  1. Yeah, how dare people ask for DDs to not be countered by the very thing they're designed to kill, from a game mechanic point of view? Might as well just start giving DDs battleship-sized guns to avoid being countered by cruisers, but it'll be totally balanced because of a 30 second reload. Or let's just have a selection of cruisers not have any citadels, and only have one weakness: their radar only goes up to 7km. BBabies would be utterly soiling their pants in anger.
  2. It's the only one that can reliably push, so it's fine?That's insane. It can do things BBs simply shouldn't be able to do. Easiest to counter? If a Bismark shows you his broadside, at best you'll do 20k damage. At worst his turtleback will eat up your shells. It's not the easiest to counter, and the fact that it has the most survivability despite being a brawler shows that. Also, he doesn't talk about a subject that's completely unrelated, so he's biased? I'm going to ask you something, and it's not a joke; how high are you right now? Seriously, I don't see any other explanation for such twisted logic. I mean, I could use the same to imply that you're biased towards BBs because you're not talking about tier4 CVs.

    I did notice desync problems too. Things that overpen that couldn't possibly overpen, things that phase though ships, things that hit that were clearly in front or behind the target.... This isn't new, it happened in CBT and Beta weekend as well.
  4. Your Scharn has 52% WR, which is 3% more than your global average, which is without any surprises below average. Meanwhile, 41% with the Tirpitz. I honestly don't see how you can think that The scharn is having more problems, considering the Tirpitz is as fast, has more DPM, bigger guns, is more accurate, better armor, the same torpedoes, and yet you perform worse overall with her. As for the pointless DPM comparison, Scharnhorst DPM = 205k Atlanta DPM = 403k Both have 1 torpedo launcher per side, though the Atlanta's torpedoes are much worse in every aspect. Atlanta must be super duper mega OP with that AP DMP right? It's not as if the size and penetration of the gun had anything to do with it. No, pure theoritical DPM is so important. Forget that the Atlanta's 403k AP DPM would bounce off most targets.

    I'm actually not. I looked it up. The last two weeks saw about 850k matches played with German BBs, while only about 780k were played with both USN and IJN BBs, with a slight penchant for the IJN, which had about 400k matches. That's over 50%. What's your argument for one branch being played more than both others combined ? Please, make me laugh.

    We had that speech six months ago. "Stats will go down in a few months, when everyone gets them". Six months in, German BBs still account for around 55% of all BB games played. That's not just a slight increase, that's ENORMOUS. 100s of thousands matches of difference.

    I think that the question should boil down to a simple flow chart. Do you want the North Carolina? ===yes===> Go USN || || no || v Do you want the Yamato? ===yes===> Go IJN || || no || v Do you not care about individual ships, and want the best overall branch? ===yes===> Go German || || no || v Go German anyways

    If the Warspite had a 20+km range like many people are asking, you would have to deal with the most accurate, largest guns at tier6 outranging everything while overmatching everything save for tier8 BBs, and that on the most agile BB past tier3 out outrun by the Dunkerque and German BBs tier7+ that can repair a lot more damage than a regular BB, and has a very low cooldown on the damage control party. The only thing that could reliably kill a hero sniper Warspite with 20km range would be an HE spamming Scharnhorst chasing it down, and NC charging it down, or a CV with a good plane reserve and at least two TBs. Forgive me, but no.

If fixing smoke is too hard, they could also give RN CLs the ability to stop and go in reverse in less time than it takes to look at your mug, notice that it's empty, look back up at the screen, decide you have time to get some coffee, actually get some coffee, put it in the microwave because it's a bit cold, fetch the sugar, then go back to your desk just in time to finally be crossing the threshold of your own smoke.

