I was outlining the fact that almost 6 months in, German BBs aren't "new and attracting only the best players that free xp" anymore, as the classical excuse goes, and they still overperform by a good margin. Maybe not buffing accuracy isn't enough to keep them in line, and a nerf is in question.

And yet, still superior at almost every tier.

What is your Super Container Today!

Meanwhile, I got 3 SC, excluding the original ones, all three with flags. And not particularily good flags either. WG pls. -
Are people still going on about "RN cruisers weak" in general ? Go ahead, call the Fiji weak.

How can someone complain about the campaign? I mean, criticizing a mission I understand (Kill a carrier? Snowball's chance in hell in tiers other that 4 and 9-10, WG), but the campaign? It's free stuff, and some incentive to play more than one class [coughs audibly]

Why is the Scharnhorst considered good?
Exocet6951 replied to MilkPowder's topic in General Discussion
The better question is how she can better considered a bad ship, and why WG is listening to the people who say she is. What more do you need from a ship? -
Having paper cruisers on tier8 and 10 isn't really an issue. The only ones to not have paper are the USN and IJN with the Ibuki. I hope they'll include the lovely little T47 class DDs. One of them became a museum ship that's docked not 5km from where I'm sitting, the Maillé-Brézé. A 39 knot DD with 3x2 127mm, plus an impressive 3x2 57mm AA and 4x3 550mm torpedoes (two per side) Although the one here is a more modern refit with missiles and ASW rockets, so that wouldn't work ingame.

Wargaming: Is it too much to ask to get rid of the bots and AFK'ers?
Exocet6951 replied to G01ngToxicCommand0's topic in Archive
I wish it were more though. I'd rather have a bot than the average potato player, and an afk that sits firmly on base and prevents cap than a terrible player that does 10-20k average damage in tier6.- 11 replies

There are some ships that change armor layouts between hulls, Nagato and New Mexico come to mind, but that's pretty rare. Especially at higher tier USN, KM and VMF ships, which are relatively more modern builds whose hull upgrades are mostly just tacking on medium AA like bofors and changing the superstructure up a bit.

I'd love to have one of those, they sound quite fun. A certain someone in my life might disagree. Very vocally.

In my opinion, DE is the better choice. AFT just tempts you into using rainbow guns at over 12km, and very thoroughly ineffective. You have *just* enough range and concealment without any mods or captain skills to stealthfire a lone target.

I am a bit confused about the dd split. What to do
Exocet6951 replied to ThoronMonsteR's topic in Destroyers
The point of having both the Hatsu and Fubuki as of today is that when the patch hits, you'll have:-tier 6 torpedo line Fubuki -tier 6 gunboat line Hatsu -tier 7 torpedo line DD replacing the Hatsu -tier 8 torpedo line DD replacing the Fubuki Having a tier7 and a tier8 in your port today basically gives you two free tier 6 ships. A non-negligeable credit boost. -
The Blyska is amazing fun. It's basically a fatter Benson with slower turrets. And while you lose RoF, you more than make up for it by not having your shells take a detour to Alpha Centauri everytime you open fire above 10km of distance. That's a damn good resume, considering it has to be compared to one of the best ships of a superior tier, and a tier that sees a lot of radical changes towards end tier gameplay in most branches.

Tier 7 and 8 Cruisers are in a very bad spot. Something needs to be done!
Exocet6951 replied to Kazomir's topic in General Discussion
I got shot at from 20km by a Yamato this other day in my Chapayev. Saw it, turned enough to get away from the landing zone, 3 shells still hit my bow through a mixture of RNG and decent guesswork from the player, 3 citpens through my stern and instant death. Brain.exe crashed. I'd have gone crazy had I not just bought a Warspite a few minutes prior, and had a jolly good time doing the same to cruisers, and facerolling DDs with my secondaries. -
These people want realism, but don't realize that having realism on torpedoes would mean that aerial torpedoes would arm in 50m's worth of travel. Selective realism, not even once.

I don't think I saw any mention of the torpedo launcher angles. That's a shame, as they're spectacularily good. "Rush torwards a target while launching fish at it" good. Seriously, I didn't measure it, but from memory and guesstimates, both launchers can fire at 20-25 degrees in relation to the bow. That's extremely useful for shooting your loads at a BB who can't tell the difference between wiggling to dodge shells and turning enough to fire torpedoes.

Obviously a new gamemode idea for WoT. Fighting for some sweet, sweet discounted consumables.

Rest in peace Cruisers, may you be remembered.

