Poll: Map Proposal "Dynamic Iceberg Map"
Exocet6951 replied to MrWastee's topic in General Discussion
"DD wtf, why did you ram full speed into that iceberg?" "I saw two sailors trying to recreate the Titanic scene on the bow, so I fast forwarded their experience to the good bit" 10/10 feature, would mess around with. -
pls buff Yamato still has a citadel above the waterline. Clearly powercrept. Lolpen and top kek HE proof mid deck is fine and balanced though, keep that in. /s

I think an interesting exercice is to look at other nations of that era. Skipping over the Graf Spee and Dunkerque because they're just weird example of interwar one-upmanship, you have the Italians designing very large cruisers with large (potentially) 250mm guns, the Russians building on that principle with similarly large cruisers with 220-305mm guns, the Japanese and Germans suggesting large cruiser designs based on rather large caliber guns.... It's not just a US madness, it's a legitimate school of thought that proliferated throughout the world for some odd 20 years between the mid 30's and the mid 50's And while I consider myself generally competent, I don't consider myself superior in naval engineering intellect to numerous independent nations' naval architects and engineers in such a way that I can dismiss their work as flawed at the very core. It's indeed a type of design that went the way of battlecruisers: a needless design in hindsight, but one that made a lot of sense when they were built. It still doesn't mean that I think an Alaska as a T10 cruiser is a good idea, but I won't kick that hornet's nest again

Can I volunteer to hand out bans to players who voluntarily throw themselves at the enemy while they're capping, insuring a lose? Or the 2 DDs who quit a match after being on the cap zone, assuming they would win, almost making their team lose in the process? I can guarantee you that those things alone had more negative impact on the game than the handful of people who called them out for it.

And to think they were live testing radars on them as well... shudders

Feedback FOR WG about quality of gameplay...
Exocet6951 replied to Boris_MNE's topic in General Discussion
And how do you know who is new and uninformed? I don't really care if someone plays poorly, but at least tries to play. DD going on a cap zone but gets murdered? Well he tried. BB close to the action repairing the first fire and getting whittled down? He still has much to learn but it's ok. Cruiser going full potato to 5 BBs? Ugh, fine, maybe he'll learn. DD going map border sightseeing, spamming 10km torpedoes on targets 20km away despite having a T8 ship? Nope. BB sniping with spotter plane from 26km, never being so much in actual range of a cap zone? Nope. If you're blatantly not even trying to actually play the game, I'm telling you to play the game. If you still don't respond, I'm telling you to stop being a moron, because even my 6 and 7 year old nephews understood the principle of the game, so you should be able to as well. It's that damn simple. If you've been playing football for very VERY literally thousands of matches and still don't understand that you're not allowed to pick up the ball with your hands, nor German suplex other players, then you're ruining MY game, along with 21 other players. Why are players who are clearly not bothering to learn the very basics over thousands of battles, such as the fact that torpedoes that go 4km WON'T hit a target 20km away being more protected from being called morons than the other players in the match? Why are words being punished more than blatant sabotage?- 57 replies

Feedback FOR WG about quality of gameplay...
Exocet6951 replied to Boris_MNE's topic in General Discussion
The next time you're playing football, I'll be in your team, sitting down and playing cards, doing karate kicks to anyone getting close. Anyone telling me to stop being an [edited]will automatically be reported as unsportmanship-like bullying, because apparently guaranteeing that the game be played with evveryone being nice to one another is more important than having a match where people don't actively sabotage the match.- 57 replies

Perhaps it's not a one sided as you make it out to be? Perhaps people just don't want help any more? Any attempt to calmy give people sage advice on my part wa met with either silence or "stfu noob don't tell me how to play" So please don't make it out to be as if it were one side of mean toxic people, and another side of victims, because believe me when I say that it's vastly more toxic to a game to play like garbage, never desire to learn, and tell others trying to teach you that you don't need any help. More so than any rant in a match by incalculable magnitudes. I don't mind people not playing very well, but I sure as hell mind people aggressively defending their rights to keep playing like crap. Because yes, even the ****ing Dalai Lama would get pissed if he were playing thousands of football matches with random strangers, and there were everytime people sitting down to play cards during the match. Am I not entitled to a fair and decent match, the same way they are entitled to a toxic-free match? Then why is it there have been actual advances in reporting toxic chat, and apparently more plans to combat it, and yet still NO plans to have decent tutorials and actual WG made/sponsored guides since 2015 ? It'ss running on 3 years of existence since release, and still nothing. But god knows little TImmy in his new Tirpitz needs a clean chat, or else he'll get upset and leave the game.

