While I don't doubt that it would be an interesting thing to see, I wouldn't hold me breath. They already had the chance to do that with FR CAs and their historical sAP shells (almost the same bursting charge as HE shells), but instead went in favor of vanilla ammo. I think that after seeing the chaotic response to RN CLs and the continued misunderstanding about 203mm USN AP, RN BB HE compared to other BB HE, and even deepwater torpedoes, WG isn't interested in making specialty shells. They simply aren't able to communicate the bonuses ingame, and the average player's inability to comprehend basic core mechanics in no small part due to the woefully inadequate in and out of game explanations/guides, means that we're unlikely to ever get any new twists on existing ammunition. -

Is it the same problem as the Roma, where the HE shell is really just an SAP shell without any of the S or AP? -
That would be hilarious though. 12 IJN ships vs 1 Nimitz IE: When the Midway is tired of being bullied by IJN CVs and calls its big brother for help Rush to kill the CVN before F-14 Tomcats diddle your citadel with Harpoon missiles. Hell, give that to the Chinese market with some ridiculous monetization that quasi literally pumps money out of the players' pockets, and the sheer pleasure Chinese players will get from sinking gratuitous amounts of Japanese ships will probably allow WG to build a second headquarter in a tax haven

Which Tier 10 nation ship classes are YOUR picks?
Exocet6951 replied to Appadang's topic in General Discussion
Yamato, despite being the slowest, most visible and having an exposed citadel makes the cut simply thanks to reliable, none RNG based armor and reliable guns with trademark lolpen. I would have voted for the French, but apparently the Alsace is T9, not T10. Apparently Zao for epic guns, concealment, ambush torpedoes and trollish armor. This was the hardest choice, but ultimately the Zao's versatility is simply without equal, depite the Hindenburger trying to usurp the role using the cheesiest mechanics you can think of. Gearing because Gearing is really a solid choice, with good torpedoes, maneuverability, speed, firepower, concealment... Just a tiny bit worse than the Fletcher. Haku because WG hates USN CVs with a firey passion. -
I see no difference.

Can't wait for a collab with Shädman. Citadel penetration indeed (if you don't know who that is, don't Google it. It's NFSS, not safe for soul)

Atlanta No but seriously, a lot of low tier cruisers are just garbage. They were pretty meh back in the day, and are now just completely powercrept trash.

Rigged Unbalanced crap to Play no Fun, ripped off obvious lumpy ungraceful Game

OP plays the Izumo, loses, gets mad. A story as old as the closed beta! -
It's getting damn ridiculous though, there can be almost half of a ship length's difference. And it doesn't explain the downright wrong results you get when shooting at people. So my question is very valid, is it just server shenanigans, or is the armor model borked (again)? Or very probably, both ?
-
And now explain to the class how hits visibly in front of a ship, not even hitting the ship itself, can cause citpens. Or how basic damage rules just fly out of the window at times. How some shells blatantly phase through ships harmlessly. How armor that simply cannot, mechanically, be overpen'd nor simply cannot be not regular pen'd give out overpens only. Please, explain which correct part of which correct ship do I need to shoot at to stop doing 1.9k damage on a single regular penetration to full hp, broadside all or nothing BB using guns that do 12k damage, something that shouldn't even be possible with a double overpen, since i would end up doing more damage. This isn't about idiotically shooting autobounce turtleback and wondering why it's not working, it's about shooting at things that should have predictable results, and getting result that are from a core base mechanic point of view simply nonsensical.

WD40 the turrets and the torpedo propeller shaft to get an extra 3-5 knots out of the torpedoes, and there, Blyska fixed.

ST Midway huge hangar capacity nerf criticised
Exocet6951 replied to IBloomJustForYou's topic in General Discussion
FTFY. As evidenced by everyone saying how moronic and overpowered triple DBs with tiny circular auto drop pattern AP bombs on previous GZ tests were, right? Or everyone stating how ridiculously OP the Saipan is, and how the Kaga can be when tiered properly? How about instead of having a hate boner for anything with a plane, you stop and read/think about opinions other than your own? You might notice quite a few pro-CV folk agreeing that some CVs are way too powerful, and the current system/plans does nothing but help foster a massive rift between player skill and ship builds which leads to unfair and simply unfun matches. -
Fantastic and very worthwhile contribution, thank you.

Appreciation thread for Space Battles
Exocet6951 replied to KarmaQU_EU's topic in General Discussion
Additionally, it's allowing them to try out new mechanics like local weather and gather more data on how the average player might use specific T10 ships, something accentuated by the fact that the space ships come with equipment to match common builds. You can't tell me that the République being one of the ships is a coincidence. It's a smart way to gather data on a wild card ship, one not popular enough to get reliable data points. This sort of thing, along with special events/operations like Dunkirk are invaluable. -
Do you know the best part of owning a Cesare? It's not the obscene concealment, powerful guns, nimble ship with good armor combo, it's that ability to train Russian captains on it, on accounts of it being a Russian ship, clearly.

Wasteful... I mean, look at all the empty space, there's still some room in there for a turret or two ! -
Why are so many rude? Instead of having fun
Exocet6951 replied to darkstar73's topic in General Discussion
Well it depends really. If a perfectly average, indistinguishable person does something stupid and blames a perfectly average team doing perfectly normal things, but that's not doing what he specifically wants, then it's just rude and unnecessary. If a perfectly average person is clearly trying his best and the rest of the team is (and I'm being generous here) content with 10% of their best, with the majority of said percentage used to try and fail to find their "W" key, fails to comprehend the use of the funny colored square with green and red dots at the bottom right of the screen, is blatantly deathly allergic to cap zones, and plenty of other nice things, then yes, it's completely understandable to be rude. If you're having a hard time understanding why that's the case, look at it from an IRL perpective: If you're playing football with a group of strangers, you want to win. That's the agreed upon rules of the game: try to score, try to win. You don't join a match for the express purpose of losing, that's just called throwing the match and it's very poor sportsmanhip. So if half of your team sits down and starts playing cards, trying to pick the ball up with their hands, or are just sitting all the way behind next to their own goal posts, content with kicking the ball as hard as they can to the other side of the field to try to score that way, of course the people actually playing the game are going to get mad.- 94 replies

Battleships - Unsuited to current Operations/Scenarios?
Exocet6951 replied to IanH755's topic in General Discussion
When the operation has no built in repair spot, BBs are invaluable. Cruisers simply can't cope with the amount of HE thrown at them for very long, so unless there's someone tanking, like a BB for another poor sod in a cruiser, you're losing very precious ressources each time you're hit. As soon as there's a repair spot though, it all comes down to personnal skill and taste. The BB might have an easier time surviving, but the basic "get hit, permanently lose HP from a very limited HP pool" principle cruisers and DDs have to deal with just goes away. -
Yeah, it's completely...retarded

Still more fearsome looking than a T-22 I'm still convinced that "T" stands for "trawler"
