Because I got the Amagi later on, and I play the Tirpitz extremely aggressively. I can be the first to die in the Tirpitz while pushing DDs out of the first cap and still deal 80% of the total damage I deal with the much more "survival and damage" oriented Amagi. Still no answer as to why German BBs needed ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE more forgiving AP shells AND HE shells. So yes, my point still stands, German BBs have WAY too many advantages for no real drawbacks. Seriously, show me one point in which they're worse. You'll tell me torpedoes, to which I answer immediately that not only do they have hydro, but can bleed so much speed in a turn that they can mitigate a LOT of damage just by dodging. You'll tell me AA, to which I answer that manual AA from tier5 on makes them a massive threat second only to tier8+ USN BBs, with only the G.Currywurst being weak(ish) Every "weakness" is mitigated or simply annulled by good captain specc'ing and knowledge of one's ship. But if you want to play the stats card, why is it that your German BBs absolutely DOMINATE the others sometimes by as much as 6% WR and 30k damage compared to the runner-up And I'm glossing over the Bismarck as the stats may be tainted by ranked battles I'm sure you'll find a clever excuse to explain why your Gneisenau has 5% WR more and 28k damage on average more than you Colorado, considering that your stats with the latter are already way above server average.

A bit hard to take you seriously when you say that, when both USN and IJN at tier 7 have half and half firepower, so can't "bring 2/3 of their guns to bear in", at tier8 the Amagi has most of its guns at the back with only the NC being able to do what you just said, at tier9 Germans get both the 406 and 420mm rather than the (pretty damn good 380mm with balancedtm low fuze times), and back at tier10 we find that only the Yamato can go bow on and show 2/3rd its guns. So much for weak German firepower at tier7+ I would have LOVED to see a fantasy ship with the same stats as the Bismarck be introduced in game, especially as a Russian ship, to see the immense backlash at it. The Russian bias accusations would have lit the forums on fire and burnt down their hosting servers, with detailed descriptions as to why it's racist, biased, completely unbalanced and dominating ranked battles.

No, I'm referring to basically all of them. And firepower is not weaker since Germans also get balancedtm low fuse times AP that overpens less. But hey, it's not as if most ships of that line had a 1-2.5% WR advantage over the server average or anything. I'm not saying that everything that kills me is OP, but fast armored ships that take much less damage, have better AP, have hydro after a while, have great secondaries, and good AA, have better HE, and whose only real weakness (torpedoes) keeps getting nerfed one way or another may be a little too re**** proof

I would if the same potatoes who play Ger BBs played the other BBs. Seriously, that moron-proof armor makes them think they can just go full broadside. I almost always see other BBs angle in and out between salvoes, while I see potatoes in Konigs and Gneisenaus sailing straight ahead without a care in the world. Doing 5-10k damage less per salvo on targets like that isn't "doing huge damage", especially not when a decent part of that damage is repairable. So while I'm not shooting double citpens with every salvo on a non-Ger BB, but damage is WAY more consistent, especially since a lot of the damage done on German BBs are just overpens.

I love it when people say that. "They take huge damage from normal pen ! 15-20k on a well aimed salvo!" The same salvo which on a non herp derp ship which would have done a double citpen for 20-30k damage.

Do you mean to imply that a line of ships that go from fast-ish dreadnoughts with the best RoF, best usuable AA from tier4-6, decent guns and the best maneuverability, to fast, basically impossible to citadel BBs with guns that tend to overpen less thanks to lower fuse time, hydro, epic secondaries and very good AA, in addition to armored decks making them extremely resistant to 152mm HE, and who bleed enough speed during maneuvers to make dodging torpedoes a breeze are not perfectly balanced? I mean, it's not as if those ships had a constant 2-4% WR lead over the server average or anything. Bestest balance!

First point has everything to do with balance. There's almost never any CVs There's often not many DDs at lower tier, but their number soars at higher tier The amount of cruisers is in freefall There's almost always the max amount of BBs allowed per match Care to take a guess why? Popularity in an online game has everything to do with the power and ease-of-play. Something that's dominating the MM queue CONSTANTLY is probably very dubiously balanced. And the famed "RN CLs will make people grind cruisers instead of the previously newer German BBs" excuse failed so hard to come true that it's just become funny. Oh but some BBs don't have that good AA? They have better AA than all their tier equivalent CAs, with the exception of the DM and Minotaur. And since CVs aren't exactly roaming the plains in abundance, the amount of cruisers running defensive AA is limited to those who don't know how to change it and the people who are optimist to a fault. With speed, I'm concerned about the upcoming 33knot gunboat DDs too, but I'm still concerned about this like Iowas and G.Currywursts being almost as fast as cruisers, and being able to outrun a number of them if they put the speed flag. Because that's extremely concerning. And whereas before it was a select about of fast BBs with meh armor and the odd battlecruiser design being able to reach or go above 30 knots, now there's an entire line of them past tier6 that can.

Battleships are NOT balanced, because they tend to outnumber cruisers past tier6. They have AA that makes CV players favor targeting DDs and even in some cases CAs, and get more and more ways to be safer from their counters while the latter keep getting nerfed left and right. And now there's an entire line of them that infringe a lot on CA territory by being able to go over 30 knots, reliably engage DDs with both deadly secondaries and AP shells less prone to overpens, and who shrug off 152mm and lower HE.

You heard wrong, it's a fantastic ship, just not for everyone. It has potent guns and their layout allows you to always show a very narrow profile to the enemy. It's fast enough to be where it needs to be, and has enough armor, speed and agility, secondaries, firepower, hp and AA (with a 10pt captain or more) to be rather independent. If you're looking for a fast tier6 ship to play in a division in which you won't get killed in the first 5 minutes, even if you try really hard, you might want to give it some more thought.

Very true. They swayed me against buing the Dunkek for weeks. Only when I saw my bank statement a few weeks ago and saw that I had a comfortable surplus did I impulse buy it. Don't regret it one bit. I wish very average skilled players were more prominent as community contributors to display what ships can do in normal circumstances, and not always in optimal "10/10 aiming, positioning and torpedobeats" conditions.

That does sound odd... But in some cases, if the German BB HE shell that "pens" 1/4th of its caliber (because more balance for Germans) hits a cruiser's deck and a part of the citadel sitting high above the waterline in reach of the explosion radius, and the citadel's roof armor is 20mm or less, it could be possible. That's what happens on a few paper thin (13mm at places) British citadels at low tier. Still, that's a fluke shot in a situation that already has very precise sets of conditions. And it isn't even a bow overmatch.

It's not that they didn't like it, but rather that it was disappointing. The guns were hyped up (wrongly) to be accurate death machines with uber penetration and reload speed. Instead they're not very accurate and reload at an average speed. That said, she's a great ship and doesn't need any buffs.

On the other hand, tier8s won't get uptiered to tierX all the time. There's only so many games as a stock Chapayev against 3 Gearings and 5 Yammies/G.Currywurst and 3 Zaos I can take before going mad.