Heh? Considering I have 80% WR with the Zao, you're talking out of your [edited]. And considering I had no captain to speak of with the Ibuki, and didn't rely on free XP, stealth shooting was out of the question. As for the Chapayev, I'm not going for a stealth build, I was the Moskva, on which CE is pointless. But please, show me how much better you are with mid tier cruisers and cruisers who can't just outrange most enemies, max range sniping their way to victory, hoping the common baddies on the enemy team keep wasting their shots on them. You can't even realize that just because you're good at something, something is just fine. For all of us mere mortals who actually enjoy the game, rather than just try-harding ever single game, BBs are either too numerous for their current strength, or too powerful for their current numbers. And this is confirmed to be a problem by PROFESSIONAL game developpers, who mentioned that this was already beginning to be a problem that needed to be looked at....before German BBs no less. So, what's left to say? You, a highly skilled player saying they're just fine and we all need to abandon the notion of fun in game and accept that cruisers are countered harder than reasonable, and play in the most dull and boring way ever, or a lot of average players saying that there's a problem, and the developpers of the game, people who spent YEARS coming up with the game and who have a much deeper insight into the game and what's going on in it saying that there's indeed an issue? Who to trust, who to trust.... -
If you want something foolproof, IJN cruisers are here for you. From tier3 to 4, then 5 to 9, you keep the same two guns. You never have to get used to completely different ballistics, only get used to progressively increasing range. No need to ask yourself too many questions about ammo choice, it's HE on everything except a full broadside cruiser at ranges of 8km or less. Experience may lead to a few exceptions, but in general that rules remains true. If you want something a bit more challenging, yet in many ways more flexible, German cruisers are here for you. But they test you first. Oh lord they test your patience and devotion to cruisers. Tier5 to 6 are notoriously fragile ships. They teach you that no amount of angling will save you against BBs. That those things don't just hard counter cruisers, they ****ing demolish them. Then you hit tier7 and you get well rounded ships with enough (troll) armor to allow you to close up on enemy ships, even BBs should the need arise, although that's always a gamble as your armor relies on ricochets and bouncing, and large caliber AP tends to not do that on armor plates thinner than 32mm. To be honest, your best best is Japanese. They're simply the most rounded ships in terms of armor, firepower, torpedoes and AA. The armor will always be the same, no surprises as to what penetrates you where and what doesn't. You'll always have those six to ten 203mm guns to rely on, those two to four 10km butt launching torpedoes, and a very average AA that will always act similarily. No surprises, no half of your AA concentrated in 2km ranged, it's all in the amount of 25mm mounts, with their rather excellent 3.1km range.

Something needs to be done about BBs.

That nerf was a joke. A general buff to turn radius and rudder shift, followed by a small nerf to rudder shift does not equal a nerf. -
And the "totally no cheats exist!" despite having a client-side aiming assist built in game, and a client-side side skin system. Totally no one clever enough to switch that aiming assist for other game modes, and no one patient enough to install bright pink skins on every tank while turning off foliage to get the upper hand in RB and SB. How people can defend that game is beyond me.
-
I know, right? And it's trying to tempt me back with PT boats and Japanese tanks, but then I remember all the matches I had with the worst hit detection of any game I've ever seen, and bouncing high caliber AP shells on the sheet metal around a tank's exhaust pipe and it all comes rushing back.
-
Maybe your issue is just that, your issue? If I can do damage to a broadside NC with 152mm AP (not the superstructure, the hull), you should be able to do the same with rather potent 14" guns.
-
No way to be sure, unless we take your word on it. And considering your word also includes: "Please ****-stomp an iconic ship class in order to pigeon hole it into tier7 where it'll still be the strongest ship, rather than buffing the one weakness it has in order to fit into tier8" , that seems hard to do. Also, New Mexico on tier 8 is rather fine once you manage to get into position. The guns never feel useless, and the only moment you truly wish you have a bigger 15-16 inch gun is when you want to overmatch bow (and keep in mind that overmatch doesn't mean autopen), or when you're at 7-8km with a nice juicy broadside in sight, and you know that a slightly bigger gun would deal an extra citpen or two. But please, do go on about how BBs with lower calibers can't work. It really makes Konig and Nassau players laugh a whole bunch.

The one thing I love the most on this thread are people who say that cruisers are just fine and dandy and everyone just needs to l2p are the ones spamming tier9+ cruisers or tier8 cruisers capable of stealth shooting (looking at you Chapayev) Yeah, really representative. Funny how those people who are normally very, very good players have much more average stats in mid tier cruisers. Hmm. Really makes you think.
