Sigh. You dont have to know the common routes for the complete 20 minutes per match on all maps because the Groningen will undoubtedly be spotted within a couple of minutes by surface ships or you from a safe distance. Either because it fires its guns or starts smoking up and spam from that. So you will know the sector where it is lurking from that point on, even if it gets unspotted after that. The ship will get spotted regularly as it is a gunboat, so with a little map awareness you can easily avoid being trapped. Seeing it's last know position, looking at possible targets for it, caps that are open or need defending, you will be able to predict where it will most likely hang around. All you need to know are the most common starting routes for DD's. And since you have over 16k battles under your belt, I'm going to assume your request was more about being snarky, then it being an honest question. If you know there are ships that you need to look out for, you should take care in where you are flying, instead of zombie mode going whatever you feel like and get salty when your squadron runs into an AA trap. Just like any other ship with vulnourabilities. And god knows carriers already have little of those. Git Gud if you aren't already.

Learn map awareness and common DD routes and stop flying all over the place willy nilly as if you own the sea if you see a Groningen is on the enemy team or any ship you see as a risk. This is basic tactical awareness any surface ships has to take into account, and so should carrier players. All a carrier loses is a squadron, a DD making a mistake like that is send to port. Do we really have to explain all these simple basic tactics again and again?

This is what your future battles will look like

It can get worse: 2 carriers, 2 subs, 2 dd's per side. ^^ -
Research Bureau (AKA Boredom bureau)
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to Smart_Hound's topic in General Discussion
As a vet the mechanics behind the Bureau is fine for me personally. I have only reset lines I really enjoyed, and the rewards were a good enough incentive to do that. I have always played a lot of different ships from lines I already grinded to tier X, especially since tier X was one of my least favorite tiers to play in due to the boring calculating playstyle. But since the noob percentage rose steadily, more weird and unexpected events kept happening, making tier X a bit less predictable and more fun. I've reset the IJN DD lines both torp and gun lines, the german cruiser line, which made me rediscover these fun ships again, I've reset the UK dd line, one of the most fun DD lines out there, and I've been going crazy with the UK light cruiser line which I've reset 3 seperate times. These turned out to be my favorite ships of all time. I am currently at the end of 2x double bonus regrinding the German Battleship line after one FXP reset, of which only the Gneisenau was a fluke. But I already knew I suck at that ship. Short version: dont bother if you can't think of any line you loved playing. If you can, it's a great way to get yourself some interesting ships, of which only the Ohio comes up as a valid all weather asset. -
WG know their game, don't they?

Pick off hours when no humans are playing. -
Cant even tell if I care.

Mostly correct, and while they were at it, they halfed the total HP pool of the plane squadron by halfing it as well ^^ Small incremental steps We'll have to see how this massive buff turns out :P

By dropping flags and camo's. Sometimes it helps to log off and quit the game and try again. It may take a little time. Also make sure you connected the account properly. You can find out if they are connected properly on the account management page.

I also had a Amazon Prime reward issue. The 3 Xmas crates dumped a few flags and some camos instead of ships :(

Is that the infamous carrier teamplay where carriers sit in corners and tucked behind an island far away from their team while the rest actually plays as a team? That kind of 'teamplay'? ^^
-
Dunno if this is another brag post or can't take jokes

I also refuse any responsibility ^^

Did someone change the rules on CVs?
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to ooh_err_missus's topic in General Discussion
Yup, here too. 4x tier 8 carriers is awesome when low tier. It is. I'm not lying. I'm not. -
I love how you keep adding to a solid case for carrier nerfs

These are professionals working at a gazillion million dollar revenue company. Yup, I came back to test their subs when they first hit random and found them utterly broken. This told me we have a rework 3.0 on our hands. I am not interested in that. I didn't play any sub in their second iteration on the live server because i already understand what is going on. There was no question for me to be answered. As we can see subs will only get worse from this point on, not better. Not talking about performance but actual fun and engaging gameplay here. And I actually have to sink credits and premium time into testing their broken unfinished crap? Really? I refuse to take blame responsibility for not testing their stupid stuff and then be credited for their stupid buffs. ^^

I'm pretty sure the development cost are pretty substantial by now. WG is aiming at a 4-8% popularity which directly relates to a projected revenue. The longer the sub s are postponed, the higher the cost, the higher the revenue target, the higher that popularity must be, the bigger the buffs. I find all their talk about baby steps hilarious when they keep throwing in these quite substantial changes, which are, dont get me wrong, needed as long as the sub gameplay and countergameplay keeps lacking as much as it does. With all their manipulation and gambling tricks up their sleeves, as a company, WG and Lesta are victems of sunk cost fallacy most.

You've seen these UK ship names? God goes by the name of HMS Incompetence

Will Submarines ever be finished in WoWs?
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to Warthog1942's topic in General Discussion
You seem unaware that the current team of producers and gameplay designers really don't know how to build engaging naval gameplay much. They have been struggling since 2018 or so. Lesta are balancing around popularity, so if you want them this bad, you better start playing them all day. Also, if you play them really poorly lesta will also buff them for you. Good luck coming weeks mate -
