Maybe it's time to stop blaming Subs and CV's on passive gameplay.
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to The_Angry_Admiral's topic in General Discussion
Here's a list I came up with on the top of my head. Debunk away. Contributing to passive meta No respawn matchup (core feature) Long shooting range of the game's main damage tank class (core feature) Low detection ranges of alpha capable dd class (fixed by hydro, radar, modules, captain skills and the class itself) Speed and detection by carrier squadrons (broken) Regular citadel mechanics (Fixed by turtle backs but hindered by overmatch) Linear design of battle modes - forward ship gets all the focus ('Fixed' for some lines by fuel smoke) Instant detection counter measures of submarines (broken) More... The disdain in general is abrasive. It's arrogance without merit. -
Oink! Or how over 2 years of thinking, designing, prototyping and testing resulted into this gem of gameplay design for PVP

Oh no worries there, the only other 2 times i died to subs last month was by players abusing the dolphin hack and popping up and shotgunning me in the bow at 2 km while hunting them with a light cruiser. So i got to see the full spectrum of Lestas schizo submarine gameplay design. I hardly ever die to subs, but when I do its in a bizarre way. Its poor gameplay design is what it is. And Im a broken record -

I'm unsure how this is fun for the average customers to be honest. For the subs, perhaps? Not even sure about that because players with their stats are usually deleted instantly. Old replay? On live? This happened yesterday on live server, I'm not sure what you mean. I did see the new approach on the test server in videos where I would whack a mole a faint blob that's placed randomly around the actual sub location in this case, and to be honest, I'm actually unsure if that RNG isn't already on LIVE for the origin of the ping perhaps? Fek if I know. I pressed '4' instead. -

Exactly most of the point. I was surprised I got to last this long since my other option was to yolo in and die sooner by being dolpnin hacked and shotgunned by 2 subs angled differently to me in a div and the same clan which hypothetically ment they were on VOIP comms. It's funny on the one hand, and sad on the other. Which is why I'm amused by the level of sub skill on display here, and disgusted by the level of pvp gamedesign quality. -

What I actually remember myself of is that some companies have the goal to make great food (and make money doing it), make great tech (and make money doing it), take care of people (and make money doing it), do fundamental research (and make money doing it). This company lost its love for pvp gaming and naval history for the most part by now. All that remains is a cynical shell making revenue on hoarding and gambling addiction. But I agree on the rest. Nothing will change much. -

The reports were accurate since they were reported for playing badly lol. -

Lolol. I was pushed into a map border by these two in a clan div of 2 subs both 'focusing' me ^^ They lost because of it. Player #1 Player#2 -

You can't keep compensating a lack of well designed gameplay with magic RNG snuff every time you people fail to create something fun and engaging. Lay off the randomization crack a bit boys and girls. -

I can assure you the investment in manhours (=money) is major n the case of submarines. Probably way more then the initial redesign of the carrier rework. -
I've killed plenty of subs last two weeks, but it was never 'cool' or exciting, always a dull lame experience mostly by the sub being sub par or being forced to surface to bad diving capacity managment. Most of the time I was forced into very bad positions after the kill due to subs simply being way too fast under water. The few times I was killed by subs was both times by the sub player abusing the dolphin tactic and shotgunning me in the face from point blank range while trying to catch up with them hunting, because the subs are again, way too fast underwater and also poorly coded horsepoo. It's bad gameplay design is what it is.

As far as Im aware Vader Abraham indeed invented Wuppies through this song. Another interesting note is that Vader Abraham was notoriously poorly skilled in playbacking his own songs. -

Mad_Dog_Dante replied to Anthoniusii's topic in General Discussion
I also think it's a silly feature, probably done to have 1 less texture loaded in memory - because visually it looks weird. Then again, planes are more like wuppies as opposed to warmachines in WOWS. Some people seem to love it tho. -

Didnt the 'counterplay' start out with automated depth charge bombs initially by just sailing over the sub? I can't remember, but that would account for the weird 'we noticed you really enjoy using depthcharges' - in an active way as opposed to automated is what they might have ment. -
I will see your 'OR' and raise you an 'AND'.
