Major dissapointment, absolutely. These designers should be building mobile pacman games, not naval games wtf.

Jinan costs 235 EUR, will anyone buy it?

Div had one being smoked by its Friesland behind it's JB. I couldnt push in because of it's torp spam. It ended bottom 2nd of its team, but like everything Lesta designs these days, it was annoying without being great. -
It is part of the game logic.

Logically? I dont need a FTP title, I've got money to burn. What I need is leisure time without agressive marketing, manipulation, gambling and other BS. FTP games have horrible and abusive monetization issues that ruin the playability of these games directly. I was a happy paying customer until they started to abuse their fanbase. Fk FTP. -

From what I understand, I'm no marketing expert, wearing customers out will make them susceptible to mental fatigue and poor judgement ^^ -
[3rd WG PSA] Asymmetric Battles update (Disabled permanently)
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
If WG ever made a hard core coop mode with stellar and exuberating AI and standard random level rewards I might still be enjoying this game and buy all kinds of premium content actually. Then again, that's not the goal of this machination is it? -

Sure that's fair, I've never cared for these early access events myself much. From what I've seen them evolve though is that WG is slowly pushing these ships just a bit more out of reach in the early access grind with each new 'event'. First rule of neuro based marketing: wear them out. This way the 'should I play or should I pay' area slowly becomes a giant muddy grey blob. Not by accident, but by a carefully planned customer grinding ^^ How far will the free early access grind get you this event without resorting to exchanging community tokens etc for these event tokens this time? -

You don't consider pushing the early access lootboxing out of normal grind's reach on the shady side? -

As long as they keep doing that we can't have nice things tho. -

Except the servers are sub par and the development is hilariously crap. So let's assume they pay for Cyprus real estate above everything else -
The "Overhaul" aka Eco Rework nobody asked for...

The amount over air quotes this developer requires is excessive. -
Nope, I only see how it's used alot. I'm not saying it can't do good, I'm saying people will pick battleships over this when they are into long range damage farming. The majority of the Yoshi's I see are the usually last ones alive on a losing team, or leeching off other ships doing the actual battle influence work, like most long range spammers do ^^ It's rare to see yoshi at mid rnge using AP and actively help contest caps, and when they do it's usually a purple player. I understand the potential the Yoshi has. I can't stop eyeballing her. I'm just not her type of player.

My guess is that most people don't find long range HE spamming damage farming without much battle influence very enjoyable, and those that do want to long range damage farm pick battleships over this puppy.

Please understand I do want carriers to be an interesting part of this game much like I'd love cool submarines, but the gameplay WG designs these last few years is mostly just annoying and boring. Im not anti carriers in general, im just heavily dissapointed in what they turned out to be.

The reworked carriers are defenitely worse then RTS in almost every aspect except alpha strike potential. All Lesta 'fixed' is that crap players now survive for whole rounds spreading their stink, which by the way doesnt fix the skillgap, only camouflages it. The design problems are WGs intentions and their fetish for spreadsheets, which is why 'working as intended' became a running joke on this forum You keep weirdly pointing to their 'anti BB' role while completely ignoring how carriers actually help the camping BBs and severly punish brawling and pushing BBs, nevermind even how carriers punish the cruiser role indirectly the most. Carriers arent over performing as a whole because most carrier players in lower and mid tiers are absolute garbage. That doesnt mean these players arent seriously decremental to gameplay as a whole because they still are, all it means is WG can point to spreadsheets like you've done in over half your post and pretend there isnt a problem.

I'm actually presuming bad carrier players fly towards whatever is closest and easiest to hit: pushing BB's. Bad carrier are triggered by whatever is closest or quickest to hit because the gameplay mantra of the class has been turned into DOT spam. Only when they get discouraged by players dodging their poor attack runs will a player like that put his attention to backsniping BB's. You are completely right in one regard: WG created the BB problem from the very beginning and failed to adress it all these years. They tried, but failed many times, much like they failed and still fail in a myrad other gameplay 'solutions', subs come to mind currently. They keep creating issues instead of solving them. Carriers inflate the snipe meta. Basicaly most things Lesta designed the last few years add to that problem. I think they simply gave up and accepted that this game is a bit crap in it's dynamics. Your wonder about this is understandable. But bad decisions is what they do best. ^^

Dude, seriously. Battleships have ALWAYS been campers and damage farmers. Me and some of our very capable carrier mains have explained to you that camping BB's are ONLY valid targets when everything between them and the carrier have been delt with or become lower value targets. Camping BB's are not a priority for carriers because A - the flight time hurts the carriers DPM B - camping 20 km BB's have very little battle influence C - camping BB's are often bad players so they aren't important to attack first It is pushing BB's that are actually priority targets for carrier players. It's not that I can't see carriers punish camping BB's, it's that you can't see hopw the game actually works. And it's not that I don't think the BB plague is stupid, silly and another WG created problem. That all has nothing to do with how you completely miss the point that carriers punish cruisers most, pushing BB's second and camping BB's last. Your arguments are uninformed and probably progressed by a lack of understanding game mechanics and player behavior. Yes, because BB's have always done that, carriers actually ENABLE them because they constantly spot targets for 20 km range campers the whole frikkin match. OMG lol. Carriers exaggerate everything thats you consider a problem in this game rofl.

Survey about recommending the game to someone else
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to nerderklaus's topic in General Discussion
Modern neuro science driven marketing is adressing the irrational specifically. This isn't some innocent game, it's deliberate and relentless stabbing at the weak spots of 'customers'. -
False dilemmas like these have been very popular for years already lol. It's a BS argument, like many. The 'problem' is created by WG and Lesta: players can only rely on bot AI to counter a human controlled air attack. That's not a player problem, thats a design problem. You still think the rework is spot on lol? Even after you've been explained a couple of times that camping BB's you dislike so much are actually enabled by carriers? Omg it's like talking to someone with bananas in their ears rofl. O wait, it's like talking to Lesta lol.

This, regrind what you love. The RM cruiser line surprised me with the Roon as well, and I've reset the UK DD and light cruiser lines multiple times. Just for fun. Also, I never enjoyed T10 matches much, and I never mind being bottom tier. So regrinding used to be fun actually. -
Same probably true for the person that knew how to design pvp gameplay lol. ^^