    Captain semantics strikes again! If you really want to go down that road, that sentence isn't correct. It's "he should have chosen different words". There, now that everyone is unhappy with that and your pointless interlude that solved nothing, back to the topic. I would say that stock Kiev was a hard pill to swallow. As was the new stock Hatsuharu and Fubuki. Slow, extremely frail ships with poor firepower that bleed speed, and can't stealth torpedo because have 6km torpedoes spotted from 1.6km away, giving a reaction time of well over 10 seconds? lol no. Stop spoiling us with awesome new IJN DDs pls WG. Honorable mention to the stock Shchors who literally less maneuverable than the Gneisenau. Since you can't dodge, you'll be eating those 15km citpens all day. Which is a shame, since it only takes two citpens from 406mm+ AP to leave her with a couple of thousand hp left.

    Normally,that happens when your shell hits an external module like turrets, AA guns, etc... and nothing else, but doesn't destroy said module. But honestly, that's been happening more and more the past few weeks. I think the holidays have seen an increase in players, and that the servers are just overloaded.

  17. I didn't really see BBs trying to adapt to torpedoes and CVs. Instead, they just whined until both got nerfed. Same with fires.

    In my experience, it's about two or three weeks of work for a single person. So in WG's case 2 years to think about it, a full year to code it, and another year to try to adapt it to the UI. After that, it's off to the STs, and two public testing later, it's on the live server. So yeah, 4 years is a nice lowball estimate. I'd give it an extra 4 months to go through testing. Oh how I wish that I were being sarcastic right now. [eyes WoT's havok engine furiously]

    True, but what does make them completely overpowered is that even when in the hands of potato average players, they perform better by 2-3% WR and 10-15k damage at all tiers except 10, and that solely because there's the Yamato counterbalancing it. So let's recap: Ships that have been laughably overperforming for the past 6 months By far the most frustrating ships to deal with, even more than a bow camping NC Has ways to counter their counter class, because balance? Has an easier time dealing with CA/CLs, because 380mm guns overpen less than 406/410, and 305mm AP shells arm themselves almost instantly, so as long as it hits a citadel, it's a guaranteed citpen. Ships that utterly dominated ranked battles S5, to the point where the only other ship to shine was the Benson and its deadly HE spam. Ships that are highly criticized by both average joes and unicums as being bull**** And my favorite, a branch of ship so well balancedtm that in any given battle, the minimum amount of them you'll find is 5. A branch so balanced that over the past 2 weeks, more of them had been played than the two other branches COMBINED (around 850k matches for Germans, 400k for IJN and 410k for USN). That's not a L2P issue, at least not on the receiving end. If you need so many crutches on a BB that even as a potato player you end up out-performing every other BB in the game in almost every meaningful statistic, save for the Yamato's average damage (and even then, it's close), then it's a L2P issue on the players using it side, and the game shouldn't have to suffer from it.

    Indeed it does. And that rest of the sentence is: Paraphrasing: "You might as well just quit and go back to port unless you want to be useless" Which is a thinly veiled way of saying that you're suggesting to go back to port if you're not top tier.
  23. Just had a game today where I pumped 24 410mm AP shells into a broadside Zao, every single one of them overpenned or failed to penetrate (not ricochet, but failed to penetrate). Then got burnt and flooded down after being tag teamed by "teammates" both pushing me into islands and "accidentally shooting me" for 10k hp. Glorious sub-30k result, random battles in a nutshell. So why exactly was I first in terms of xp? Holidays... Just...Holidays....

    Did you know that the Prinz Eugen opened fire on the Hood with HE, and not only hit, but actually set minor fires to it. So you expect people to use AP on ships specifically designed to be immune to AP that size, when even historically captains threw in the towel and used HE? Here's a fun scenario: BB bow/angled towards you. Use AP to damage it. Oh you can hit the superstructure here and there, but the fact will remain that half your shells will miss, a quarter of those that hit will bounce on the turrets, and an eighth will just ricochet on the superstructure, because 203mm shells don't overmatch 19mm superstructures. So for every salvo of AP you fire at a bow in BB, you do maybe one overpen on the superstructure. Wow much skill and damage. Seriously, using HE is a valid tactic, and it was even used historically because there's no way a 102-203mm shell will do any real damage to a BB. And even then, it's not a very reliable tactic. [looks at your 41% WR on the NO and Pensacola] I rest my case.
