sur une classe qui est déjà loin derrière en terme de dégâts moyens. Ca ne vous pose pas de problème WG ?? Sinon, j'aime bien High Alert en T2, ça me semble correct pour ce qu'elle fait.

J'ai mis Non pour le boycott, parce que même s'il est vrai que cette compétence me fera [edited]et ruinera une bonne partie de mon plaisir de jouer, le fait est que si elle arrive en jeu, ben le jeu est mort, donc il n'y aura rien à boycotter !!! Sérieusement, avec ce skill, WG crache dans la bouche de bcp de joueurs hardcore, de tous les gros clans et ruine toute possibilité de mode compétitif. Si cette population s'en va, je vois mal comment le jeu compte survivre, étant à la base un jeu de niche ...