Nice to know that more work is being put into preventing people berating terrible players being harmful to the game itself, rather than actually preventing the creation of more and more terrible players harmful to the game itself. Because certainly that one guy venting a few insults is much more harmful to the game than a pair of top tier Bismarcks sabotaging the game by trying to find out if you can leave the map. /s

Well there's a difference between going up to someone at 2km and getting closer to 10-12 km The only ships that will actively attempt rams at that distance are herp derp Richelieus who are incapable of doing anything other than long range reverse he spam bow camping, and ramming when in danger.

Let's totally forget space ships, FR BBs an USN split. Sounds like your idea of good content is anything British, with everything else being there to please the plebs

The Battleship Plague 2 - Broken by Design

So BBs should now do literally 0 damage to DDs, and DDs should be insta-gibbed by cruisers? Jesus, if you want to play RPS, play RPS.- 103 replies

Congratulations, you've just turned BBs into machines that are basically invulnerable to CAs and gunboat DDs. This is good for the game how? This is a prime example of min-max bull**** that is ruining the game.- 103 replies

If all BBs turned into German style bull**** "OM NOM NOM HE SHELLS LOL" damage tanks, I would leave the game instantly. So to turn them into even bigger tanks? Nope. Non. Niet. Nej.- 103 replies

The Battleship Plague 2 - Broken by Design
Exocet6951 replied to dasCKD's topic in General Discussion
Part of the problem is the extreme min-max nature of dealing damage with shells, combined with the hyper inflation of alpha damage. Aim poorly, or have bad luck? You deal poor damage and you don't see BBs as being problematic. Aim well and survive long enough to mitigate the bad luck rolls, and you just super murder anything that isn't out of your range. Then you tack on increasing survivablity, more and more concealment, min-max AA values where you go from having pratically no AA to being AA doom bastions from one ship to another, sometimes within the same damn branch (Bretagne having the AA of a T6 ship, and Normandie of a T4, wut?), and basically everything else, you realize that there isn't a single thing wrong with BBs. No. It's everything that's wrong. And not with just BBs, but as a whole. Every mechanic has turned into a tangled, min-max Gordian knot of a situation where you can't touch a single thing without ****ing over one class harder than the intended receiving class of said change. Perfect example: IFHE. I loathe that skill. At mid tiers, CLs are simply superior to CAs when dealing with anything that isn't an unangled target at just the right range for 203mm guns to citpen, but not 152mm. I've seen quite a few BBs prefering to fire at my Atlanta unspotted behind an island rather than a very spotted CA closer to them. So just like the Gordian knot, there is no way to disentangle it. WG just needs to grab that proverbial sword and cut the bad boy in half in order to be the master of Asia complete rebalance the game from the ground up. Anything else is just building on a half finished Jenga game-type fondation. But since it's taken them years to even get started on a CV rework (#2016YearOfTheCV), I'm not holding my breath. After all, it's WG, and we all know who their patch sponsors are...- 103 replies

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

I saw @Teob_VG trying to club with a YueYang, which would have gave him the victory if not for several balancedtm Russian radars. -

I couldn't claim it as it told me to get twitch prime. Going by Amazon directly made me pay, but if I went via twitch, it allowed to to link my WG account a second time and get another trial -
Knowing full well I'm going to repeat myself.... 1956 De Grasse with 8x2 127mm/54

They've been in the middle of it since 2016, original year of the CV so I wouldn't hold my breath

So what if there's already one? The crushing majority of operations are against IJN ships in the Pacific with a few random KM ships dropped in the middle of it for odd reasons, and this is just suggestions and brainstorming for new operations. There's no real order or priority to the ideas.
-
They should make one revolving around a hypothetical Operation Sea Lion (invasion of the British Isles by the Germans). Not only could you reuse some elements like motor torpedo boats, transport ships, AI planes and plenty of ships, but you can also tack on a plethora of specific ships that could have been there had political events occured differently, like some expeditionary USN forces like a T7 New Orleans, a few FFL ships like the Algérie or Dunkerque, the Blyska, obviously all available RN ships at the operation's tier, and maybe even one day some Dutch ships.
