    GNEISENAU overpen issue

And yet, you have 26-30k average damage with stronk OP HE spam ships like the Cleveland and Myoko. Meanwhile, 57k in the Gneisenau. Yup, overpens are obviously making you MUCH less efficient with the Gneisenau than the Myoko. It's not as if you did twice the damage with the Gneisenau or anything.

WG INSULTS Royal Navy and UK - what is going on?

Indeed, so subtle that even I didn't catch on. This is why coffee exists, and why there's now a steaming cup at my side.

WG INSULTS Royal Navy and UK - what is going on?

Actually no, the Union Jack is slighty assymetrical. There is indeed a right way up, although any non-brit-looking-for-a-mistake probably won't ever notice.Which makes anyone not consciously aware of it at all times slip up half the time.

Removal of invisifire and premium ships

Quote for truth. Premium ships aren't individually nerfed, but can be affected (read: nerfed) by global changes. Hence the Atago having been nerfed to be even worse in the AA department when they butchered IJN 25mm guns.

    The Cruiser & I

They used to be better at long range. They kept the muzzle velocity, but must have cranked up the loss of speed over distance.

WG INSULTS Royal Navy and UK - what is going on?

This is just grasping at straws.
  7. Stopped right there because you're wrong. Tirpitz may have torpedoes, but it doesn't have an insane hydro and 7km base secondaries, but what it does have is 80 less AA DPS at 3.5km, and 54 less AA dps at 2km (without counting AFT, boosting the range). In short, you're defending the Bismarck in a Scharnhorst thread, which is ridiculous for two reasons. But if you absolutely must know, Gneisenau is hilariously overperforming too. Only slightly less so.

    The Cruiser & I

That's because they brutalized the shell's arc, citadel placement, quite possibly soft stats relating to maneuverability. Buff the RoF to 10, unnerf her shell arc, give her the split citadels under the waterline, and let her turn decently, put her bofors back rather than the rather sad 28mm, and you got yourself a good tier8 ship. It might not be good in the meta, but it would be a viable tier8. Maybe a small radar, but it wouldn't need smoke. Hell, with some more thought about it, it would actually be amazing since at tier8, most 380-406mm guns would just overpen the entire ship, and hitting the split citadel would just be a complete roll of the dice, as I'm sure you as a weekend tester must remember. It could just have more survivability than any CA or even CL with repair party just because of that.
  9. [looks at Scharnhorst's 55% WR and 56k average over the past two weeks, compared to the average 49.25% WR and 46k damage for Colorado and Nagato] Yup, Scharnhorst is struggling, and her massive WR and average damage is totally due to her testing phase which was roughly 6 months ago. 10/10 thread. Would buff underperforming superior German technology kruppstahl kriegsmarine.

Can we finally remove OP hydro from Bismarck?

The problem arises when a ship played by an average can perform as well as a another ship played by a good player. And while problematic ships have typically been premium ships that have gone off sale (Nikolai, Gremy, Kamikaze R,etc...), the Bismarck remains a regular ship backed by not only fame/infamy,but let's face it, a nationalistic fervor as well. Which is why the most played BB at tier8 currently has 53% WR, the most survival, damage, statistical accuracy, K/D, hot on the heels of the NC for most average plane kills, absolutely dominated season 5 of ranked, but people will keep defend it with blind fervor as if it were fine. For me, it's almost as ridiculous as the handful of people who defended the Nikolai as being balanced, and I remain convinced that had a carbon copy of the Bismarck, but with a different model and name, been introduced as a tier8 premium Russian BB prior to the German BB line, there would have been an absolute riot on the forums about Russian bias.

    The udaloi broke engine problem

To be honest I think the servers just give up and do things at complete random sometimes. A single 127mm HE hit to the bow of your Kiev? Rudder gone. WAT.

    The Cruiser & I

Everyone knows that the Cleveland isn't tier6 material, but tier8. It's been a major point of contention ever since the first days of CBT. All we can do is wait for a USN CL branch so the Cleveland finds itself un-nerfed back to how it was in its glory days .

Can we finally remove OP hydro from Bismarck?

Jesus christ how are you a functioning adult? "If you don't count the massive weight difference and the fact that it has a much less powerful engine, a Fiat Punto is just as fast as a Formula 1 car." You can't just remove integrals parts of something just to prove a point. If a ship is the way it is, you have to compare it in it's entirety to something else. That, or you compare each individual parts separately, but then you can't make a general comparison about the ships based on only that.
  14. I gave up on trying to finish this mission. I'm at 14 kills or so, and I honestly don't mind. Oh well, I'll miss out on one Myoko clone and possibly a medal for having all the ARP ships because of it. I still got a free (non-premium) Atago out of the deal, a couple of lovely Kongos which I enjoy abusing tier 5 players with playing, and I got to keep my sanity as I didn't delve into the madness of Russian kill frenzy. On the other hand, I did have to shelve my Chapayev because I was tired of getting focused by everyone. Maybe I'll actually finish grinding it without having yolo destroyers and CA/CLs bumrush me to get a kill, 5 BBs per match trying to get me as soon as I'm spotted. My glorious communist citadel was fondled enough from high caliber plunging shells through the stern, thank you very much.

    Hunt for the Graf Spee

It's a campaign where you collect pins. When you're in port, it's the menu on the top left, under the list of missions/events/challenges. You don't need a Graf Spree to play it, thankfully.

Are BB's the most fragile ships in WoWS!

And cruisers are the most resistant. Hence BB heroes telling cruisers to stop being cowards and invade contested caps. It's not as if 2-3 BBs in range will harm them or anything.
  17. Exocet6951

    Hunt for the Graf Spee

One thing that bothers me is that the campaign started on the 23rd, but the final mission of the first stage unlocks on the 28th. WAT. Why not just unlock everything on the 23rd?

    Torpedo delay

There are some oddities around torpedo tubes since IJN DDs. Hell, some of their launchers don't fire correctly, with the middle torpedoes leaving at an angle rather than going in a perfectly straight line.
  19. You didn't read into the context of my comment. I said that this was the reasoning from a marketing point of view, which is quite frankly the only point of view in which having BBs as strong as they are makes any form of sense. That this was a problem in the making back in CBT. Lo and behold, a 1.5 year old prophecy is coming to age. Making low tier BBs crap is exactly what marketing wants. Crappy low tiers means enticement to get to higher tier, which costs times. Time is money. They extract it with attractive premium ships, premium accounts, bundles to make the grinding shorter... In my opinion, of course making the game actually good and balanced is more important. Alas, some bean counter somewhere in Cyprus calculate that pandering to the lowest common denominator is the most profitable thing to do. Something which I've been saying is a thing since the second beta weekend, where there was a massive horde of Kongos absoutely crushing everything, with ridiculous AA At this point, I don't actually care about anything historical anymore, I just want a ship that can reliably kill BBs. I don't care if it's a submarine, missile cruiser, consumable to send in bombers with guided bombs.... I just want something that lets me be part of the action without having to max range snipe for 15 minutes before even thinking of moving up, hoping the enemy is absent-minded or has poor aim.

    Where did the fun go?

Oh a DD can beat a BB when it's at knife range? How shocking. Torpedoes hurt. The DD has to go through a hail of secondaries, lost a lot of hp when you shot at it, but the thing that shocks you the most is that your counter class at minimum range can kill you. Wow. They don't limit DDs to 2-3 because BBs actually need to be countered. And if you're on a team with DDs that don't counter the square root of **** (low tier Russian DDs/mid tier IJN DDs), the enemy BBs which are almost always five basically have free reign to do whatever the hell they want. If you want to play a game where you're absolutely not challenged in any way, and you can mow down hordes of enemy ships barely being in anger yourself, either play WoWS in PvE, or pick from a selection of single player naval games.
  21. Exocet6951

    Where did the fun go?

BB dodges 4 DD's torpedoes, kills 3, finally gets hit, whines that he got hit once and died and calls for DDs to be nerfed in one way or another. This is why BBs are by far the most played class, and everything gets nerfed in order for them to be the center of the battle. By the way, 7-8 DDs in a single battle is completely acceptable, considering that they tend to kill themselves, and that average per battle would be well within the average disposition of a team. What's not is that the current average amount of BBs per match is over 9, 10 being a soft cap. That's around 40% of all matches being played by a single class out of 4. Just to put things in perpective, the devs considered BBs to be too numerous and too central before German BBs were released. TL;DR: Suck it up. You're killing 3/4th of your counter class with your easymode ship. If you need the game to be any easier, start playing co-op in a tierX ship.
  22. On topic, can you tell me why every single thing that's globally nerfed is always a counter to BBs? Torpedo nerfs Invisible fire removal principally damages BBs IJN DD line butchering USN DD's shell arcs being turned into space ships Overmatching allowing cruisers and DDs to be penetrated through the bow and stern even more easily Making USN CVs a joke Every single major change and nerf has been increase the lifespan of BBs. There is simply no explanation from a gameplay point of view to make sense of it. Only from a marketing point of view. New players want to play BBs, BBs are the most played class, new players should be encourages to stay, ergo BBs should be easier to play and overall better. That's been a concern ever since CBT, and it's finally rearing its ugly head in a non-deniable fashion. German BBs sealed the case for good. The fact that the new DD line is pretty bad, that the IJN DD rework is looking pretty grim save for two good surprises, that one of the main tools of the USN DDs is going to get taken away and I'm betting that their torps are going to get balancedtm in the near future, and the worrying addition of a radar on a BB sets a very bad course for the game.
  23. Gearing, Fletcher, Benson, Akizuki, in ways the Yugumo, Chapayev, Zao, Ibuki, Donskoi, Blyska, Sims, Lo Yang off the top of my head. Notice that in there are a lot of ships made to destroy BBs. And WG wants to gimp one of the two reliable ways to kill a BB. Invisible fire is stupid, I agree, but atmosphere and historical accuracy should never be chosen above balance in a multiplayer game.
  24. Looks like some more BB buffs coming up in a few months...
